Who Buys a Car In a Hurricane??
by Lenova on 08/22/2014Well, I did! Walked into Hudson Valley Volvo at closing time on a Saturday as Hurricane Irene moved into the area. Test-drove a 2005 V50 and signed paperwork, including financing. Monday AM, got a call from Renee saying the car would be… ready at Noon. Brought insurance papers & drove it home!HORRIBLE!!!!
by angels9596 on 04/28/2009I had the worst exprience at this dealership. The saleswoman was wonderful but the Finance Manager took over the sale and destroyed it! She called me at home on a Saturday to tell me I was approved for my loan and gave me the figures. I… told her the figures did not work for me and my family, "thank you very much but I'm not interested". I was sincere, I was not in love with the car and willing to walk away. She says, "hold on I want to get you into this car, let me see what I can do". I tell her what will work and let her know if she can do it great, if not no problem it wasen't meant to be. She calls back and tells me she made the numbers work, congratulations! I spoke with the Finance Manager three more times on the phone before driving all the way down there. She reassurred me that she had checked and rechecked the numbers, "did I want a 100,000 mile warrenty for an additional couple thousand dollars, it will still be in budget?" Blah, blah, blah. She even got everything done and preapproved with Volvo Finance. I go down to Hudson Valley Volvo and give her my deposit, sign papers and am getting all set to pick my car up the following day when the Finance Manager says "I think I made a mistake". WHAT?!?! Yes, she undercharged me over $10,000.00 for the price of the car on all the paperwork and on the computer. "What do you want to do", she askes me and my husband. Are you kidding me. I asked for my money back and walked out. Unbelievable!! I tend to think it was all done intentionally. Anything to make the sale.Wonderful Experience

Angels9596 - I am the Sales Manager at Hudson Valley Volvo and know first hand of the unfortunate situation that occured with our Finance Manager. It was a regrettable situation but was truly an honest mistake despite what you state in your review. The Finance Manager misread the program incentives available on the car you were interested in and discounted the car far below an acceptable level. She did not act with my approval on this deal and was over zealous in trying to make the sale for you without double checking the numbers with me first. I am really unsure as to why she was negotiating this deal directly with you in the first place as our process is normally to have the client work with the Sales Consultant and myself and then once the deal is agreed upon you would speak with the Finance Manager to discuss the loan or lease and warranty products. She was unfamiliar with the available offers and overstepped her bounds in this situation. I tried to reach your spouse the following day to try and make an offer that was realistic for us and would have bridged the gap some for you but I was told you made a different purchase decision. I respect your opinion and do not deny that this occured. I feel your account of the transaction is accurate with the exception of the intent to mislead and deceive you. We have been providing sales and service excellence to the Hudson Valley for almost 12 years and this one time a staff member made a mistake.
