Amazing car buying experience at Koons of Woodbridge!!!

The experience purchasing a vehicle at Koons was one of the best car purchasing experiences I’ve had. I’ve purchased over 12 vehicles in my lifetime and this one was remarkable. Although we weren’t prepared to leave the showroom with a vehicle, the General manager, Abdi, made us an offer that we just couldn’t refuse. We are blessed to have come to Koons in Woodbridge today. It’s been a while since we’ve owned a Ford, but we are proud Ford owners once again!

  • Unprofessional and Disrespectful Experience at Koons Ford of Woodbridge

    My experience at Koons Ford of Woodbridge was utterly deplorable, characterized by egregious unprofessionalism and blatant disrespect from a salesman named Eddie Sakyi, who presented himself as the manager. From the outset, Eddie Sakyi’s demeanor was aggressive and dismissive. He repeatedly interrupted me with condescending “yep, yep, yep” remarks, preventing me from fully voicing my valid concerns about the vehicle’s condition. When I highlighted that the dealership’s advertisement was misleading and failed to disclose visible damage on the car, Eddie Sakyi responded by rolling his eyes multiple times—a gesture that was both belittling and antagonistic. I had driven a considerable distance to visit this dealership, which I mentioned in an attempt to negotiate earnestly. Instead of engaging, Eddie Sakyi brushed off my concerns, arrogantly claiming he had already “taken $500 off” as if that excused their deceptive advertising practices. When I proposed a fair number to move forward, Eddie Sakyi stated he would “have to sleep on it,” stalling and demonstrating complete disinterest in reaching a deal. I informed him that I intended to purchase a car within the week, hoping to convey urgency, but Eddie Sakyi twisted this into an accusation, leaning back in his chair and sarcastically questioning if I was “giving him an ultimatum.” His tone was derisive, and his attitude suggested he saw the interaction as a power play rather than a professional transaction. When I clarified that I was merely trying to negotiate, he doubled down, boasting about customers from New Jersey as if my time and effort were insignificant. Eddie Sakyi’s conduct was not only unprofessional but also profoundly disrespectful, transforming what should have been a straightforward car-buying process into a frustrating and degrading experience. His refusal to listen, coupled with his eye-rolling and dismissive behavior, made it abundantly clear that Koons Ford of Woodbridge has no regard for customer service or transparency. I strongly urge anyone considering this dealership to steer clear—there are numerous dealerships that prioritize their customers and operate with integrity. Save yourself the aggravation and avoid Koons Ford of Woodbridge at all costs.

    The most sleaziest dealership experience ever! Salesman/ manager? Hadi Al Hage, has no morals or scruples. They made me pay $476 for a Mercedes Benz inspection and "sold" the car right under my nose. 5pm I get the report from MB of Alexandria regarding the condition of the vehicle, and when I spoke with him he said "he has to speak to the team to see what they can do". Next morning when I call, I was told that they sold the car! ... knowing that I was interested and paid for an inspection at the dealership! Didn't even give me the right of refusal!.... I find it hard to believe that a car that has been sitting for 2 weeks got sold on the spot in the evening after 6pm! [non-permissible content removed]! ... it is still listed on carfax and on their website 2 days later! [non-permissible content removed].... DO NOT TRUST THIS DEALERSHIP.... BUYER BEWARE! I have proof and of text and recorded conversations of their lies!
  • Horrible customer service

    Bought a new 2025 mustang 4 weeks ago. Started out well with test drive and went to heck the next day when purchasing. Was told I only could get the $500 military offer if I put my husband’s name on the car even though I’m verified on ID me that I qualify. Was told they weren’t running my credit and didn’t need to since I was paying cash so no need for financing, and they ran a full report. When sitting down with finance price jumped thousands of dollars from what was agreed on with sales manager, good thing I read before signing and fixed. Icing on her cake and big part of 2 star.. Paint on driver door was damaged while on lot before taking possession. Was given an “we owe you” paper to get it fixed. I called 2 weeks in a row and spoke to Jeremy and left a message with someone else. Both times was told I’ll get with the body shop and make an appointment and call you back. Not ONE call back to even say “hey we haven’t forgotten about you. It has now been over 30 days. We were looking to purchase another vehicle and will be looking elsewhere.

  • Don’t Expect to Have Your Car Inspected Independently!

    If having your pre-owned car inspected by an independent mechanic is important to you, DO NOT GO TO KOONS Woodbridge. They do not allow you to take the vehicle for an independent inspection. The fact that they do not allow an industry best practice is a sign of how little transparency they have and how little confidence they have in their product. Always have your pre-owned vehicle inspected independently. It is worthwhile and educational and can save you thousands.

    • I am happy to report that the day after posting the comment above, my salesperson contacted me and told me that there was a mistake. I had the car inspect off prem the same day and made a fair purchase of a used vehicle. I give credit to Koons for acknowledging the mistake and I would definitely purchase a vehicle here again.

