  • No protection

1 out of 5 starsby DJ on 08/19/2025

Had to bring my vehicle back three times before it was finally fixed. When I picked up my vehicle, it was filthy! Extremely dusty on the outside, and the driver's side door panel was filled with dusty footprints, the driver's side floor mat was also covered in dusty footprints. Nothing was put down to protect the floor mats. My passenger side front seat had been reclined as if someone was lounging in my passenger seat. I bought in my vehicle brand new, and it was returned to me looking seven years old.

Bill Taylor made sure that we got accommodated sooner and faster because I'm from out of town. He explained everything that had to be done and what was done for the issue I had with my truck. Thank you for the help.

They are very busy. If you are patient enough you will get the proper Toyota factory level work done. I’ve been a Toyota and Lexus loyalist for more than 30 years with numerous vehicles. I’ve never been disappointed in the actual service quality.
    • Tony, thank you for your patience and loyalty to Dolan Toyota! We're glad to hear that our service quality has consistently met your expectations. We appreciate having you as a valued customer over the years!

  • Poor Service

Watch out. They want their money. Not good service.

  • Incredible service experience! Like a 5 star Hotel stay!

5 out of 5 starsby DC on 06/29/2024

Incredible service experience. I have bought 10 cars in the last 4 years, and have never experienced a better dealership experience. They have REALLY improved they service experience. Believe me when I tell you Carson City Toyota service while ok, is NOWHERE near the level of service experience you get at Dolan. The difference feels similar to staying at the Hilton Resort Hotel vs. a Motel 6.
    • Thank you for sharing your feedback! We're delighted to hear that our service at Dolan Toyota exceeded your expectations and stood out among other dealerships. We appreciate the comparison and look forward to serving you again in the future!

  • Gaslighter's R US

1 out of 5 starsby Former Toyota fan on 06/12/2024

We USED to love Dolan/Reno Toyota and we bought 4 NEW cars from them and the last one we had for 8 years and we still have an older Corolla that is still in perfect condition over almost 15 years old. They used to care for people, and do great work but it seems they have gotten too big for their britches. They used to have a top notch service department but now it is a dangerous place to be and especially if you are a woman! The service people are serial killer slick, smile while they look over your head as they talk at you. They gaslight better than any seasoned narcissist could imagine! Our last experience was only the very last straw!!! I'll try to make this the shortest story possible but it's so much deeper and several calls that spaned over a few days. : We had a problem with our Prius that we bought new there and we were never notified by anyone of this recall that happened 4 years prior (we only had 5 years to be able to participate) so when our car had some warning lights that came on we found out they are known for being part of this recall which is a software update but can cause catastrophic damage to the whole hybrid system if not addressed (remember we were never notified and have had same address phone and email the whole time) so first when we brought it in they refused to do the recall because there was warning lights on.. I explained that my husband called Toyota and they confirmed these lights would be on. Then after I called Toyota again they explained the process..software update..diagnostic to ensure these lights weren't an actual problem or just software...fix what is wrong because the software involved interfered with stystems reporting properly and could cause hybrid system issues! So then Dolan called and said they would do me a favor and install the update, but that "it wasn't going to fix my problem". Then called and said they needed to run a diagnostic, for $200... then he said he founf a problem that has nothing to do with the recall...I said the diagnostic was part of the recall..back and forth to them and Toyota, then Dolan said my car was done I got a call back from Toyota and I told them i guess it's done.. the woman at Toyota said based on their computers it hasn't been done. That she would know when it was done. This being the 3rd experience with Dolan saying they did work that may or may not have been done! I have proof they DIDN'T do the work twice before (once my breaks had a known issue and they said they did the work but didn't...and it still made the noise while i was still there and the service manager told me they did what they knew to do and there was nothing else they were going to do... even going as far to say it was fixed even though it still made the noise.) Now having to do with a huge component of a prius and I can not take it to another dealer now because Dolan "said" it was done. We got rid of that car same day we got it back! Now we drive a Jeep! We will never buy a Toyota again which is so sad because we have had a committed relationship with them for over 25 years! If you are in Reno please do yourself a favor and go to Carson City for your Toyota dealership needs!!
  • Received my SUV in worse condition than when I dropped it off.

    1 out of 5 starsby Sean T on 01/27/2024

Since I purchased my vehicle from Dolan and they had performed basic services well enough in the past, I dropped off my 2019 Highlander Limited that has an issue with the radar where it was intermittently working. I believe that I was the reason it was out of alignment when I moved it while working on the grill. I could use it for cruise control about 50% of the time and it would imtermittently show a vehicle in front of me only to disappear and re-appear, so I dropped it off with the Dolan service center for recalibration and they charged me a $165 diagnostic fee, which I would call expensive, but since there is no way for the average car owner to perform any diagnostics whatsoever, there wasn't much choice but to accept. I provided photos to the service rep of the error messages appearing on the dash display and left it with them for the day. When I received a call back at COB they said they weren't able to duplicate what I saw (despite the photos I provided) and were not able to get the radar to see anything through the Toyota logo badge on the grill, so they recommended first replacing the plastic Toyota badge which would cost over $400, then they would re-evaluate the radar's operation. I said to wait and I would just deal with the way it was performing until I could afford a $400 piece of plastic. When I picked up the vehicle the next morning it looked like it had been kept outside under a tree as it was covered in speckles of sap. The worst part was not the tree sap, but the cruise control function was completely inoperative and all the messages I provided photos of, but they claimed they couldn't duplicate, were now constantly appearing on the dash display on continuous repeat obscuring the normal information shown on the screen and impossible to clear. I do not believe spending $165 for a non-diagnosis and receiving my vehicle in a more crippled state than when I left it with the 'professionals' is worthy of repeat business, but is worthy of a cautionary tale for the next would-be customer for this dealership.
  • Corolla nice.

