  • Wonderful Buying Experience

5 out of 5 starsby mosesvatech on 06/24/2008

I recently purchased a used Honda Accord from Landmark Honda. They made buying a car so easy for me. I had been looking high and low for the perfect Honda Accord and when I found it on their website I was ecstatic and worried at the same… time. I finally found my dream car but would they cheat me? Charge me more than the Internet price? Try to get me to buy another car or would they flat out lie that they even had the car? All these questions were going threw my head as I called the dealer. I knew from that initial call to the last paper that I signed that I was in good hands. All my questions were answered honestly by the salesperson and when I went in person to the dealership no one went back on their word. I am now a very happy driver. My salesperson Jay requested that I write about my experience and I doing that for him because of my good experience.
  • Bait and Switch

1.8 out of 5 starsby arli on 06/16/2008

I received a price confirmed by my salesman that I had seen on two different occasions in an email. Set a time to meet my salesman to buy the car. When I arrived at the right time with my email with the price my salesman said was a "DONE… DEAL", he was not around (turned out he was hiding in the back). The finance manager proceeded to tell me that he had no idea of the price I was quoted - even when I showed him the printout from his salesman. They were not going to honor the price the salesman quoted me. The old bait and switch move. I left after 10 minutes when it became quite obvious of the game they were playing. This kind of sham is ridiculous. No one should have to put up with this kind of deceit. They will lure you in with the lowest price around only to charge you more. Don't fall for it by not even giving them the time of day. Go to other dealerships but avoid this one. They give car dealerships a bad name.
  • Honest Dealer for Virginia Inspection

    4.8 out of 5 starsby lillyflower43 on 06/09/2008

I recently had my honda S2000 inspected at this dealership and I am very happy that his dealer did not try to sell me things my car did not need. I recently had the vehicle inspected at a local gas station and was quoted $750 to get the… vehicle to pass inspection. I decided to get a second opinion at Landmark Honda and boy am I glad I did. My car went through inspection without a hitch and the service advisor was kind enough to let me know that it passes inspection however he recommend some repairs because they were getting close to needing attention. I really appreciated that and will bring my honda back to Landmark Honda when the time comes.
  • Good Dealership

5 out of 5 starsby sheliavaqueen on 05/14/2008

I was very impressed with my buying experience at Rosenthal Landmark Honda. I looked around online and requested information from several dealers. Landmark Honda responded quicker than any other dealer and their price was the lowest. I was… slightly skeptical at first, but the staff there has completely earned my trust and business. The honda accord I purchased was the exact one that I had inquired about. Landmark Honda made my experience very pleasant.
  • Avoid the service people if not under warratny

1.7 out of 5 starsby maxthrottle on 02/09/2008

I would give a zero if it existed. Avoid the service people like the plague. Brought the car to turn the front brakes. They replaced the rear brake pads, turned the rears, replaced some tie rods- did 500.00 worth of other work and said… still had not fixed problem. Asked if they had turned the front. Nope.finally did. Wa la problem gone. Had to do an alignment, steering wheel was cocked 90 degrees to right when they were finished. Took else where to get it done right. Went to talk to service manager. Showed him the brakes they took off rear were in fine shape. Told me to get lost. Honda of America apologized and paid for work that should not have been done. Avoid Avoid Avoid. Unless it's under warranty take it elsewhere.
  • Never Again!

