LOW balled on trade in!
by 107main on 09/02/2013updated 05/31/2025I attempted a trade recently at this dealer. They offered me $5,000 for my vehicle rock bottom price. It was a hybrid with a NEW battery (the expensive one.) and was warranted. They said that made no difference! I declined the deal and… looked on the CarMax site and there were two cars exactly like mine both with more miles than my low mileage one, one had well over 100K. They were both priced around $11,000-to $12,000 NO HAGGLE price! This burned me badly. I did sell them a car one time and they were in line with the offer, but this time it was highway robbery and I declined to be robbed! I guess things have changed at CarMax.
