  • Do not buy warranties from Marc Colatrella

1 out of 5 starsby Alexsunn on 07/06/2017

I was little careless in getting talked into buying useless warranties, and have been trying to cancel them the very next day for about two weeks with no success. Marc, the finance guy kept dragging his feet and telling me different stories that the cancellation would be formalized in a few day, but not a thing happened so far. Do not believe anything out of hid mouth!

  • [non-permissible content removed] keep away

    1 out of 5 starsby Raj0083 on 01/25/2017

They guys are [non-permissible content removed] and deceitful, i bought a used Acura from these guys and they ripped me off. They showed my car without washing , which i later realized had too many scratches, then they charged me 600 dollars extra in taxes and registration and they have not returned even after so many calls to them.

  • Problematic dealership avoid

1 out of 5 starsby ArmandoLio on 12/03/2016

I implore all future car buyer to completely avoid this place all together,Just read the reviews. If you care about professionalism and customer services avoid this dealership. I bought a used car less than a month ago and it has been nothing but problems and they give you hours long run arounds to solve any complaints. Management is rude and full of excuses for their short comings. They need to retrain their full staff. Ever heard of the customer?

  • Fraud

    1 out of 5 starsby janine123 on 04/04/2016

This dealership is a complete farce... I bought my car back in December and to date I still do not have a title... they sold me a car that had bad motor mounts and try to deny that they were bad. I had to take it to two mechanics for them to pay attention and fix the problem.. that took almost a month to get accomplished. They lost my title over 2 months ago and have still not replaced it nor done anything to try to rectify the situation. When I call to try to rectify this they hang up on me, they put me on hold and they do this for hours on end. Do not go here for a vehicle, I repeat do not go here!!!

  • Surprise just before purchase completed

1 out of 5 starsby Nonpurchaser on 01/03/2016

Visited Hudson Hyundai two days ago and spent several hours talking to salesman and test driving cars. We received a quote on one and the next day returned to purchase it. We traded in our car for part of the cost. Waiting almost three hours having them do paperwork----while there we transferred our insurance and contacted bank, etc. to ease the transfer and purchase. Nothing was happening so finally I asked someone there why the paperwork was held up. At that point someone came to tell us that the cost of the car was $1,200 more than was quoted because of "a difficulty in communication." We guessed that it was the salesman's error, but to spring this on us so far into the process we considered bad business and unethical. Because it was their error, we expected some movement on the amount but none was forthcoming. We left and will NEVER return to Hudson Hyundai.

  • lying, cheating, [non-permissible content removed]

    1 out of 5 starsby julias2 on 08/03/2015

So it's used cars, what did I expect. But man oh man. First off, the price on the website is loyalty members only, don't be fooled and lured into the dealership. Take that online price and add $1250 to it, that's their asking. Even after my first visit there no one brought this to my attention when we discussed price. That's a straight up lie guys. I hate to say that in this day and age its possibly because I'm female and my male partner wasn't present that day? What else to make of it. They strongly discouraged us from getting a independent inspection and when it found some underlying maintenance issues- they still refused to lower the price. Take your business elsewhere and save time, money and your dignity.
  • WORST DEALER. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND TIME

1 out of 5 starsby screwedbyhh on 06/26/2015

If it was possible, I would give them ZERO STARS. This is the worst dealer I have dealt with ever. They have the WORST customer service and are very unresponsive when trying to get a hold of them over the phone or email. After I purchased my car from them I had parked in the garage for 2 months because they were unsuccessful in getting me a registration. I bought a CPO Sonata from them and after driving 2000 miles it has transmission issues and is back in service for third time in the last 6 months.
  • Worst Sales staff

1 out of 5 starsby AsheeshT on 01/17/2015

I saw couple of cars on their website and called to check if they are available and interenet customer service lady confirmed me all three are available. So I go there in less than one hour and guess what best car among three is already SOLD out and it took the sales guy 45 minutes to find out that. Second car had scratches and dents on both sides and the worst experience came when the Sales guy refused to show the third car telling if we are ok paying $1250 plus $499 on top of advertised price then only he will show that car. I told that your customer rep told that your manager can give some discount on these extra dealer fees. He rudely left us in parking lot and told not to waste his time. This dealership was closest to my home and the reason I called them first. Big mistake! Lesson learned.
  • DO NOT BUY FROM HERE!!!

    1.8 out of 5 starsby joekool1 on 12/18/2009

This dealership will tell you anything they think you want to hear to make a sale. The general manager is a liar and unprofessional. He sets the example for the rest of his sales team! Don't let their smiles and hand shakes fool you. After turning in my 3-year lease, I was told during negotiations for financing a new Santa Fe limited that I would not need to make anymore payments on my returned lease (I had one payment remaining). A month later I kept receiving invoices from Hyundai Financing and phone calls from collections for an outstanding debt on ... you guessed it, my final payment for my returned lease. After being told by the sales associate at Hudson Hyundai that it was an error on their part and that it would be taken care of, I continued receiving invoices. They never called me to say they had decided not to make the payment. Two months and days of phone calls later with the dealership (and leaving work early to sit down with them because calls went unreturned) I was told they were not responsible for the final payment. It seems that because they "let go" their finance manager, they were not responsible and their was nothing in writing (I actually bought into their whole, honesty and integrity thing when I shook hands with this guy and signed a book of papers). The general manager actually requested I come in person to sit down (after I'd sat down with him two days earlier) and discuss the matter with him then would not meet with me. I waited 40 minutes for the salesperson to tell me that they weren't responsible. SO WHY HAVE ME LEAVE WORK EARLY TO COME IN AND TELL ME SOMETHING THAT COULD HAVE BEEN TOLD TO ME OVER THE PHONE?? The general manager then walked by without so much as an apology or a hello. (He should have just given me the finger). STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! I now need to salvage my credit rating and make a payment at a crucial time of the year.
  • Dishonest, Misleading, STAY AWAY!!!!!

