  • Terrible experience unfortunately

    1 out of 5 starsby Matt J on 03/09/2025

I just returned home from my horrible experience with the dealership. It started over a week ago with a test drive during which the engine overheated. I should have taken this sign to run away. Nonetheless, I did decide on a vehicle and then had it sent to an independent mechanic for a pre purchase inspection at my cost for $200. I applied for financing telling them my credit was less than stellar. One day I am approved by a lender for a $1000 deposit, the next day they want $1500. That sounded odd. Then I go in this morning to button up the deal only to find out that the financing they had in mind was completely dishonest. On a $15000 purchase price with $2200 in equity and a $1500 deposit (because I was a worse person after one day obviously), they were trying to tack on GAP insurance and some nonsense about 66 month payments to "get it to work." I was sad to see that the favorable reviews for the dealership were not in fact valid. They tried to pull these games on someone who has bought 15+ cars in my life. I can only imagine what they will try with less experienced buyers. I look forward to a response from management, as I believe the owner may have heard this exchange. They can also ask where to send a check for $200 for the diagnosis I paid for. I was told by Drew the car was all of a sudden in high demand. I'm certain they had someone else coming in for a higher price or such nonsense. Very sad to see in Bellingham! Further response: Well you can see how this dealership treats a potential client. I don't think it's going to read very well with potential clients. By all means, if I am wrong, please provide the numbers that lead to a $400/month payment for 66 months with the economics I listed above. I wasn't offered these previously, and I would be happy to review. If I am wrong I will be happy to delete my review.
