Satisfied and worth the drive
by Conklin Jim on 12/02/2021Just wrapped the fourth car transaction in Ithaca for a family living in Conklin, NY approximately 65 miles to dealership from our house. Last three we worked with salesman Dave Raymond for two leases and one purchase and all went smoothly.… He is very knowledgeable with the Honda vehicles including changes by manufacturer over the years. Excellent with feature explanations and demonstrations. We have a Honda dealer 15 minutes away but have found the extra driving worth it based on our experiences and the opportunity to work with Dave.Maguire Honda Rocks!

He got back to our questions quickly and told us several times to contact him if we have any… questions once we start to use our truck. We usually buy gently used vehicles but we are glad we bought a new one from McGuire. We look forward to working with Dave again.Spectacular customer service!

by Phil on 07/19/2021My experience was not up to the standards that I expected when spending over $40k on a vehicle. I went in knowing what I wanted for a vehicle so the only role of the sales person was to facilitate the communication and paperwork. When… arriving at the dealership, I was regularly left standing around waiting for upwards of 20 or 30 minutes. The people servicing the show room floor sit idly and hardy interact with customers. You would think that a customer walking through the door ready to spend $40k on a car would be greeted by welcoming smiles, handshakes, questions like ”can I get you some water?” or other small gestures of kindness. You will not get this here. The vehicle was not yet on the lot, and I was told that it was scheduled to arrive at the end of the month. The sales person did inform me that the arrival was typically within the first week of the next month. However, once this week came and went, I stopped hearing from the sales person. The only communication that we had was initiated by me. Each time I spoke to the sales person, I was given a new date that he assured me the vehicle would arrive by. However, each date ended up being incorrect. The sales person acted as though there was nothing they could do to get more accurate information about the arrival of this vehicle, however the issue seem to be mostly ignored by them. I understand when vehicles are delayed, but I want people to be straightforward and honest about it. Don’t keep extending your promise by as few days as possible to keep my hopes up. If it’s going to be delayed for two weeks, find out and give it to me straight. Also, if I am committed to buying your vehicle, the least you could do is give me frequent updates. Don’t wait for me to reach out to ask whether you’ve heard anything, it is not hard to send a text saying “no news yet but I’ll keep trying.” Even when the sales person said that they would give me an update the following day, I still need to reach out to days later to hear anything. The only time they seemed concerned for me as a customer was when I informed them that I started shopping at a different dealership. I would expect that, when purchasing one of the more expensive vehicles, with no negotiation or haggling about the price, that I would receive exceptional service. I know that vehicles are in short supply, but I never felt like my experience was ever a priority for anyone at the dealership. Even after signing all the paperwork at the end and completing the transaction, there was very little orientation to the new vehicle. My partner once purchased a car from the dealership before ownership changed and the experience was much different. After she bought her car (half the price of mine), The sales staff spent time showing her every feature of the car, connecting her phone for her, and talking about all the technology and how to use it. In my case, the only orientation I received was instruction on how to use the remote start and the location of very obvious features such as the heated seat buttons. I can say with confidence that I would rather shop at a different dealership in the future. The sales staff that I communicated with at a dealership one hour north from me were very attentive to my needs and worked quickly to try to prepare everything for my business and to address my concerns. The main reason that I did not finalize my transaction with this other dealership came down to other factors; I am confident though that my future car purchases will not happen at Maguire Honda of Ithaca.Friendly Sales Team

I had detailed independent info on value of my trade-in and new car price; a little high on new car price but way undervalued… trade-in (which I carefully researched).Highly Satisfied

That means that they work hard to earn your business. Our salesman was… professional and with a calm demeanor which was very helpful because buying a new vehicle can be stressful. In addition, I gave him a list of tasks that involved removing some items from my trade-in and either installing to the new vehicle or returning to me. All completed with no complaint. Customer satisfaction was his top of mind. We quickly settled on a fair price because both of us were reasonable in our price expectations.Easiest car buying ever.

I had purchased a Honda in 2008 and was happy with the car. Bought a Mazda after and liked it… but some things were unpleasant so came back to Honda. Enjoying my car so far. Nice ride, great standard equipment, nice interior and exterior I have been happy with Honda in Ithaca and in fact have used their service and body shop on my other non Honda cars.Used CRV

They said they wanted to earn my business and they did. The salesman Jeff… Philip has many years experience there and was completely knowledgeable but not pushy .
