Gloria and the entire service team is excellent. The driver who dropped off my 2013 911 4S cab after service was also very courteous and excellent. I have had consistently excellent service and Gloria is the best, and always responsive to questions.
  • Alan, thank you for the rave review of Gloria and our team! We appreciate your business and we look forward to seeing you again at McGovern Porsche South Shore.

  • Unprofessional, incompetent, worst service

    1 out of 5 starsby cz3 on 12/11/2009

I just moved from california and my car was taken to this dealer because of the "check engine" light turned on. They performed 5-1/2 hours of diagnostic work at a rate of $140/hr, replaced a part for 2 additional hours... charged a total of $1000 and nothing was fixed in the car. In essence, the wrong part was diagnosed and the car came out in exactly the same condition it went in (but of course, they were $1000 richer). I was so upset by this episode that I called 2 other dealers, one in New York and one in California, and they both independently stated that no Porsche dealer should do 5+ hours of diagnostics work to figure out the wrong diagnoses! Both said that a competent and fair Porsche Dealer/mechanic would never charge 7 hours of work (@ 140/hr) to fix nothing. This repair shop does not care about the customer, or the car, only about charging the most, even if the work proposed is not the most logical or perhaps even necessary. Indeed, before I rescued my car from this dealer, the service manager wanted to remove the engine at a cost basis of $5000+ to, in their own words, "investigate" what may be the "real" cause of the check-engine light. Both other dealers stated that taking the engine out at this stage was completely unnecessary and most unethical. In my 10+ years of owning various porsches, including this twin turbo, I have never felt as deceived, ripped-off and taken advantage of as with this dealer.

  • Extremely rude! and unhelpful

As a busy executive I don't have time to go from dealer to dealer to find the vehicle I'm looking for. I spec'd out the Cayenne S that I was looking for and began calling around to see who had the vehicle in stock. Called South Shore Porsche in Freeport to go over the specs and ask if they had it. I was greeted by a rude know-it-all salesperson that pointed me to their website and said he "could get any car". I explained to him that I had got his contact info from the website and I could not find what I was looking for on their website (which is a mess) and if he could check his inventory. He wouldn't let me finish speaking and kept interrupting me. Extremely rude. What ever happened to ‘listen to the customer first and then ask questions?’ I told him, if this is the way they treat customers who are about to buy a 70k vehicle, I would take my business elsewhere. Everyone has a bad day- but in sales, the customer is always right. I would call to call to complain to the Sales Manager, but as luck would have it, this guy is the Sales Manager!

  • no loaner here

    1 out of 5 starsby artl3 on 07/29/2007

I called to schedule a 20km (12 mile) service for my cayenne TT; estimated cost about $700. I was told that they only provide loaners if the car was purchased from them. Odd idea. A rented suv would cost them about $50. If they had asked I would have been pleased to pay. all I got was an argument.

  • Verbally assaulting, rude, obnoxious and bias

The WORST EXPERIENCE out of all high end dealers. I walked in to check out a preowned $85K Panamera. While me and salesman were talking about options and price - Joe (very rude mad) walked up to us and ripped the options sheet out of the salesman hands and said that car I was asking about is for "RICH LONG ISLAND FAMILIES" - yes, those are the words that he used. It was very disrespectful and bias. He didnt event know my net worth and he assumed I dont have a family and assumed I dont live in LI. How did he get that assumption - good guess. A kicker was when he told the young salesman that "this is how you do business" and not run around showing car, getting paper work, printing things. I was floored when I heard that. If that is how they train salesmen - good luck. I would never even think about Porsche southshore. Stay away from crazy people! Btw, I just came out of Maseratti dealer that treated me like a king prior to arrival at SSP.
