  • Service dept ok -- sales dept appears inept at answering basic emails

2 out of 5 starsby TwodecadesinDC on 04/27/2023

One extra star because the service department handled recalls and a state inspection reasonably well a few years ago on my old A4. They also diagnosed a problem my local shop missed, so the mechanics are paying attention, which is good. Very recently though, I reached out to make a basic inquiry on whether three specific vehicles listed on their website were available for sale. The response back was a boilerplate message about wanting me to sell my car to them, absolutely no human response about my question. I then emailed the general sales email address twice over two days repeating my question. Dead silence ... no response (I verified the emails went through). I've never had a dealer be totally dead silent on a first touch inventory inquiry, ever. Especially bizarre for a luxury brand with plenty of other dealers in the metro area. They must be doing so well they can afford to ignore potential customers before they even walk in the door. Anyway, my experience doesn't seem totally out of line with other ratings.

  • Worst dealership EVER!!!!

1 out of 5 starsby John on 01/16/2020

I came to this dealership after a 2 hour drive sales rep was friendly when I walked in he shook my hand and immediately said are you buying a car today (which was unexpected) and I respectfully said I am shopping around so most likely not today. His attitude change, he was MIA most of the time gave me the key to check it out, now I’m waiting on him again everyone just seems stuck up, no smiles no greeting the front desk girl act like she owns the dealership, not once did she even acknowledge my existence. So I went up to her to ask where this sales rep was so she finally got a hold of him and he comes out and says yea the price for this car is xxxxxx and the number changes again and adds whatever the tax is for VA. So I’m calculating on my phone to get the outcome of the OTD price something he should’ve showed me. So I walked away politely. And the next day he has the audacity to contact me saying they still have the car. As if I would give you guys my business. I’m surprised this dealership isn’t closed the amount of negative feedback it gets

I recently purchased a pre-owned vehicle from this dealer and continue to try to get them to follow through on several little things that I have finally decided to just do myself as it will take much less of my time and end my frustration. If you visit this dealership, I advise you to get everything that you need done before you take delivery. I was told during the sales negotiation several things would be taken care of. Unfortunately, those statements and assurances were just not true. A couple of the items were significant, but the vast majority were actually pretty minor and I would have thought they would have been taken care of. My assessment is that they will tell you anything during negotiations, but if you don't get it done before delivery, it will not happen. This is the kind of place that the reputation of Used Car Salesmen comes from. They were super nice and I would have considered another purchase, but after seeing the true colors, there is not a chance of a return visit and I will advise anyone that I know looking to stay away. Just because they are nice as they screw you over, in the end you are still screwed over!!!

  • Unprofessional

    1 out of 5 starsby Fearfully4 on 01/11/2015

I went in to test drive a non Audi car. I was informed the car was available; however, upon my visit, I sat for 2 1/4 hrs before I was told they did not know where the car was. huh? The sales man James Chase saw me and said something too me twice w/out me knowing it was him. He finally came over to me and asked for my license which he took. I did not see him for another 45 mins. I asked the front desk where was he as had my license and it was late. I walked around to see him sitting I guess in the manager office with his back to me. He never came out to apologize or anything. The manager came to me with the lame excuse. It was the worst experience I ever had. I drove an 1 1/2 and left feeling awkward and used.

  • best dealership ever!!!

I am so glad I bought my A4 from Audi of Alexandria... I shopped around online and nobody gave me the time of day. Then, I went to there website and was helped by the sales person.. This sales guy was really nice and answered all my questions. He worked with me via email and with my busy schedule it was so easy to find the car I wanted and make the deal! Go to these guys online if you want to buy a car and just need that extra attention , they were Great!
    • Be wary of buying a car from this dealership! They aren't up front about their charges. They include a destination charge of $875 in the MSRP of the car but when you start negotiating your price- the $875 gets added back after you negotiate your price! So they basically charge you twice for the same thing!

I had a very good experience at Audi of Alexandria. I was promptly greeting by a salesman in a very non thretening manner . Actually the first thing he asked me when I walked in is not how much can I afford a month but would I like a cup of coffee or some water. I was looking at either a new Audi A4 or a new BMW. After my own extensive research I was leaning towards the Audi and my salesperson just re-affirmed my thoughts on the quality and performance of the Audi. I got a very good price upfront and there was very little need to negotiate as i had already done my research and had a good idea as to what I should expect to pay. I was in and out of there in less than an hour and a half with a newfire engine red Audi A4. Everyone there from the sales manager to my salesperson and even the detailers washing my car were professional and honest. I highly recommend this dealer if you are in the market for a new Audi.
  • What a great auto-buying experience!