1 out of 5 starsby rgustafs on 01/27/2008

I am a motivated and well-qualified buyer. I deal wholly over the internet, and I do not give my phone number to dealerships unless/until it is necessary to finalize a transaction. I see this as saving the dealership the hassle of trying… to convince me to deal with them and saves me time by being able to match up detalied itemized out the door offers. Landmark Honda is a few miles from my home and is where I take my current Honda to be serviced. I began contacting dealers for a quote, and Landmark was on my list of dealers. I took the time to outline very specific model and acessory info, but it took four emails within two hours to finally get a price quote. That quote included a "appearance package" for $595 -- 4 Mud guards, 4 Alloy Wheel Locks, Pinstripes all installed. [violative content deleted]?!?! So not something I wanted or asked for. I asked for it to be taken out of the quote, and I was offered a lower price of $395. Again, I asked that the package be removed from the quote, and I was told that all their cars have that package. Joy Even after specifying to the salesman that I would ONLY deal over the internet and refusing (in a nice way) to give him my phone mumber, I recived one call from the dealership and one call from the salesman via his cell phone. Both were allowed to drop into voicemail since I only deal over the internet. Both calls came in wihin a 2.5 hour period. I DID NOT GIVE THE SALESMAN MY PHONE NUMBER. They must have pulled it up from the database of service customers. I finally called the salesman back and asked that he take me off his roster as a sales lead. His response was, "Why?" I informed him that I am a hassle-free customer who wants a hassle-free sale. Landmark is the opposite of hassle-free. I will not be buying cars from Landmark, and I will not be taking my car to be serviced there ever again. I may be buying a Honda, but I expect my privacy to be respected. could feel the slime through the internet and phone. I knew Landmark was full of vultures, and that is why I wanted to deal with them via the web. BEWARE!
  • Great Service

4.8 out of 5 starsby robcar on 01/18/2008

I called around to price my timing belt replacement for my Honda Civic (which is an amazingly great car, by the way). And surprisingly enough, Landmark Honda was cheaper than the 3 independent shops I called for the service. I called the… Honda service manager back after getting the higher independent shop quotes to ask why a Honda dealership would be cheaper -- it goes against conventional logic -- and he said that the independent shops always charge too much for Honda repairs/service. He even quoted me the rates the independent shops had quoted me for the timing belt replacement job. They under cut the others by $300.
  • Dishonest, rude, dishonest rude

    1.5 out of 5 starsby odezza13 on 10/15/2007

I visited Landmark Rosenthal Honda twice on 10/13/07, during which period trade-in values were changed, terms of purchase disregarded, interest rate increased in spite of a 750 credit rating. Maybe because I was a woman alone with a child,… the salesmen in charge of approving papers were extremely rude, insisting first I took a small Chrysler car as a loaner for a few days until they were able to get the vehicle's inspections. When the loaner offered was not an option, I was told the take "my car" and bring it back on Monday to get inspected. It was late and I was willing to give in just to leave the dealership when I noticed the vehicle had a bubble in one of the front tires. I was told it was nothing to take the car, "Because it appeared as if I needed to have a Pilot for the weekend, and that they would not give me a Honda as a loaner so that I would put miles in it." At that point, the transaction was drastically cancelled. I have never experienced a more aggressive group of people. To think that when I bought my Jaguar Vanden Plas in Tysons Corner, I received two dozen roses, and each time I take it for service.... I am able to drive away with a different model. Same Rosenthal ownership, just different value system, people's customer orientation and quality of service. There were some good guys who profusely apologized for their manager's lack of skills, but the damage was done -- the signed contract was cancelled upon the manager's inability to deliver a safe product or a viable alternative...
  • Irritating

3.5 out of 5 starsby pickledherring on 08/16/2007

I contacted Landmark for an offer. They offered a good one, but then hit me with about three obnoxious emails a day. COME IN AND SEE ME TODAY!!! CALL ME NOW!!! along with other generic sales spam. I also received voicemails offering no new… information, just sales platitudes. "We're really dealing today. This is a big weekend. blah blah. It was a turn-off. I would have gladly paid (a bit) more to someone else that didn't treat me like a sales target. I never even met them, but they managed to ooze that predatory sales vibe even through the internet. It was a real turn off.
    • Any dealer you contact for a quote will call and email you a zillion times. If you are ever lonely and want some attention, ask for an auto quote via a website that sends the request to several dealers.

