I just wanna start by saying most of the bad reviews are from people that bought cars with recalls. But is not a reflection of the dealership. My experience with them was phenomenal. They went above and beyond and treated very well. I flew from maine to ny. When I arrived they noticed I was very tired and offered me an orange and coffee and also gave me the option to rest in one of there vehicles till all paperwork and the car was detailed. Shout out to Pablo and the manager for a great experience. Highly recommend!!!

    Justin and the GM, Mike were really great. I felt no pressure, just straight forward information and a direct pricing approach. The process didn't take too long and I know I got a fair deal for my new Tiguan. Highly recommend this dealership. Being a single female, the car buying experience isn't always pleasant, but I did my research, knew what I wanted to pay, and they made it happen.

  • DECEPTIVE PRACTICES

    After negotiating a fair price on a car with the sales men and attempting to close the deal the sales returned with an additional $1500 administrative fee.I had already discussed all the fees with the salesman and he said they would be removed. I refused to take the deal and left the showroom. Only to be called back because they needed to refund my $500 deposit, when I returned several hours later to get the refund the sales manager at the front desk asked why I wanted the refund and I explained that I was unhappy with their deceptive fee practice. Where he became very angry and tried to throw me out of the facility. when I refused and just requested the refund he slammed his fist down on the table and again told me to leave. Commenting on my age and becoming very aggravated . The vehicle I was looking into was listed on their web site but the site would not produce the Carfax report on line, I requested it in person it showed that the car had been in a accident . There practice of hiding this information should have been a indicator that this was not going to be a honest process.

    i called in for 2016 passat , and sad to spoke to mike (sales manager ) i am about an hour away from there we agreed on the price , i said when i get there i dont wanna be suprised with hidden fees , he said come in , after an hour drive i got there he come up with extra $1450 , be aware before you go there , have them send you buyers order with all the fees dont waste your time , they are the biggest [non-permissible content removed] ever

    People tend to only write reviews when things go wrong. Well I am writing a review because things went great. I've always wanted a Volkswagen and my experience at Atlantic Volkswagen was honestly spectacular. The whole staff was very welcoming but in particular, Trish Brett took the show. She honestly guided me throughout the whole process and did so much for me. I was able to be in constant communication with her and every time she would give me helpful information. Most importantly, she was extremely nice and pleasant and everyone who buys a car knows that goes a long way. So I want to say thanks to her and the rest of her team for helping me out.

    Had a personal sale on my old vehicle with a lien. Had to coordinate with my buyer, the dealership in finding me the vehicle I wanted and have all business completed on one particular day. This dealership worked with me on finding the exact car and time frame to complete my sale and come in to purchase a new car. Ask for Tony he is awesome to do business with and the team at Atlantic was top notch from start to finish.

    I was in the market for a preowned Honda Odyssey. After getting the runaround from another Atlantic dealership, I did some research and found two that looked promising at Atlantic Volkswagen. My Salesman, Adam, was great! He took lots of time with me, and listened to my needs and concerns. The whole process went very smoothly from start to finish. Sales Manager, Rob, was a pleasure to work with and I highly recommend them both. Never felt uncomfortable or that I was being pressured. Went in the morning just to look - and drove out the same evening in my minivan. Thanks again!

    Once again my family had a positive experience at Atlantic Volkswagen in West Islip. The salesman, Bukhari N, was professional knowledgeable. I would recommend this dealer to others.

    Purchased a used car with bluetooth function advertised and later found it was only a button that does nothing. Showed the advertising record to the sales manager Paul and he insisted the car is fully capable of bluetooth and all I need to do is to pay and install a bluetooth module. This is same as selling a car and calling it functional but you just have to pay and install an engine by yourself. No wonder their ebay account has "-1" rating, meaning more negative reviews than positive. Be very careful!

    My experience was excellent at Atlantic VW while working with Nadia. She was helpful, friendly and patient. I did my research and Nadia provided me with the best buy as well as helping me surprise my daughter. Here kindness was genuine!

