by Kevin Marcantel on 06/19/2023My name is Kevin Marcantel. We looked at both new Buicks and new Kia's at Gay family auto. In December 2022 we purchased a new 2023 Kia Telluride. We love the Gay Family Kia and Gay Family Auto. We found the car buying experience… phenomenal. Everyone was incredibly helpful and friendly. There was no pressure to make a purchase. The salesman, sales manager, and finance manager were all very knowledgeable, and helpful. Both the customer service during the car buying process, and the customer service when having my vehicle serviced after the sale have been excellent. My wife and I strongly recommend doing business with Gay Family Auto for car purchases and servicing you vehicles.Buying my truck.

by Teresa Castorina Millo on 12/06/2020I went in on 10/28/20 to test drive a 2021 Kia Telluride AWD EX. I was greeted by Meagan Posten. She initially showed me a 2020 SX that was a demo with over 20,000 miles. Price over 50,000.00. We then moved on to the EX. The test drive was… nice, she seemed pleasant and informative. I told her upon returning that if I could get the price I wanted, she would have a sale today. We went inside, she spoke with her “manager” and came back with a “price” . The MSRP of 43,695... with an offer to me around 42,000+ ttl, and a monthly rate of over 865.00. No drive out price given , and financing hadn’t even been discussed, so not sure where the monthly rate came from. When I told her that was more than what I wanted to spend, she asked what my price would be. I said, 40,000.00 drive out”, and she wrote it down on the same piece of paper and had me initial it. She came back with a counter from her “manager” of 50,000.00. How it went from 42,000.00 plus ttl to 50,000.00 drive out is beyond my comprehension, considering ttl would have been approx 3,000, instead they increased the price to over 6-7,000.00. Had they honored their original drive out quote that would have made it around 45,000 plus change, to which she acknowledged agreement at the time. So I left. When I got home I texted Meagan and voiced my disappointment and questioned what happened with the quoted price of 42,000+, she told me, and I quote from her text... “ No ma'am. He was initially at a $51,600 drive out. He lowered it to 50k upon your offer of 40k out the door.” I stated,” That's not what was on paper, but that doesn't matter... I see that all dealerships are the same . Have a good day” Her response to me was, and I quote from her text message, “ (1 of 2) That is correct. The paper had the sales price and payments not the drive out. I'm sorry we couldn't earn your business. I hope you have a great day too.” “The paper had the sales price =42,000-43,000”... As you can see from the photo the sticker price was 43,895.00 ... if I had agreed to that price... with TTL drive out would have been around 46,000. Where did he come up with 51,600.00? That’s 5,600 over and TTL would not have been that much. This has to be one of the most terrible, shady , manipulative transactions I have ever had with a dealership and I have had several over the past few days. I understand all businesses need to make a profit, but to blatantly try and rob a customer is unprofessional and untrustworthy. Or maybe it was because I was a woman, and they felt they could take advantage or treat me as if I was an idiot. Oh and the 2020 Telluride SX with over 20,000 miles on it... she stated they were selling it over 5,000 more than what the original price of the vehicle was worth because the “market is hot for the most popular suv out there.” I am going to share this on every social media platform out there, and will tell anyone I know, all committees/ groups/ organizations I belong to, plus the hospital personnel I work with to not buy a car at this dealership. So if you want to buy a Kia... or any other vehicle associated with the Gay Family in Dickinson Texas.... don’t do it, unless you like being robbed of your money.Great Salesman

He listened to what we were interested in and did not try to sell us something we did not want. The other… staff were very friendly as well. I will recommend this delearship to others. He is definitely an asset to gay family Kia and if he ever leaves I will follow him to the next dealer he is that great. Gay family… kias facilities are great! The cold water is nice on a hot day. After you buy a car they try and buy you off for give reviews then once they get them they don't give you the gift caess they promise. "Mandatory" Add-on Scam Dealer
by LCThree on 04/01/2016Looked at the prices on cars.com and the GFK's website will quickly bring to light that cars.com includes all the rebates and incentives (military, Uber, Grad etc) while GFK's show the regular rebates(please be aware that the prices are… CASH prices[which I found out at the dealership]). With that in mind, I made an inquiry about a couple cars and soon came to a clear understanding of what I was wanting(Kia Forte EX) and the terms (x $ plus ttl plus documentary fee AND NO ADD-ONS). I told them I would leave if the numbers don't match. The sales rep was Mr. Johnson. Yep, you guessed it, they(Mr. Johnson was joined by another sales rep) informed me there is a MANDATORY add-on which runs in the thousands. They then offered an used car within the $ set forth but it was too high mileage. As we walked to leave, they asked if we would be interested in a base model(LX) Forte. I said that the "mandatory" package would jack it up. They said they wouldn't worry about it. I called their bluff by saying they could do the same on the EX version. They said the cost difference was $4k between the models(so in other words, they WERE going to try to add the "mandatory" package to it and still be in my "budget". Uh, no. my budget would be smaller if I wanted the LX model so no thanks for the "privelege". So know your budget and walk away from GFK because with a Family like this, who needs enemies?We're very sorry to hear that you feel this way about your experience with our team! So I went in to pick out the car that Capital One and Kia's website said that I could afford which was an Kia Sportage 2015 and my payments would have been under $350 a month.… But, when I got there you can't get those prices they are advertising unless you do "kia financing, and are a veteran, and have a bachelors degree etc. Anyways they seemed pretty certain that they can get me a better deal then what capital one could. So they ran my credit, played all the silly games they always play. Needless to say I didn't get out of there with the car I wanted nor the payments I wanted. I ended up with a Kia Optima 2015 that was a loaner car that has a little under 5,000 miles on it a small crack in the windshield, and a car that pulled a little to the right as I drove. I am fine with the car is the nice car, I mentioned it to the sales person and their staff about my small issue and the only thing they fixed was my tire. Then they ask you to fill out these five online reviews so that they can look good and as a token of appreciation they will give you for $25 Walmart gift cards. Well I did all those and it takes a very long time for all them reviews to post to the websites so you can prove to them that you did it to get your gift cards. Well, I have been thinking to myself maybe I would rather share my story instead get my $100 gift card. I'm not going to lie about my experience to make them look good, then have to wait forever to get a little reward. -Steven SinclairGreat Experience
