by builder1 on 07/25/2017My wife and I were interested in purchasing a BMW i8 sports car and had been looking around for one. I discovered that Murphy Motor Co. had a 2015 listed for sale. I contacted them and spoke directly with the owner, Scott Murphy. I intended… on making the short trip ( about 150 miles ) from my hometown to Raleigh, NC but after several conversations with Scott, became comfortable with the idea of making the purchase and having the car delivered, without ever laying my eyes on it. I must say that upon receiving it, I was glad that I didn't waste my time driving to Raleigh. The car was exactly as described ! We love it ! I will definitely be buying additional cars in the future from Scott !Wonderful dealership that puts customers first
by Ann.H on 07/21/2017I realize that this review is a bit lengthy but there is not enough space or words to say all the wonderful things I would like to say about Murphy Motor Co. I found a car online with them on a Friday morning. They make it so easy to… communicate with them so I emailed to see if the car was still available. In a short time I had a response from Brent who indicated it was available and when would I like to test drive it. I called and made an appointment to come down from my home in Virginia for the next day. I was introduced to Mark who took me for a test drive. When I returned I said, "Let's write this sale up." Mark and Brent had all the paperwork done, including Mark contacting my insurance company (on a Saturday no less) and I had made arrangements to pick the car up on Monday. The whole process from beginning to end took only an hour and a half. At no time during the process did I feel any pressure put on me. I felt like they were there for me and not to pressure me into a decision I would later regret. When I arrived on Monday, Mark had the car ready out front and had even started it so the a/c could cool the car before I drove it. On the way home I could not get the cruise control to engage so when I arrived home I emailed Mark and Brent about the problem and my disappointment. Within less then 2 minutes Mark called me. We talked and he said he would see what could be done. About 10 minutes later the owner, Scott Murphy, called me. He made it clear that they were interested in my satisfaction and offered to send two drivers to my home in Virginia to pick up the car and take it to Raleigh to be fixed. We finally agreed I would meet them halfway which we did. The following day Scott called to say my car was fixed and to arrange for Rick and Austin to meet me again to return my car. He also indicated that they found another issue which he had the mechanic fix. When I gratefully thanked him he replied, "We just want you to be safe." WOW I have been overwhelmed and astonished at Murphy Motor Co's team and owner Scott's dedication to customer first service. If you want a "new to you car" do yourself a favor and check out Murphy Motors first. Thank you Scott, Mark, Brent, Rick and Austin. You guys ROCK!!!!Wonderful car buying experience

by GLE on 07/10/2017On June 20th, 2016, I purchased a 2007 Cadillac DTS (Performance) from Murphy Motor Company (referred to as The Company). This vehicle has been towed to the repair facility numerous times for repairs that should not happen on this type… of vehicle with low (75,074 miles) miles on odometer. During the first week of ownership, the vehicle was towed to City Auto for repairs. City Auto performs repairs for The Company. This first occurrence the upper and lower engine mounts were replaced. Subsequently the vehicle was again towed to City AutoWorks as the vehicle left me stranded by the side of the road with a blown water pump. A third time the vehicle was again towed back because the fuse for the fuel injectors kept blowing. In this instance, City AutoWorks said the fuel injector needs to be replaced in addition to the right rear wheel bearing. This was on November 15 of 2016. Subsequent inspection done by a repair shop of my choosing (XXXXX Automotive) showed the fuel injector was NOT replaced, yet the warranty company paid for said service. According to Section 7 of the ProGuard Warranty, this is fraud. I had the vehicle towed to XXXXX Automotive and they correctly diagnosed the problem as faulty wiring done by City AutoWorks while replacing the water pump and fan assembly. Upon further inspection, it was revealed that between the oil pan and engine block, silicone sealant was applied to conceal an oil leak. Further, it was spray painted over to conceal the silicone. This was confirmed by XXXXXX as he visually inspected the vehicle when I brought it home and if there was any type of silicone applied in an unusual place, he would have spotted it. This was done by City AutoWorks at the direction of The Company. This action constitutes Fraud and conspiracy to commit fraud to conceal the fact that The Company knowingly, and willfully sold a car they knew to be unsafe and not road worthy. Neil has made numerous statements of “I will make it right” but to this date has NOT “made it right”. He has misrepresented the condition of the vehicle and this is reason to cancel the Warranty and issue a refund I have spent over two thousand dollars out of my pocket and yet today the car is NOT functionally drivable.Purchased Volvo S80 from Deny

I initially made contact via their easy to navigate through website, was immediately greeted by someone via internet (Brent), and easily arranged an appointment… to follow-up in person. Not only was it one of the smoothest purchases I have ever experienced, but the sales team and the entire staff made this a great experience. Clay Sawyer, the sales person, provided me with his cell phone number, and was there to assist in every way. I was also introduced to Scott, who I do believe is the owner. Scott stands by his vehicles, wants to ensure that customers are completely satisfied, and went the extra mile with me to ensure that I was taken care of and pleased with the vehicle in every way. I purchased a Porsche Cayenne, and it is one of the cleanest and most beautiful vehicles that I have ever driven Thank you to the entire Murphy Motor Company staff. Your beautiful and well maintained vehicle inventory, along with the friendly, professional and very competent sales team, will make me a repeat customer!!Great car at a great price without any of the nonsense