    1.8 out of 5 starsby cpb2009 on 12/19/2009

HORRIBLE...DONT TRUST ANYTHING THAT COME OUT OF THEIR MOUTH!!!! I went to the dealership to find a nice used car. I had looked online and saw a nice min-van that I liked. When I got there I asked the sales associate (Michele), if they still had it. She said well, I dont know...would you be interested in a new car...(What Michele didnt know was that I had circled the dealership b4 I had entered and saw it for sale on the opposite side of the dealership.) I told her that I had three small children and need space....Yet she kept asking me if I wanted a 2 door coupe. Then she proceeded to asked me to put $1000 down but had failed to tell me anything about my financing options, rates, terms, or even a car.... I said to her that "I had as much as $1000 to put down but why should I give it to you, you havent done anything yet".... She said "i dont want my finance people to do hours of work and you decide not to buy".... At this point I was irrate with the poor customer service and dishonesty so the manager came to speak with me... He said that he had a Ford Tauruas that would be perfect for me.... When he told the sales associate, Michele, to get the keys she said that she couldn't find them. After running around with her head cut off, she returned with a 2007 Mazda sports car....I said what happened to the Ford sedan. She said this would suit me just fine. I have three children and two of them have car seats, how is a sports car suitable?!?!?! These people DONT care about the customer needs or wants....They feel they can be as dishonest as they want and you will buy what THEY show you..... There are alot of dealership that have decent cars out there, dont bother with this dealership no matter what kind of pre-approval letter they send you....You will be sorry.....STAY AWAY FROM HUDSON HYUNDAI in Jersey City, NJ!!!!!
  • Do not trust any quote they give you through email or on the phone

    1 out of 5 starsby ben56 on 06/13/2009

Do not truest any quote they give you through email or on the phone. They will find all kinds of excuses not to honor that quote. In my case, they asked for a price 2000$ more than the quote they gave me in email. All they are trying to do is to get you in the door, then try to make you accept a higher price. Do not trust their quote!
  • Decent but a few issues

3.2 out of 5 starsby pulaskirider on 08/03/2007

I bought a 2007 Accent at Hudson Hyundai. Though they didn't come down too much in price (it's hard on this vehicle to do that), they were friendly and knowledgeable and I got good financing. The main problem I have is that when I got to the "closing", they forgot about my request for gap insurance and were somewhat disingenous in terms of the closing. The inventory here is small but the facility is nice.
  • Either incompetence or consumer fraud!

Bought a Hyundai Accent. Loan was approved immediately. After a few days I get a call saying the loan needs to be modified because the Hyundai Bank has not approved it. They call me in and change the loan. The downpayment had to be increased. I get another call saying I need to come to the dealership again. I am told that now the loan term has to be modified. That gets done. Then the wait begins. It is almost 2 months now and I have still not received my license plates. My calls to Customer Service are being redirected to VoiceMail. I miss 2 office days to go to the dealership and inquire about my license plates. Nobody at the dealership has any idea about it. Have lodged a complaint with Hyundai Auto. and they have promised to look into the matter. Sheer incompetence or fraud? You choose!
  • Unprofessional

I have been buying cars from here since 2003. Recently they have come under new management. I have seen the place go from a great shopping environment to a crude nasty place that is only out to collect your money. This is only coming from one person-the General Manager- who has acted unprofessional and rude to others in front of me...Then he passed comments to me that left me apauled. While I was waiting for service he alluded to the fact that I cant interact with my sales associate because I am not buying anything. I was so upset I told him I wont be buying my 6th car from them...he ignored me...WOW, who does this guy think he is??????????? He will be short lived in his role...I will make sure of that. Truse me don't buy.
  • Was told 3 used car were available & they weren't when I showed up!

    1 out of 5 starsby cmr22 on 07/18/2012
    updated 08/05/2025

I called about 3 used cars advertised and made an appointment to see all three cars within a few hours of the call. After traveling 45 minutes to get to the dealership I was told all 3 cars were being serviced and I wouldn't be able to see them. Of course I got the line "I have other cars I can show you". Something just doesn't seem right about this dealership. I checked to make sure the cars were available- sounds like the old bait and switch. Seriously all three cars being serviced at the same time! I rated this one star because the program doesn't allow for zero stars.

  • Forcing me to take a new car that has scratches

Late in the evening they got done paper work quickly and after that they tried to give me a car that has scratches. I refused then they asked me to come back on Monday and resolve the issue. I asked them to hold the paper work before I come. Monday morning I also asked them to cancel it and let me chose the car and have contract signed. They just want to give me a new car with scratches or repaired one.
