I spoke with other salesmen at other dealerships. They did not match the… honesty, straight talk and professionalism I got from Ian and Freehold Toyota.Bought used car from dch
by Jim on 05/25/2021I had recently purchased a 2019 Cadillac Escalade from them and within one week after questioning their mismatch tires . they said that they put new tires on it . I questioned one of the tires they said it was passable meanwhile 4/32s is… not acceptable The tire won’t even hold air , it goes down to 11 pounds overnight i’ve called four times already and I’ve been put on hold each time they won't even return my phone calls I guess this is why they have reviews . also I have in writing an offer for my trade-in which was low at 6800.then when I got there they wanted to offer me 4000 . In a used car market where the trade-ins are valued higher than ever. I’m tired of people blaming not taking care of the customer on Covid so if this is how they wanna play , they get a bad review I'll buy my own tires when I spend $54,000 I shouldn't have to buy a tire on my own I would never buy another vehicle from DCH freehold Toyota .also the mgr Maria told me it was a Cadillac loaner which was a lie I found documentation in the vehicle after I purchased it from enterprise Rent-A-Car in Baltimore so it’s nothing more than a rental. horrible customer service. Take my advice and take your money elsewhere. Where you would be taken care of. Not to mention they wouldn’t go a dime on the vehicle reduction in price at all. They even tried to tack on 500. Charge for the etch which i refused to pay . I never trusted car dealers and this is exactly why I should’ve read other reviews on DCH Toyota Freehold, I should of bought my Escalade a Cadillac dealer and paid a couple of bucks more but I didn’t have the extra money they wanted and end up now I end up having to buy new tires for it. I guess it’s better than I have to foot the bill for a new set a tires so other people don’t have to get to experience what they do and treat customersAn experience worth every second!

I was carefully and comfortably taken care of throughout the entire process. I… now drive a car I absolutely love and can actually afford-two things I thought were mutually exclusive given my budget and lack of experience. They explained everything along the way with complete transparency and honesty. 10/10 would recommend anyone I know to visit them. A Sad End to a Promising Deal
by Informed Buyer on 04/22/2021About to sign a contract to order a new car when I noticed the extra $865 tacked on for "window etching" and "nitrogen in the tires". Some car dealers feel the need to pick the customers' pockets with these sneaky add-ons, which cost them… a few bucks so they are very profitable. Window etching is listed on AARP's website under "Frauds and Scams". Since normal air on Planet Earth is 78% nitrogen, why pay extra for a little more of it? A little extra nitrogen in the tires does nothing. As long as you keep your tires inflated, your fuel mileage will be fine. It will be no better with nitrogen. Another scam. Honestly, if they had left these charges off and just added a "This is Because You Looked Stupid and Gullible to Our Salesperson Fee", at least they would have been upright about what they were thinking. I gave them a chance to take the phony charges off the contract but they refused. Note the car wasn't even at the dealer yet, and had not had either "dealer upgrade" installed! They easily could have said, ""Sorry, we can take those off - we don't have to be greedy on every car sale", but instead, by their choice, they lost me that day. Why would I do business with a dealer with such ethical shortcomings? There are better, more honest dealers out there who don't fleece their customers.First off let me apologize for your misunderstanding with Tom. I listened to your recorded phone conversation with him, and his breakdown of the figures and option could have been better. First off, when we are dealing with someone from out of state, as you are, we try to give all the details before you arrive so there are no surprises on delivery. I understand your frustration as inventory is very limited especially on the RAV4 Prime you contacted us on, and I see your local area has almost zero in-stock and that’s why you were willing to fly to NJ for a RAV4 Prime. We do pre-install nitrogen on our inventory as our cold morning and warm days cause the vehicles on our lot and our local clients’ cars tire lights to go on with the drastic temperature changes. For this reason, we pre-install the actual nitrogen at no charge. The window etching is installed to deter a professional thief from stealing a car because they steal cars for parts, and glass cannot be sold off since it would be identifiable. This helps prevent theft on our lot as well. Both products are installed at zero cost to the consumer. Both products have optional warranty coverage offered to our clients for additional protection at a cost. The tire and wheel coverage offered with Nitro includes replacement tires if a flat is incurred. The Etch policy refunds the client $5,000 for a replacement vehicle if the car is stolen and not recovered. Tom is not a salesperson and does not get paid to sell cars. Tom handles incoming phone calls and emails to schedule appointments for the sales team. He should have given your call to either a salesperson or sales manager to better explain your options, and I am sorry that did not happen. He failed to explain the features and benefits of the optional products, but the right thing for him to do was to turn your questions over to our sales team to assist and explain the process better. I have spoken to him to make sure he is following the process and turning financial questions over to a Manager. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Don’t judge a book by it’s cover

While they put their noses in the air they had little to no concern about body damage of one of the used vehicles they were selling. They quickly dismissed us and tried throwing their weight… around and only could say we are a Fortune 500 company and that they did a 60 point safety check but some how missed the cracking patch job on the drivers side door and also the gas cap was broken on the vehicle. We were paying cash for a 30k vehicle. I know that may not seem like much to them but I believe ever sale should matter and at the very least respect the customers concerns about cosmetic damage on a vehicle that we drove 3 hours to see. We called the day prior and asked if there was anything wrong with the car and they couldn’t be bothered with it.Bait and Switch
by topolejc on 01/24/2021Wanted to buy a Certified Used vehicle and they tried to tack $10,000 worth of garbage onto the price of the car! I thought this stuff went out with the 80's but apparently it's still going on at DCH. Aside from trying to sell you a litany… of what they call "options", they also charge you for things they already did to the car before you got there but didn't include in the listed price, like nitrogen in the tires ($400) and etched glass ($500.)In the interest of fairness and full disclosure, the General Sales Manager did reach out to me and I was able to make a deal with none of the afore mentioned "extras" added on; just the price of the car, DMV fees, and the dealer's $699 documentation fee. Toyota finance also offered a great rate on a 60 month term.

I went to DCH Freehold the next day and got the deal I wanted, including… the $1500. rebate. An absolute pleasure working with a professional like Ian. Straight talk and no nonsense. Jim, I truly appreciate your feedback. After reviewing your purchase with your salesperson, who also happens to be your cousin, I have to respectfully dispute your concerns. First off, we discussed the tire tread upon point of sale and disclosed that the tires measured at 4/32 and passed our NJ safety inspection. At that point we gave an additional discount to appease your concerns. As far as your trade, we were given $4,000.00 from our wholesalers after disclosing the 3 accidents on the Carfax on top of the 208,000 miles. At that point we both agreed that you could get more selling it privately. Also, you were given and signed a copy of the Escalade's Carfax where it clearly discloses that this vehicle was an Enterprise rental vehicle as its prior use. Finally after saying that you would not put negative reviews on the web if we bought you new tires, we have respectfully declined to be held hostage for negative feedback.