My husband and I just bought a new 2012 Honda Civic from Landmark and they were great to work with. The sales staff is nice, their pricing is competitive, and they made the car buying process easy, although maybe a little lengthy. They have… been excellent on the follow-up service too.
  • Long-term care

In October, 2013 I purchased a 2013 Honda Fit Sport af Rosenthal Landmark Honda. Although this was the fifth Honda we've bought at this dealership starting in 1993, I was surprised at the outcome. Had thought it was time to try a different… marque, and had been leaning away from Honda after several weeks' shopping. Almost as an afterthought decided to give Landmark a chance to show what they had. To make a long story short, my sales consultant, Gideon, in one very long afternoon earned my business with a new Fit that meets my needs perfectly and at a price I couldn't resist. My four previous Hondas were serviced exclusively by Landmark and the new one will be too. I've has the same service advisor, Chris, for over 10 years and throughout have found attention to detail, my convenience and satisfaction to be a number one priority. This is what I really call "long-term care".
    • David, Thank you for giving Gideon the opportunity to earn your business recently, and allowing Chris to oversee the service of your new vehicle. We appreciate your loyalty over the last few decades and look forward to serving you for many more. Congratulations on your recent purchase and we hope you enjoy your new Fit Sport! • Landmark Honda Option's 1. Settle (Suck it up) 2. Refund me all my money

I purchased a 2012 Honda Accord on January 6, 2012 from Landmark Honda, Alexandria, VA. I had a pre-approved check and the finance dept did the calculations on the computer and on the calculator. He wrote out the check for the wrong… amount. If you knew you made a huge mistake like that, why would you cash my checks? I told the sales manager apparently you all have a history of making huge costly mistakes and taking advantage of women. I had paid for my tags, title, etc by check and with my credit card; I wanted to make sure that I had the items separate from the original amount of purchase. You hire financial personnel, to do what? Handle customer transaction/finance and this is their job to make sure mistakes are not made, especially when it comes down to your money. If they are not willing to suck up thier mistake, I will never ever go back to Landmark Honda again. I had spoken with the sales manager to inform him that they could eat the $2,220.00, but they said no. I wanted to bring the car back and get all my money back but they insisted that since I purchased the lojack and the wax on the car, which cost me close to a $1,000. They were not going to reimburse me. I informed them that after finding out this mistake, the car has already depreciated $500.00. And on top of that, when I spoke with sales manager he told me that I owed $3,???.00 vs $2,???.00. So now they are really trying to screw me over. This is a deal that I will never forget. I am a woman who has been taken advantage of; beware of Landmark Honda, Alexandria, VA! Rightfully the original charge was for $24,???.00, but if you knew you made this huge costly mistake and tried to cover it up, and then deposited the check, and come back to me on January 16, 2012 to tell me that I still owe money after I put the lojack and the wax on the car and now I can’t return the car because I would be out of $1000, 00. I have had my car repairs done at this dealership since 1999, is this the thanks I get! I could have gone to any other dealership, but I trusted them, and they screwed me. I’m going to pray on it, and determine if I want to take the loss and contact consumer protection since again, the finance (Robert) department told me that I owed $2,???. and then Jim (sales manager) told me that I owe $3,700.00 and as a woman I feel as though I am getting screwed! The end result is that if they don't suck up what ever monies is owed, then I have no other choice but to file a compliant with Alexandria Court House in order to retrive all my money.
  • Landmark honda damaged cars in their possession and the refuses to take res

I dropped off my 2011 Honda Civic Coupe at the dealership due to a recall notice related to a defective rollover valve.i picked up the car in damaged condition;the rear bumper panel was slightly pulled away from the rest of the body on the… driver's side and there was notch shaped gouge in the center of the bumper panel. I did not notice this immediately and when i returned with the vehicle, the service employee (Russell) disavowed all responsibilityfor the damage, told me it wasn't covered any warranty, and advised me to take it to a body shop to get it fixed (after giving the panels a few open handed slaps their junction point). Landmark Honda is dishonest, irresponsilble, incompetent, and knows nothing of customer service or solving problems-nor do they care to. I will never buy another Honda, nor will I ever deal with a honda dealership again. I will not even let aHonda dealership change the oil.Bad morals, bad ethics, and completely lacking in charachter and decency. Never again.

I've always had excellent service when I've brought my vehicles to them for scheduled/unscheduled maintenance issues and I've never had any problems. Brian in the servicing department has always treated me like my satisfaction was his… number 1 priority. I would highly recommend this dealership.