What a great auto-buying experience! My wife and I recently purchased our 2013 Q5 from Audi of Alexandria and could not have been happier with the entire process. Our sales associate (Ron R.) was extremely friendly, approachable, professional and knowledgeable. We did not feel pressured into buying a vehicle or paying more for the vehicle we wanted. The dealership had great accommodations, though I’m sure their new location will be even nicer. The sales manager introduced himself to us and provided us with his business card, thanking us for our purchase. Ron has even reached out to us a few times since our purchase, to ensure that he answered any questions we may have had regarding the vehicle; a gesture, I’m sure, that is not normally extended to customers by other dealerships. It is because of this detail to customer service and satisfaction that highly recommend this dealership. Thanks Ron!!!

  • STAY AWAY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP. Caused WATER Damage and won't do much..

VERY Long story. sorry about this but if you want to do business with this dealership.. please think again, there are far better dealers around this DMV area.. STAY AWAY FROM THIS DEALER!!! I went in for 25000 scheduled maintenance for my AUDI Q5 covered by AudiCare. Once the service was completed, they give you free car wash.. Guess what? They washed my car with panorama sunroof open. Leather seats soaked, and carpets soaked, and future potential electrical problems / mold / mildew problems..etc.. dealers not really doing anything to do anything right... it gets worse....please read on. Did dealership tell me about carwash incident before I pick up the car? NO Here's how I found out. When I got in the car, back window was fogged up, I thought it was due to result of carwash and humidity level in VA. So I ignored that and was on my way home, while on the way home, my shirt right arm was getting wet from the arm rest, so I looked around and there was about 2 inches of water in the cup holder, back leather seats were very damp, and carpets in the rear seats were soaked. I immediately called the dealership, tried to speak to manager, and left a voicemail. Very next morning, service department manager called 8am in the morning, told me to come in so they can assess the damage and dry it out for me. My concern wasn't the drying it out part. Car should not be washed with sunroof open. Whoever made the mistake should have came forward and taken the responsibility. Also, with car being exposed to lots of water (car wash uses average of 35 gallons per vehicle). Even if I assumed only quarter of that went into my car, it's about 9 gallons that was in my car. So I was very concerned, started to initiate talk with the GM (Selim Eslaquit), He assured me that there was no damages as they dried it out completely and that there would be no problem what so ever. I challenged him on the spot, let's open one of your vehicle with panorama sunroof and go ahead and do a carwash, and you dry it out and sell it to customer or you keep it.. can you do it? he said no. So I asked him Why should I keep such vehicle when dealership was at fault and also that they needed to replace the car for me. then he counter-offered if I kept the car that he would offer to extend warranty to 100k, OR that I trade it in and get a same vehicle with same options (at dealer cost). So then he started to give me numbers, and gave the low balling trade in value at 32,000, and gave invoice price for the new q5. Later that day, I stopped by at the Carmax and found out that my car was valued at 35,000. So I went back to Selim, and asked how he's got to the 32k, and that it was ridiculous he was still trying to make money off my car when his dealership caused great deal of inconvenience. Then he rudely cut me off and said, "Do you work in a car sales industry? I do, you don't, so You don't really know what you're talking about?" I felt very disrespected and demanded to get Audi Rep's number because it was obvious that this GM did not know how to treat their valuable customer. He also said all those in front of his sales people which shows that he's clearly not fit for a GM position at any kind of dealership. My counter offer to Selim was that he will give me more than Carmax and he does not make not a single dollar on the vehicle he sells to me. not even a hold back, he said he could not do that. He then challenged me if I can sell the vehicle for more somewhere else, then go ahead and do it and come back to them to complete the transaction. IS HE [non-permissible content removed] out of his mind? Why the heck would I go sell the vehicle somewhere else and basically let him off the hook? This was his dealership's fault, and he was not even trying to make this right, obviously only interested in maximizing the profit on this trade in and selling new vehicle (putting 1 more on the board for them..). Next day, I contacted the AUDI USA, and rep was very understanding of the situation and told me that he would talk to GM to see if they can come to a resolution. Audi Rep got back to me 2 days later, saying that it was dealership's fault, so they did not want to get involved. So now ball was back at the GM, he matched the carmax and gave in on the holdback. At this point, I did not even want to deal with AUDI ever again, but since they are getting 1 more sale on the board, I did ask them to either take off destination / processing fee out because I had paid them once before OR offer extended warranty on the new car as well. He of course said no, did not want to deal with me any longer. One extremely bad dealership experience / and experience of AUDI USA not taking care of their customer with the 2nd Audi, I was very disappointed and ready to move on at this point. I also honestly feel like I was discriminated because of my age and race. I wonder if I was a older Caucasian male, whether he would be able to disrespect customer that rudely. I felt almost embarrased to go back to the dealership after he cut me off and said I had no idea what I was talking about.. In the end, guess what happened..? Nothing got resolved, and because I'm being tired of dealing with Audi, I just treated Audi incident as total bad luck, and ordered BMW instead. Could not be any happier. Audi will never earn my business ever again, and they have now lost valuable client.
  • Horrible Experience

