  • AG investigation & over 9 months to get permanent plates

    I purchased a used vehicle in October 2024 and was initially satisfied with the buying process. However, it has now been 9 months and I still have not received my permanent license plates. Throughout that time, I consistently followed up by… calling once or twice a month. Each time I was told the plates were not in, the DMV was backed up, and they would email me new temporary tags to print at home. Despite my repeated requests for help, the issue dragged on. Out of frustration, I filed complaints with both the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles and the Attorney General’s office. After investigating, both agencies confirmed that the delays were not due to a DMV backlog, as I had been told, and encouraged me to seek legal counsel. When Texas stopped issuing temporary tags this month, I contacted the dealership again to ask how I was supposed to drive legally. I let them know that I had been advised to contact an attorney. Only then did they discover that my car had come from out of state and required a Texas inspection. That step could have been taken care of many months ago. I had to drive over an hour to their lot for the inspection. I asked if they could top off my gas to cover the inconvenience caused by their mistake but was told they could not do that due to their internal expense process. Within an hour of leaving their lot, they called to say my plates had finally been processed and were being shipped to me. I hope this ends what has been a nine month ordeal. While I love the vehicle I purchased, the post-sale experience has been frustrating and disappointing. Because of that, I cannot recommend AutoNation Honda Lewisville.

    The dealership is nothing special. There is no “WOW” factor when you arrive. This is probably the most impersonal dealership I’ve ever encountered. They are knowledgeable and do good work, but they don’t engage the customer. I was left… wondering around the showroom without anyone asking me if I needed help or the service department coming and checking on me. The technician did text me their recommendations but the staff member at the counter didn’t try to sale me anything or see if I wanted to proceed with the recommendations. I was pretty much ignored the entire time I was at the dealership and they lacked the customer service to wow me and woo me back. I’m in the market for a new vehicle, but I will be purchasing it from somewhere else. In today’s market, I would think that dealerships would want people’s business. Earn it!

  • Cash in hand nightmare

    I was VERY disappointed with my service at this location. My wife was recently rear ended/totaled and we needed to replace our family vehicle. We have 3 kids and another on the way, and time was fairly limited as the insurance will only… reimburse 1 week or rental car. We knew we wanted the same car so our decisions were fairly easy, but the location of the car is about 3 hr drive. I inquired about the car we bought from this dealer on Tuesday of week one. They mentioned the car would be available to see but might need the tail light replaced and they would hopefully have it available by the Friday I was planning to come to see/buy the car as i had the day off and could make the drive with my wife. We get our financing straight and arrive on Friday. Car looks pretty great, just a few small things normal on a family vehicle. Smells fine, runs good, ac blows cold. I'm ready to pay the price of the car in cashiers check as we were paid from insurance company. However, they can't sell due to tail light fixtures apparently needing replacement now, and we were told earliest we could buy was Monday, so we left disappointed. On Monday the price of the car increased by 800$ due to the weekend sale ending. The tail light did not come in until the next Thursday. Then, I get pictures about noon showing tail light working and am told if I show with cashiers check in hand I can drive off with the vehicle, so I leave work early at 230pm to start the drive, and after stopping for a cashiers check on the way (800$ more than the price week before). They close at 8pm, we get there at 630, and sit in the waiting area for over an hour not even seeing the car. Was told it was out for a quick final test drive. Then get brought in for financing and am rushed through all the paperwork and am told to sign and then we can get the car. I do, and they tell me 5 min later (after trying to upsell insurance/warranty) the car did not drive enough miles to clear the tail light code to pass saftey inspection. The manager comes in and apologized and said they can't "sell" the car, but they will keep my money and deliver it to my door after the chevy dealer clears the code in the morning "free of charge". It's Thursday so I expect delivery by Saturday/Sunday and I agree. I call in the morning and am told it will arrive WEDNESDAY. almost a full 2 WEEKS from the date I tried to buy the car. I offer to go get it on Saturday morning and they tell me the delivery service already picked it up! That was a lie, they sent confirmation on Monday the car was picked up, and I should expect delivery on Tuesday morning. Driver never reached out from delivery service until Tuesday night, stating they were just so busy with the other delivery, and they would drop off the car on Wed morning. Then the delivery service apparently drove my car arround Tuesday night due to a mcdonalds receipt in my car at marked at 10pm. Delivered it on Wed afternoon (after they aparently had a flat tire) and the car looked fine but smelled like smoke and had 400 more miles on it than it had from the mileage I "bought" the car with on Thursday! It is only a 150 mile trip door to door to my house, and they were supposed to put it on the car trailer! So now, my car has 800 more miles, 800$ more expensive, 2 weeks later, and all the hassle on a company who claims to be "haggle and hassle free". The only thing they agreed to do was provide the second key as an "apology". Woo.

    The sales department was absolutely terrible. We spent two hours and all they wanted to sell us was their financing. We finally left and told them we would return with our own financing. Two days later we sent confirmation of our own… financing. When we arrived nothing was ready for us. The vehicle was not ready. The documents were not ready. The group of people that work here have NO respect for the customer or their time. Do yourself a favor. STAY AWAY FROM THIS BUSINESS!!

  • Dirty Car On Delivery of Sale!!

    Well upon taking ownership of the car come to out it was not cleaned by you company found old money change and caked on old headphones and paper trash in the arm rest glove compartment… it was disgusting! To say the least! About 4 days… after taking ownership of the car while driving it around town..it jerks on start to pull off after stopping at a light…it doesn’t do it all the time but it does…we have an appointment and are bringing it in for inspection..don’t know why…did not do that when I did the test drive….and now we find a plastic underneath plate dragging… my husband had to go underneath the car front area to secure it and put it back up temporarily. I should really give your company 2 stars not 3 but I liked your sales guy and finance team! Otherwise you get a 2 for poor car delivery conditions!!

  • They are absolutely awful

    Nice guys at the service station (shoutout to Cody and Diego), but the sales team is the absolute worst—specifically Jonah Ramirez and his manager Job. I purchased a Civic Type R from these guys with a $7k ADM. They said they'd throw in a… tint and Clear Guard as part of the sale. I wasn't able to get it done immediately since I travel a lot for work. When I finally was back in town a few months later, the salesperson (Jonah Ramirez) tried to ghost me when I reached out to get it scheduled. I had to complain to his Sales Manager (Job), who then tried to stiff me on the tint and Clear Guard by telling me it was too late to get it done—even though Jonah had expressly told me beforehand that I could get it done anytime afterward. I finally had to threaten to bring in my lawyer to get these guys to honor their word. Hard to believe that I'd drop a $7k ADM just to get treated like dirt. All in all, I'll never be stepping foot in this miserable dealership again for a car purchase or service.