  • Key fob

    I contacted the maintenance department looking to have a new key made for my vehicle. They informed me about the cost for programming a new fob. It was approximately $170. I consider that a little high considering the amount of labor required. But it’s the standard pricing. Then they informed me that I would have to speak with the parts department to verify if they had the fob on hand and the price. A lady at the parts department requested my vin, make, model and year or the car. She verified that they had the part and gave me a quote of approximately $80. She transferred me back to the service desk and I let them know I was on my way. I arrived a bit later and spoke with Gabriel. He walked me through the process told me about the price for program and told me that he would have to speak to parts to verify if it was available. I informed him that I had done the leg work on verifying the parts availability. That’s when Gabriel informed me that it could take 1.5 to 2 hours. I decided to home and grabbed an Uber. I received a message approximately an hour later. After arriving Gabriel gave me my key and passed to another gentleman that was going to take my payment. That’s when I was informed the my price was approximately $440. That’s when I told them hold on that is now where near what the quotes added up to. I must admitted I was taking a bit back by the dramatic difference in price. With the information that was given to me it’s should have been in the realm of $250. Now that would have been without taxes and little miscellaneous stuff so maybe $300 in my mind. But that wasn’t the case I was informed then that the price of the fob was about $160 which was double the quote. And the were a bunch of other miscellaneous charges added. The lack of transparency is terribly disheartening. The way this part was done made me feel very uncomfortable. It gave me the feeling that someone was trying to take advantage of me. Here came Gabriel to the rescue. He made some calls and massaged some numbers and got the price down a bit. I’m glad that Gabriel was there he did an amazing job handling this situation. I did request to speak with a manager because I felt that this situation required a higher level of involvement. Unfortunately this isn’t the first negative interaction at this location. That’s the main reason I hadn’t visited this location in such a long time. I have work that I would like to get done on my vehicle that really needs to be handled by a dealer. But I don’t feel comfortable with doing it. Over all you have pretty much lost my trust and confidence.

  • Buyer beware!!

    Buyer beware. They sell lemons. Bought a used car and 3 days later it was in the shop. I was contacted by a customer service manager and asked to bring the vehicle in, they kept it for several days before I was told it would be $1500 in repairs which I had to pay half. Was 1 day past the option to swap the vehicle and they wouldn’t help me. So I had to come up with another $800 after putting down over $1500. BUYER BEWARE. They will pretend to care but they don’t. In this economy where every penny counts, be careful if you go here.

    I purchased a new vehicle with the help of Jovany at Koons Woodbridge Ford. He was very helpful and honest about the different options. The car I ended up getting, a 2023 Escape ST Line Select, was listed at a comparable price with a couple rebates/discounts added. I live in West Virginia and Jovany and the finance guy (Carlo I think) were informative about how the registration would be transferred to WV by them and the process. The only negative I would say is the amount they gave for my trade in; I had a 2014 Ford Escape in good condition and the appraiser seemed to make up issues with it to devalue it. So overall, Jovany was awesome and I love the new Escape, but the dealership heavily stiffed me on the trade in value.

    If I could give 0 stars I would. This dealer is by far the most atrocious dealer in Woodbridge at least. They sell you faulty/dangerous/overpriced vehicles take ages to take your vehicle for repair, keep it for months and months with 0 communication and decide to do repairs to your vehicle you were not having problems with and don’t even ask you if they could do it. Their general Manager Mr. Jad Kadili, is [non-permissible content removed]! Who is used to threatening their clients and ripping people off! I have a claim with attorney general of Virginia and am in the process of suing them. If anyone has experienced what I was mentioning above, please feel free to reach out and we can all have a lawsuit against them.

    I won’t waste much of my time. Because most of you won’t even listen. But in short. Quick talking. Fast acting lie telling sales people. And even if they are pretending to be your friend they are laughing outside at toy while you’re on the test drive believe I caught them doing so. About how much they over charged you for the car you’re driving. So consider yourself warm. Best thing to do is stay away. Or be prepared to spend more money for the vehicle than average. And even more time stuck at the dealer trying to close out the process.

  • Misleading and deceptive sales tactics

    Initially made contact through website and texted over that evening and the next day with Katherine Lopez. She was extremely pleasant and helpful. Made arrangements to come to the dealership the following day to purchase a 2023 Ford Bronco. I was very clear about my intent upfront to put money down and finance with my bank. At the dealership I was handed over to Christian. Nice young man with one exception - Christian said all buyers have to complete the Ford credit application to “prove your identify” (I’m pretty sure my driver’s license, SSN, and other information you obtain when you complete the financial documents are adequate) but like an idiot I just went with it because my wife really wanted that Bronco. After waiting well over an hour and a half for what I thought was efforts to get our Bronco ready, I find out that the wait was just for the finance person to try to find a lender that would get close to the APR my bank was giving me. They could not. Then, unbelievably the finance guy tells if I take this worse finance offer he found (again, more money than my own back) then I could take the car home today. If not, I would have to come back the next day to get the car because he'd have to wait on a wire transfer, make sure that went through, and some other BS. I’ve purchased many new cars my entire adult life and have never had to return to a dealership to purchase a car with my own financing. It’s a ridiculous strong arms sales tactic to try to bully you into a higher interest rate, or other worse terms, that provides the dealership some kickback or other incentive to use them. In other words, they not giving a crap about you. They’re caring only about you while showering you with false platitudes and general BS. I expect some BS from any dealership but this Koons Ford in Woodbridge has been one of my worst experiences. I will NOT be returning next month when I plan to buy a brand new Ford F-150. Only reason I'm giving them a star is a couple people were nice and were not dishonest. But the dealership itself and the finance department cannot be trusted. Avoid at all costs.
