HORRIBLE PURCHASE
by sol1017 on 03/14/2017HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! but great option if your looking for a car to last you only 6 months! Bought a car in April 2016 and the car broke down, had to get a whole new transmission replaced in November. After that, the car started breaking… down. 6 weeks later we took the car back again for repairs, when I was called to pick the car it was about 6:30pm. The next day, less than 24 hours later at about 5pm, the car broke down while i was in rush hour traffic heading home, with a miracle of not getting in a car accident. the car was back in shop for over a week & I was not even offered a car rental covered under warranty. CUSTOMER SERVICE experience was horrible, waste of my valuable time. I literally spoke to a person in each department that would pass me on to others just to repeat my story and no one could help me try to solve my lemon car issue. One of the staff actually stated, "its under my pay range to help you". After not getting a call back from someone who could actually help me, i had to hunt down and drive in personally to try to sit down to talk to one the head honcho. When I arrived I was told they could not locate the general manager, a few minutes later I was told he was in a meeting, so i decided to wait. When I was finally able to sit down to discuss my situation, i was simply told that he would have another general manager from the repair department call me. After my almost 2 weeks of living hell with this car situation, I was sent home with only 2 free oil change coupons. DO NOT BUY FROM CAR MAX!!Unprofessional at best
by enthusiast16 on 04/05/2016Went to CarMax Kenosha to discuss selling our car. The sales person we had an appointment with, refused to meet with us - she was "answering phones in the back" we were told. Then, a sales person was assigned - he told us he was new as he… chewed gum with his mouth open. Our car which has all maintenance records and was just serviced two weeks ago, was then appraised. CarMax told us that the transmission was balky. This vehicle is a twin turbo and they didn't understand the slight delay with a turbo. We asked to speak with the mechanic who appraised it - our sales person told us he was not available. Also, both Edmunds and Black Book appraised the vehicle for $9500, another dealership offered us $7500, CarMax lowballed it for $4000. Would never recommend them after that experience.2nd Scion - 2nd Carmax Purchase
by andeet on 07/28/2007First time, I walked inside Carmax wearing nice pair of blue jeans and button down shirt with my father at my side. They greeted me politely and I told them I wanted an xA or xB. They told me they had both models in stock and never tried to… sell me anything else. I test drove a '06 Silver Streak xA and my sales consultant never asked or talked about my financial status during the drive. Then we sat down and got to business, I decided to apply without co-signer and Toyota Financial offered me the loan. Unfortunately, at the time I was making minimum wage and I couldnt afford 300.00 plus car payment. 72 month loan wasnt an offer until I personally offered to apply for it and Carmax went out of their way to get me that loan. During my sale, my sales consultant actually admitted she enjoys selling Scions. Which I thought was neat; gave me the feel I was well taken care of; which I was. Second time, I decided to try and get '07 Classic Silver tC as second car.I ran into the same sales consultant at the dealership waiting for my oil change and I admitted to her I was interested in buying tC down the road but didnt know when. I test drove Silver Bullitt (Cars name) and fell in love with it. But I secretly thought a price tag of 17,500 is too much for a second car. My sales consultant told me their banks werent going to finance both cars but they are willing to finance the tC if I was to trade in the xA. Then on the other hand, she thought it was crazy I wanted to pay least $500.00 bucks a month for a Scion. But she convinced the sales manager to get me 72 month loan to make payments in mid-$400.00's. I chosen that route; Toyota Financial finance again and included the negative amount. I accepted the offer and I was given the right to finance any additional accessories. No problems or issues occurred while signing contracts or no hidden fees or charges. They did great job once again. Thanks Christine for selling me; my "Silver Bullets." You rock! My only major Con with Kenosha Carmax is, since Im known as regular costumer. I see new inexperienced sales consultants come and go. They only have small hand full of experienced consultants. I was very lucky to deal with one of their consultants who has been a Carmax associate for 10 years and has car sales experience even before working for Carmax. She knew the answers to any of my questions right away.I had my first experience at kenosha carmax last year, and purchased my saturn. It was such a great experience that I now work there as a sales consultant. There training is very intense and there is so much information to absorb. As well as incetives and rebats that are always changing it takes a great deal of time to become as knowlegable as christine. Congrats on your new car! Jake

Yeah...I'm hoping to deal with you guys soon. January's accident really killed any future hopes and dreams trading in "Silver Bullitt" & that "national highest mileage" record stunt didn't help much too. I WILL be pretty much be financially settled for massive down payment in November. Chris will probably shoot me for this; but I would like to buy a used tC. Something basic like an '06 or '05. A tC that can take over Bullitt's current winter tires and in $12-14 range. While Bullitt is going into his own storage stall for winter. That poor car can't handle another winter..... Tell Chris, she better be ready to deal with me again in November on my Birthday. I already have been approved for 22nd & 23rd time off from work. I've been planning this whole "3rd Scion event" for almost a year now. LOL