Stay away - too many issues to detail in one post, but the customer service is lacking in all departments. From rude salesmen and parts department personnel to service advisers who don't want to do warranty work. Although everything did get resolved in the end with the help of the sales manager, it was not worth the hassle. I won't name names here, but everyone in this place seems to have a negative attitude and they stare awkwardly without smiling much - save the finance guy - they don't make you feel welcome. I am not surprised at all with other reviewers' experiences. They treat you great until you make a purchase and after that you are nothing to them - don't expect any sort of customer service if they owe you anything from the purchase. Service and Parts (especially) make you feel as if they don't want your business and you are just an inconvenience. Not the worst dealership experience I've had when purchasing, but far from the best. Try Audi Silver Spring or Chantilly - they are complete opposite in terms of customer service.
  • Dont go to AUDI of Alexandria

Visited Audi Alexandria last week looking for Q7. Had a good experience of test drive, liked the vehicle and discussed pricing. The Sales Manager finally came by and offered a price for vehicle 47k with VIN no. ending 2491 (MSRP 56645). This factored in diplomatic discount. We said we would revert. Then got emails from sales officer with specifications, Premium Plus, cold, warm weather package, etc. MSRP was 56645. We said we wanted to look at competition. Got several calls from sales officer - and we said we would revert. Finally decided to go ahead and called sales officer and he confirmed VIN 2491 was for 47.9k. Sent email with price quote around 3 pm. We reached at 6 pm and were shown a price after discount of 51k. Asked why the difference. Different sales officer handled. Tried to suggest that car on which price was given earlier was different. This was not true since VIN was specified in sales officers' email and earlier today we had a price offer. We asked for the Sales Manager who came. He also said the same thing - that the offer was made on another specification and that their rules allowed a pricing of 51k. We showed the email which he did not acknowledge. He was rude, trying to tell us that we were at fault as the car quoted was for another specification and basically told us to take it or leave it, rudely, aggressively, and demeaningly. Anyway quite aside from being given an apology, he abruptly closed the conversation and wakled off. We told his colleague we were not interested and walked out. The Sales Managers' other colleagues came and apologized but none was forthcoming from the Sales Manager. Such poor behaviour for a 50k sale is unacceptable. We could have accepted that they made errors - the first time, and today in quoting a lower than possible price - but the rude behaviour was not acceptable. Would not recommend this to anyone - if they made an error in quoting a price, then that shows poor professional knowledge. If they didnt make an error, then it shows poor sales techniques. In either case, it was compounded by rude behaviour with customers. Felt demeaning, especially since we had friends who had accompanied us. STAY AWAY from this place.

Dropped by to look at inventory, no one even said hi. Stood around showroom for a few minutes and was never acknowledged by anyone. Went out to lot and again no one came to help. One salesman walked by with another customer and didn't give me the time of day. Someone could have just said hi and we'll be with you in a minute. I guess sales are so good they can turn customers away.

I had a wonderful experience at Audi of Alexandria in my purchase of a new Audi A4. The dealership is off the main road and it took me a little to find it but it was worth it. I pulled in and was immediately attended to. The vehicle I inquired about was exactly as described with all the options I wanted. The price for the vehicle was confirmed and they took a look at my 2003 Audi A4 and I got more for it than what Carmax quoted me. I am very happ with the experience and would recommend Audi of Alexandria to anyone who is interested in an Audi. This is why I am writing the review.
