How Could You Do That?
by BB on 06/02/2024My wife has a 2015 Lexus RX 450h and and she was thinking of trading it in for a 2020-2022 used RX 450h. I have more patience for web searches and started looking. I found what she wanted for interior/exterior colors and optional packages… at an out of state dealer, Ray Catena Lexus of Larchmont NY. We asked for a sales appointment. Our intention was to drive to NY, inspect the car, swap our MA plates, and drive it home. We got the sales appointment and provided all information requested. The afternoon before the date of our appointment, the sales person emailed us that the car had been sold. How could a Lexus dealer treat us that way? We were very upset and the response was they were sorry we "feel" that way. It would sound less condescending to say "We are sorry you were treated that way". Shame on you, Ray Catena Lexus, stop doing business that way. Let our experience be a warning to other potential customers. We were invited to call the general manager, which we declined. by Tim Re on 10/13/2023Stay away from this dealership and especially avoid Manny Alvarado. Manny, I promised you that I have to leave a review to make other potential buyers aware. Manny Alvarado is a horrible manager, rude and [non-permissible content removed].… On October-13-2023 I spent 2-3 hours on the phone with Paulo B. to discuss the best possible deal for Lexus RX500H (VIN: 212BCMEA4RC010876, Stock # 24203). We agreed on $69,500 to be paid in full the very next day on October-14-2023. Paulo B. mentioned that he was with his manager when we’re negotiating the deal. Paulo B. made an appointment for me in the dealer’s book to get the car on October-14-2023 at 11:30 AM. We agreed that I would make the down payment for the new car on October-14-2023 before visiting Ray Catena Lexus of Larchmont. Paulo B. told me that he wouldn’t be at the dealership on Oct-14-2023 and his manager, Manny Alvarado (who was with him on the phone when negotiating), will take care of the transaction ( $69,500.00 (negotiated price) + $175 (document fee) + Taxes). Paulo B. promised to text me his manager (Manny Alvarado) information for tomorrow to close the deal. After I had not received Manny’s info as promised I decided to call the dealership to get Manny’s info for tomorrow. Front desk told me that Paulo B. left for today and I can speak with Manny Alvarado directly to confirm the deal and my appointment for tomorrow. Manny Alvarado immediately tried to intimidate me with an aggressive tone demanding the deposit up front (almost threatening) suggesting that I should speak with yet another rep and there is no way I could get the car at the price I was promised by Paulo B. and his manager (who was Manny?). I suggested Manny to never call me again promising to leave a review warning other potential customers and hang up the phone. It did not help, for some reason Many kept calling me back trying to intimidate me even more. I had to block his phone number and Lexus Of Larchmont main phone number to avoid harassing. Stay away from this dealership.Best car buying experience ever!

I have been leasing for 15 years and I never had a Lexus and I always heard good things about Ray Catena Lexus in Larchmont. Well all the… reviews are 100% true I received the best service, best price and fastest delivery out of the cars I leased these past 15 years with Ed Bartoli. I purchased the car over the phone, picked it up and the whole transactions including talking to the technology specialist to go over the car was a little over an hour. Jeff Hapoienu, Ed Bartoli and Billy Conroy were all great to work with on this lease.
