    We just got our second vehicle from Brent and the team at the Bowen Scarff Ford in Kent and couldn't be happier with the experience. Qualifying for 0% put us in the Explorer we wanted. I didn't realize it until this last go around but Brent is the Internet Sales Manager. He facilitated our first purchase by chance and our second by request. I realize I'm the one paying for the car and the experience but so do they. I won't go to another dealership because most of them struggle to figure that part out. We're just starting out on this adventure so I'll post, as needed, with our service visits and future trips.

    My husband was in a car accident and our vehicle was totaled. We were in need of finding a replacement car for commuting to work. My brother recommended Bowen Scarff and specifically Brent Schwartznau. He had recently purchased a new mustang at Bowen Scarff and was satisfied with the service and price he received. Brent was very helpful helping us find our new vehicle as well and we got a great price and 0% financing as well as the color and features we preferred on the Ford Escape. Brent even helped finish up the detailing of the vehicle before we left. I would highly recommend Bowen Ford and Brent to any friend or family member. Our experience was wonderful! Laura and Doug

    I could not have been happier with my experience at Bowen Scarf Ford Lincoln. I love the no dicker sticker. In fact, I received an additional discount I didn't even know existed. Brent, who was my salesman, was courteous, knowledgeable, and no pressure. I highly recommend these folks.
  • Poor experience: misinformation, incomplete service, poor customer service

    First, I will say that I love the truck I purchased. I just wish I had purchased elsewhere. Every department I dealt with has had errors. Prior to and at point of sale, the rep provided misinformation about service done and the numbers he gave us as 'hard numbers' were different when we were purchasing. When we were signing, there were different fees, which several people confirmed were correct. (We later received a partial refund of the fees so they obviously we not correct.) When we discovered the discrepancy on what service was done, I requested they honor what they said was done and take care of the service. After several emails to sales manager, he agreed to take care of the remaining items and set up the appointment. After I left the appointment, I discovered they only took care of part of what they said. I also now get the oil change reminder warning, when they said it was done prior to sale (only 1500 miles ago.) I have contacted the GM and he has not returned my call or email. They seem to get things half done and do not seem to care about the customer experience. I do not trust them to take care of the remaining items and will not return to them for sales or service.

    I purchased my Ford Edge and was very pleased with the entire process. It was easy, no pressure, and fast from test drive to delivery. Very helpful staff. My family and I have purchased five vehicles from them over the years and hope to purchase many more.

    Quote me price over the phone, by about $7000. Plus they will not lower the price at all. Their price was $1700 over list price. I had to beg to get a set of new tires.

    We just purchased a certified, pre-owned car from Bowen Scarff. We were impressed with all of their staff and service! Sales- Brent was expedient and went above and beyond throughout our entire purchasing process! He is friendly and genuine. Brent responded as late as 10pm to our initial online inquiry and took an extra amount of time to thoroughly go over the car. He was never "pushy" nor pressured us with hard sales tactics. His knowledge was extensive. If Brent didnt have an answer he made sure to get one for us. Financing-Laura was outstanding and friendly. The service shop-Bryan went above and beyond to ensure our car was updated before we drove off the lot. Again, another genuine and friendly staff member. We didn't feel they were out to make a "buck" but genuine in ensuring both sides recieved the best possible (and fair market) deal all around. We will definitely recommend them to our family and friends, and we will definitely shop there with Brent and team again.

    Purchased a 2015 Ford Escape SE 4WD from Bowen Scarff in December 2015. Our salesman Brent Schwartznau was honest and transparent with information, and easy to communicate with. The whole staff at Bowen Scarff, including the internet manager Anthony Soto, sales manager Gerry Pickens, and finance manager Laurie, answered all of our questions, made us feel at ease, and ultimately made the process very simple. Would definitely buy another car from Bowen Scaff!