    We wanted to check out different makes of cars before buying a new one and went to Atlantic on a recommendation from a friend. We were not disappointed. Atlantic has several dealerships featuring many car brands. We looked a several and decided on a VW. We were very happy with what they had to show us and the way they treated us. There was no pressure. They answered all our questions honestly and satisfactorily....In the end, we purchased a new VW Passat SEL from them because they gave us a fantastic deal....great price, they did all the paperwork right in front of us and all went very smoothly..It's reassuring to know that they have great service people and come highly recommended from a very good friend of ours who has bought all his family cars from the nice people at Atlantic. If you need a car go to Atlantic you won't be disappointed!

    Bad experience all around. Bought a new car and they let me leave the lot with a bad battery that would not hold a charge. Took 2 days for them to fix. Ripped me off on price. Sales manager, Joe O., yelled at me on the phone. Heard terrible stories about Atlantic dealerships and didn't pay attention to them. I hope you heed my warning - don't buy from them!

    The staff at Atlantic Volkswagen were very professional and eager to please. My buying experience was very satisfying and I would recommend this dealer for anyone considering to buy a Volkswagen.

    Went to look at a used VW Tiguan and ended up buying a new 2013. Nadia was so great She got us into a new car for only a little more than buying a used car. She did not push us into a car that we did not want. She knew the color and the options I wanted and she delivered. She took her time with us and made the car buying process a fun experience. She treated me like her personal friend and really took my concerns seriously. I have purchased many cars in the past and finally have met a salesperson who relates to her customers and does not try to confuse you with fast talk. I LOVE MY NEW TIGUAN. Thank you Nadia. Keep up the great work.

    ...I negotiated a price on a new VW Beetle Convertible - I had done my research and knew exactly what I wanted. I even entered the dealership with my own financing. We discussed VW financing and possibly leasing. Figuring that I could take the time to decide if I really wanted the car PLUS VW will re-certify for 2 more years on the purchase, and thinking that using VW financing provides a little extra for the company, I decided on the lease. I went to pick the car up at the appointed time the next day - 7pm. I was made to wait 90 minutes before getting in to see finance manager. Paperwork was not even printed. Finally, at 9:30 (1/2 hour after closing - and with dealership employees milling about, waiting to go home, I was presented a flurry of paperwork that I frantically signed- myself exhausted and starving (we hadn't eaten because we "were" going to take the car for celebratory dinner) - I didn't see that they had added $2400 to the price I had negotiated for the car. I called them very next day, when I saw it, but was told "It's the end of the month, the finance manager is too busy to talk to you." Their answer to my question about why they did not tell me they had increased the price of the car was "When people lease a car, they don't care how much it is, they just care about the payment[shrug]" I told them that was not the case with me, as I had walked in ready to buy the car. A month later, and they still refuse to make this right. Do not trust them!!! Scrutinize EVERY number they show you. They are shady.
    • I had a very similar experience with Atlantic Volkswagen dealership finance department. The rude finance guy had me wait approximately 3 hours even though I was paying cash then through me out of his office. NEVER AGAIN WOULD I RECOMMEND THIS DEALERSHIP.

    • We purchased 2013 GTI VW on June 30. Sales person Nadia assisted us. We agreed on the price of new car and price on car that we wanted to trade-in. Than we have to wait for financial manager to sign the contract for more than 4 hours. By the time when he called us to his office we were tired of hours we spend in the dealership. Make the long story short, financial manager John R. added additional 2 thousand dollars to the prise we agreed with sales person. We realized it after when we got a bank statement. This is not our first car but we never had experience like this. Now we tried to correct some mistakes and went to talk to him. He tried to bull us again with his explanation how it is works with banks when we takes a loan. Awful experience.

    My wife and I were toying with the idea of getting a new car for over a month. I surfed the web for prices for the 2013 VW Passat TDI. I found some dealers out of state that were offering the vehicle with all of the options I wanted for a good cash price. The day before we were to leave for vacation I contacted the dealership explained to them over the phone what I wanted and told them if they could beat or match the price my wife and I would purchase it that day. After several phone calls back and fourth within two (2) hours the deal was done. We went down and left a deposit and picked up my wife's new car at 7:30 P.M. the same day. Needless to say we took it on vacation and put about 1,800 miles and we are now averaging 42.5 miles per gallon. Upon returning we came back to the dealer to make sure we had the correct follow up date for service in which they were more than helpful and now I have a service rep. to talk to for any questions.

    Great experience! Worked with Samantha and my husband and I left with 2 cars. Appreciate all time and effort the staff put into our sales.