Left me with enough change in my pocket to get a head start of some preventative maintenance which… every Range Rover needs. These folks know how to get the deal done and to make the customer happy. Will be back for a vehicle for me soon!!These People are Not to be Trusted
by madashell2017 on 01/17/2017We had an arrangement to purchase a 2010 Ford Edge and the last step in the process was to have the vehicle checked out by a mechanic. That appointment was set. We had already test drove it. The next day we had the financing arranged and… a check on the way from our Credit Union. All was agreed to and a price was set. After emailing Brent about EXACTLY WHAT WE WERE DOING AND WHAT TO EXPECT NEXT this is what happened. THEY THEY SOLD THE CAR OUT FROM UNDER US! We had offered on several occasions to put down some money but was told it was not necessary. Now they tell me that did not happen, so now they are even calling me a liar! I know who's lying here. AFTER THEY VERIFIED THEY SOLD THE CAR OUT FROM UNDER US, I called them to tell them what I thought of how they do business, all I got was a lecture about being adults and they did not appreciate me swearing. Ya, right! Adults do not screw other adults. And I was supposed to appreciate all we had gone through only to get left with no car and a car payment schedule all set up but with no car to show. And they wanted me to be cool about this? I even talked to the owner, and he made it all sound like this was my fault. I was born at night but not last night. I know a screw job when I see it. NEVER TRUST THESE PEOPLE.great customer service
by ncbrophy on 12/15/2016updated 12/29/2016Bought my wife a 03 cadillac with 61,000 plus miles on it from these fine folks , denny fuentes was great,very friendly and went overboard to help took car for test drive and pointed out a few problems with car and he stated that he would… get them taken care of , we finished up with test drive and when we returned to the lot the owner was there , he introduced himself and asked what we thought , we let him know of problems with the car , he also stated that he would get them taken care of them , we drove another cadillac but we chose the one we own now , Great place to buy a car from overall great experience , from choosing the car to repair of the car , will definitely buy from these fine folks againSuperb Customer Care

Upon arrival at the Dealership, Foster was the Salesman I was with. I didn't get the car that I went to see, I got one much better… & with fewer miles. The 2006 Jaguar XJ8-L was in pristine condition that I purchased with absolutely NO money down & with a warranty. I would greatly recommend the staff at Murphy Motors to everyone that is in search of a fine quality used car. I will be back for my next car purchase.Great service

They even detailed it a second time before I picked it up. 10/10 would shop there again. I am please that on last Friday Aug 5th, 2016 I drove off the car lot with a new Mercedes 2008. I never though in my mind I would be doing that but it happen due to Denny… and the owner Scott Murphy making it happen. I just want to say that Denny has sold me all three cars and I am very happy with him and the company . I would recommend any one to them when it comes getting a good, well taken, quality car. I specially want to thank Micheal for going an extra mile and getting me some… extra stuff for my car even tho i had allready bought the car and signed everything as it is and there was no obligation for them to do that, but they did, and that meant alot to me. I almost didn't dignify this rant with a response. It is very frustrating dealing with someone that is unreasonable. It is also difficult to maintain your composure and professionalism while someone is speaking to you condescendingly with a generous use of profanity. Yes Sir, I did lecture you about your use of profanity towards myself and my staff. Yes Sir, I did tell you that I held myself to a higher standard and was not using profanity towards you and would not tolerate it's use towards me. I also told you that I would not use that type of language towards you if roles were reversed because I am an adult that was raised to treat others with respect. Unfortunately, that's about as much truth to this story as I can find in your rant. You never agreed to purchase the vehicle. You said that you wanted to have it inspected by your mechanic. You also didn't have your title to your trade yet and had not provided us with a lien release so that the vehicle could even be traded in. You Sir, never offered to leave a deposit. Why would someone offer to leave a deposit on a car they haven't agreed to buy yet? Why would you agree to buy a car before your mechanic inspected it? If we had come to that point in the deal, what car salesman in their right mind would refuse a customer's deposit? I'm glad that 100% of our communication was done through email because it was easy enough for me to show Scott (My Employer) that you were untruthful. I understand that you are angry that you missed out on such a great deal. Unfortunately, that is the risk you take when you aren't prepared to do business on a vehicle when it is priced so aggressively. I do appreciate that you acknowledge the fact that I tried to offer you a workable solution. Even though you spoke to me the way you did, the offer stands. I am willing to go out and find you a similar vehicle with similar miles and honor the appraised value of your trade provided it is in the same condition.