    5 out of 5 starsby Mike G on 12/14/2023

Didn't think I would ever own a small car but I really like my Corolla. Sold my FJ and 4Runner when gas hit $5.00 a gallon. Dolan does a great job of maintaining it. I would recommend them to anyone.
    • Mike, we're glad to know you're enjoying your Corolla and that our team at Dolan Toyota has been able to help maintain it for you. We appreciate the recommendation and look forward to seeing you again soon!

  • Super star Shay !

5 out of 5 starsby Mary Barajas on 10/11/2023

Shay is one of the most helpful, courteous, kind, above and beyond person. I’m in between blessings and couldn’t afford what my car needed at this time , she took the time to investigate what my plan was , she cared enough for my needs not just the company’s and that says a lot of what Toyota is about.
    • Mary, we're so glad to know that Shay was able to assist you during your visit at Dolan Toyota. It's important for us that our customers feel cared for and understood. Thanks for sharing your experience!

  • Three strikes and you're out!

    1 out of 5 starsby dolan_sucks on 05/01/2016

Three strikes and you're out Dolan Toyota Scion in Reno, NV! My problems with this dealership began when I brought my 2010 Tundra in for an alignment and general servicing back in February. They performed the alignment, did the scheduled maintenance for 60,000 miles and inspected the vehicle. I was told when I picked up the truck that it had a small oil leak around the dipstick that wasn't a big deal and would be an inexpensive fix that could be done later. While driving home from the dealership my check engine light came on. I checked the codes and was given the code for a small evap leak of the emission system and thought that I'd bring it back to Dolan to get it checked out. I couldn't get back down to Reno until April and by that time the alignment had started to drift. I scheduled an appointment on 4/16/2016 for diagnostics on the CEL and alignment. I was told that the driver side subframe tab for setting the alignment had been damaged, the carbon canister for the emission system had gotten water in it and would need to be replaced and the previously diagnosed minor engine oil leak was actually a major leak and could compromise the life of the truck's V8 engine with potential catastrophic failure. They quoted me about $2,000 dollars for the work and said they would set me up with a rental car for a week. They told me that the truck's warrantee had expired and I would have to pay for the work. While driving home I made some phone calls to 2 Toyota mechanics I know and to the dealership where I bought the Tundra. It turns out that the emission system work is covered under warrantee and the diagnosis of the CEL had probably been made based upon codes only and it was likely that the carbon canister was not even the problem. I turned around and brought back the rental and asked Bryan Bough, the Toyota maintenance associate I was working with, about the warrantee. He wouldn't answer me - instead he had someone get my truck. When I asked for the final estimate of costs for the work to be done, he flat out refused to give it to me. So the following week I get a call from the maintenance manager, who had heard about my situation, asking me to give them a second chance. He told me that if I returned he would make things right by taking care of the engine oil leak under the warrantee and fix my alignment. In the meantime I had cleared the codes for the check engine light and bought a new gas cap. After 100 miles and a dozen or so starts the CEL had not turned back on. I return to Dolan and am told that the emission system is fine. They agree to repair the seals causing the oil leak. BUT the alignment problem would involve replacing the subframe, requiring a body shop and cost of $4,100. I am told by Bryan Bough that the damage could only have been done by a mechanic applying too much force while adjusting the alignment. I ask about the alignment work done at Dolan Toyota 2 months ago back in February. I had been to no other shop and nobody had touched my truck between when I had the alignment work done in February and when I returned on 4/16. He denies the damage had been done there and recommends that I make a fraudulent insurance claim so the work can be paid for by my insurance company. I then make calls to the service manager who refuses to talk to me or return my messages. I make a formal complaint to Toyota USA who does nothing but forward my complaint to the dealership. I cannot believe that Toyota USA would not do more about my situation. SHAME ON YOU TOYOTA! This Tundra is the 4th Toyota that I have owned. I've spent over $100,000 on Toyota purchases in my lifetime. Toyota makes a quality product, but I will never purchase another Toyota! As to Dolan Toyota, I just hope anyone who reads this review to decide whether to make a purchase or have servicing work done here to know who and what they are dealing with. Poor diagnostics and customer service. Personal dishonesty and encouraging clients to commit fraud... All to make a buck. Dolan Toyota.... No thank you! Never again!

  • Again, Outstanding

5 out of 5 starsby dotsme on 10/14/2007

Service department is just as awesome as sales department. You make an appointment and your they are ready to take your vehicle. Vehicle is delivered at the promised time, usually earlier than expected. If you need a ride, they are there immediately and they will pick you back up if you need them to. The service staff is knowledgeable and accommodating. They do not perform services that are not necessary, thus they do not rip you off. The pricing is fair and the estimates are accurate. Highly recommend this company for routine servicing as well as any necessary repairs. But... when you buy a Toyota, you don't need many repairs (smiles).