    Background: We recently bought a used 2008 Kia Sadona Minivan, fully equipped, 42,000 miles for $10,000 at Bowen Scarff Ford. KBB had suggested retail at around $9,250 and NADA had the price at $10,750. We found the van on our banks car buying service site. Rating: 2 Stars I gave them 1 star because the car itself was well prepared to be resold, it seems they did everything short of certifying it (as they are not a Kia dealership) to prepare the car for resell. I gave them the second star because the store itself was quite nice, it had good sitting areas to spend time at while waiting and the low level support staff were all very friendly. However, the sales desks did feel kind of in the open and I didn't really appreciate that. Now for why they didn't get the other three stars. First, I docked them 1.5 stars for their gimmicky "No Dicker Sticker" policy. They don't bug on their prices At All. They claim they, "try to give you the lowest price possible, have done it for 20+ years, true no hassle car buying experience." Well, that is fine if your customer holds a certain perspective that car sales people can be truly trying to help their customers and are actually capable of cutting their margins so far that the customer will get the best price period. I don't hold that view. I feel that all car dealerships are truly in it for the money, they care very little for the customer (why would they?!), and they are always trying to turn as big a profit as possible. Thus, I go into car buying assuming negotiation is on the table, despite any guarantee the dealership is making because I assume their profit margins are set higher then they need to be to turn a decent profit. Don't get me wrong, do I feel I got a good price on this vehicle? Yes. Do I feel I got a fair price? Maybe, I am not actually sure yet. Do I feel I got the Best price possible? Absolutely not. And by the way, all I was trying to negotiate for was $500 off the sticker price. I docked them another star for the sales person. We worked with two people, first I won't name because I didn't like him, and the second was Rick Cuddie, he was quite likable. Now, the first guy got them docked because I felt he was the epitome of an annoying sales person, constantly being amazed at all the cool features of the van and commenting on them, trying to act like we were old friends and he was doing me a solid, and generally not giving me enough room. Most disturbing part, he tried to assume he knew my own personal situation and why I make the decisions I make, that made me feel quite uncomfortable. I like to make my own opinions and discover the vehicle for myself. If I have questions I will ask them. Also, he tried to give us information on a vehicle he was not familiar with (because we bought a used Kia at a Ford dealership) and some of that information was false (like about the transferability of the warranty). Finally, I docked them another star for their financing. We financed a significant amount of this vehicle and had a good loan from our bank. Bowen Scarff wanted to run our credit (which is excellent mind you) and get us a better deal (you know, since they couldn't bug on the sticker price and all). What was the deal they got us? A whole 0.01% less than the loan from our bank. So what did we do with that? We turned around and got our bank to drop their rate and went with our bank because we know, love and trust our bank. I couldn't say any of those things about this dealership so why would I finance with them?! In the end, would I buy another vehicle from them? Yes, but only if I found it online, loved everything about it, was absolutely okay with the price shown, test drove it and it was exactly as I expected it to be, and did no financial dealing with them. Would I recommend them to a family member or friend? Absolutely not. Mind you, this is only for used cars, I suspect buying a new car from them would be different, and likely better.

    I purchased a 2015 Edge through a factory order placed on 8/28/15 and took delivery on 12/4/15. The sales people at Bowen Scarff were very professional and helpful and I was treated with respect at all times. The only issue for me was the 98 days from order to delivery. They searched the local inventory and a car close to what I wanted was not available so an order was the only option. Once an order is placed, the dealer probably has little control over the production and delivery schedule so this is not a criticism of Bowen Scarff. They car was well prepared when I took delivery and all (of the many) systems seem to working properly at this point. We are very happy with our Edge purchase from Bowen Scarff.

    I would definitely purchase a car from Bowen Scarff Ford again. They were quick to respond to my inquiry on prices, but not pushy. I worked with Brent, who was great. I received a fair price for the explorer I was purchasing, along with a fair trade in. No surprises when I arrived to purchase the vehicle. When I arrived, I was in and out within 45 minutes with a new car. My experience in the past was that it took a good portion of the day to purchase a car, but because Brent was up front on the car purchase, payments, financing, etc through email, as well he knew I wanted to be in and out quickly, it went so much faster. A+++

    Our sales representative, Brent Schwartznau, was persistent in finding us exactly the car we wanted, with all the features important to us. Arranging shipment to and from Alaska for our new Ford Edge and our trade-in Escape Hybrid was complex to say the least, but was handled professionally. Our trade-in in still in transit on the AML barge, but I expect that this transaction will go as smoothly as the purchase and delivery of the new car went. Great car, salesman & dealership.

    I have been using Bowen Scarff in Kent for all of my preventive maintenance servicing and they have been great. So when it came time to think about buying a new vehicle I decided to check them out. I am sure glad I did. From the initial contact with Brent I felt comfortable. Brent listen and understood what I wanted. They did not have the vehicle I wanted so Brent searched and searched and searched until he found the exact truck I wanted. Then he kept me in the loop until it was released on on its way. The final paperwork was quick and Brent spent an hour walking through all of the controls with me. I am very happy with my new F150 and a a Bowen Scarff customer for life. Don't waste your time trying to compare them with other dealerships, they blow them all away. Thank you. Dale
