  • Service at Nissan of McKinney Texas

5 out of 5 starsby JRayCPA on 12/05/2016

Nissan of McKinney does an excellent job of taking care of their customers. Within minutes of my early appointment I was asked whether I needed a transport. I did not and decided to wait on the vehicle. The waiting area is plush so I did not mind waiting. I did not have to wait long because my vehicle was soon ready. My vehicle was cleaned and the staff kept me well informed. Great commitment to customer service.

  • Baptism of fire turned bad - poor workmanship

3/21/16 - Versa 2012 up for 100K maintenance * was there 8am and it took them 4hrs to complete all works * took off and after a few miles of drive around 3pm of that same afternoon, "Check Engine Light" lit off * called Service Advisor and was told to bring it back the next morning for further checking 3/22/16 * was there 8am, they took the car inside for checking and took them 3hrs to complete all works including drivetests * was told that there was an intake hose came loose which could be caused by all the maintenance done the previous day * took off but after like about 17miles drive on my way home, the "Check Engine Light" lit off again * had to turn back * upon arrival the Service Advisor immediately took the car and gave me a loaner car (for all the trouble and time the situation caused me) * Service Advisor called late evening and kept me updated of the progress, alarm has been cleared but they wanted make more testdrives in the morning 3/23/16 * Service Advisor called saying everything's good now and car is ready for pickup * they found out one of the spark plugs was not properly installed causing the "Check Engine Light" to lit off 3/24/16 * was there 8am, alarm was cleared however had to ask them if they could carwash at least due to smudges from previous night's rain * took them at least 30 minutes for the carwash after some followups on the status * so far the alarm has not come back up as of this writing SUMMARY: The Service Advisor was polite, accomodating, and sincere. It's just the poor workmanship of the Service caused all those troubles. I was hoping the car would be ready at least carwashed or at least filled up with gas (after all the testdrives they did). I had to adjust my schedule at work, asked someone else had to pickup kids from school... because of all the troubles caused on those 4 days. Not to mention I live in Prosper about 20miles away from that dealership. Not sure what they can do for me comeback. That was my first time with them by the way.

  • Maintenance Program

    5 out of 5 starsby Abeyta63 on 02/05/2016

Nissan of McKinney is by far the most professional dealership I have ever worked with. Since purchasing my Juke from them in 2013 they have consistently taken great care of my car, offered expert service and have treated me with the greatest respect. Thanks, Nissan of McKinney. Great job to you and your team.

  • They only want your Money, not your approval

If there was a no star rating I would use it here. I HAD purchased three cars in a row from them. A 2007 Nissan Altima, a 2011 Nissan Frontier then a 2013 Nissan Altima. The sales group is good and for the most part I always had good experiences with the Service Advisers. Actually even though I will never go there again and never buy another Nissan, the Service Adviser was always honest and good at his job. So over a period of 12-14 months as I was paying thousands of dollars for recommended maintenance on my 2013 Altima, I mentioned two or three times I thought the transmission was slipping and not working correctly. I mentioned this again at about 100k miles before the warranty went out. They kept saying the transmission checked out on the machine. Then 4 thousand miles after the transmission warranty went out the problems got worse. I brought it in again and told them about the transmission problems. I also expressed that if the transmission is bad, they needed to take care of it as I had told them on previous visits it was messed up. The service adviser stated, he was sure Nissan and the dealership would "work something out". It should be noted I put a lot of miles on a vehicle. The 4k miles over the warranty was about 2-3 weeks for me and about 5 months from 95k miles (pre warranty please check my transmission again) and when it had its final visit 124k miles. So they finally agreed with me AFTER the warranty was up that the transmission was bad and needed to be replaced (4 thousand miles after the warranty was up). They were going to submit the stuff to Nissan and include my previous visits where I believed the Transmission was going out. I was told they believed Nissan would work with me. After several days I got the news. Nissan would cover all but about 1500 dollars. At this time based on the fact that I had purchased three cars there and spent thousands in the service department over the years, that the dealership would surely pick up the 1500 left over to keep a good customer happy. But NO the dealership was not willing to spend a penny, even though they were the ones who did not find the problem that I told them was there (and was confirmed to be there). I was told by my service adviser that in the meeting after getting approval from Nissan to cover all but 1500 of a 3800 dollar service, he brought up the fact I had bought three cars there in 7 years and spent thousands in the service department. The dealership still decided they would not cover the 1500 left. So I went and picked up my car and traded it in the same day. It is unfortunate that they not only lost a customer for them, but a whole family that will never buy another Nissan.

  • Manufacture Recall and Lack of Minor Updates

Nissan of McKinney did decide to replace the oil filter for free. They said Nissan did not pay for it, and that it came out of the dealer's cost. Thanks.
    • The dealer did agree to replace the filter for free, but said that Nissan is not paying for it. So, Nissan of McKinney did replace it for free.

  • WORSE SERVICE EVER BEWARE!!!

1.4 out of 5 starsby eusnida on 07/04/2009

This dealer has the worst service I have ever experienced. They cannot even wash a care correctly! I brought my car because of a noise problem in the right wheel. After a full day in the service shop all the told me was that the tires had a strong thread pattern and that's why it was noisy. I then brought my car to Firestone and after 5 mins was told that it was a bad wheel bearing. Back to the dealer I went telling them of the findings. This time they found the problem and fixed it but did not align the wheels, now the car pulls to the right. Hey I only had to wait 6 hours for them to fix the wheal bearing, now I have to go back and tell them about the alignment? Like I said these guys can't even wash the car right, can they even change oil? Oh I forgot, when I got the car back after they replaced the whell bearing, they forgot to remove the special nut socket from the wheel! BEWARE DO NOT TRUST THIS DEALER NEVER AGAIN, STAY AWAY!!!!!!
