This was my first time getting a car from the dealership, and I have never been so impressed by Kerry. He is an amazing salesman. Kerry helped me get the car I wanted and he also made sure we stuck within my budget. I would absolutely recommend Kerry to anyone! I was very pleased with Schicker Chrysler!

  • Ran My Credit Without Permission

I went to Schicker (formerly Barreth) on 3/17/17 to look at a vehicle. Our salesman was a man named Chuck. In trying to get some numbers on the price of the vehicle, as well as our trade, Chuck told us they couldn't start working numbers until we let him look at our credit. We came in with our own financing. We knew our rate at our bank and were planning on using that. He kept insisting that they could beat it. I am very protective of my credit, hence why I go in with my own financing. I don't want a dealership running my credit all over town trying to find a rate. Anyway, Chuck kept at it. He told me that they couldn't look for rates without doing a "soft pull" on my credit, even though I know my score and gave him that. When I questioned that, he said it was "like Credit Karma, it won't affect your credit...it's a soft pull". I had never heard of a dealership going off of something like that. I said no. He wouldn't give us any numbers, even with our own rate without doing it. He insisted over and over that it wasn't a "hard inquiry". Finally, I relented and said he could do it, if he was sure that it was not a hard inquiry, that I did not want them to do a hard inquiry on my credit. He assured me it was not. After asking me all the questions about personal information, he goes into the finance department. I started to worry that he was not just doing a "soft pull". I questioned him one more time and asked if he was doing an actual loan application. He said he was. A loan application is not a "soft pull" on my credit. The finance guys came out and agreed that it was a hard inquiry. We asked if they had done it yet. They said no. We said, in no uncertain terms, do not do it. That is not what we agreed to. Do not run my credit. They backtracked all over the place, blamed the salesman for giving us bad information, and told us they would not do it. We left. I got a notification from my credit monitoring service this morning that I had FOUR new hard inquiries to my credit, lowering my score. This dealership ran my credit to four different banks without my permission. They assured me that they weren't going to, and yet they did. Do not deal with the dealership. They will say anything to get you to do what they want. I will be reporting them to the BBB.

Spent considerable time discussing the value of my trade in. Was asked by the salesman what I wanted to get for my trade, $7K, $8K? I said I would like to get $8K. Was told they couldn't get more than $8k for it when they sell it so they would only give me $7K.After a few trips back and forth by the salesman (supposedly talking to someone who was pricing my trade) I agreed to the deal. When I got home I checked their website and found my trade listed for $11995.00 and since then they have listed it for $19995.00. I consider their "appraisal" of my vehicle an outright lie.
