  • Purchase of a new 2017 Prius Three

    5 out of 5 starsby onem00se on 02/09/2017

Hi, Mt purchasing experience was completed without any problems at all. My salesman Joseph Nichols was very knowledgeable on his product and if I asked a question he didn't exactly know the answer to he didn't make something up he went and asked another associate for the correct answer. The entire process was not stressful at all because of all the people working at this dealership. I will recommend this dealership to my family and friends.
    • Thank you for your wonderful review! We're happy to hear that Joseph provided you with the excellent service you deserve. Our top priority is providing our customers with an experience like no other! We appreciate your business, please let us know if we can be of help again. We're here for you!

  • Can't be trusted

    1 out of 5 starsby Steve824 on 08/02/2016

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS DEALER. Before I start, I have called the dealership multiple times with no response. I always get transferred to voicemail of the managers. a lot of phone tag. All I get is voicemail. Then when they finally call me back I can't answer my phone so when I return their call of course they don't answer. I leave a voicemail and this was last week And still no call back. I dealt with Sal (person who sold my car and told me it has a third row which it does not) and David the sales manager. So of course this review does not reflect everyone that works there since they were the only two that I seem to only be able to get a hold of about my issues. I made the mistake of buying from this dealership. They lie to you just to make a sale. They also will be nice until after the sale they don't care if they made a mistake. They lied to me about a feature in the vehicle and after the sale they don't care. The response I get from them and the tone is not acceptable. They basically told me too bad, I got screwed over. Nothing they will do for me and they really didn't sound like they cared. They told me because of the price I paid and looking through the paperwork that they won't do anything to fix it. I shouldn't have trusted them. They will also tell you that they are the only people that can give 4 years of free maintenance and 1 year of all this extra stuff. It's a gimmick. The 4 years of free maintenance is offered at every Toyota dealership. I talked to multiple Toyota dealerships in multiple cities after the fact. They will tell you that's "impossible" that they are the only ones that offer it. Straight up lie. So not the type of people you want to deal with. And the 1 year of their "jay Wolfe advantage program" is a gimmick. Not really worth the value they say it is. Of course everything is going to seem great when you want to buy a car. After the sale is done they don't care about you. If they make a mistake or if they just simply really lied about the feature, they blame it on me and don't own up to it. Even when we have multiple family members that buy cars from them. For sure going to warn my other family members as well.

    1. 5000 miles oil change just in speaking, not on any of documents 2. not return my check after get a new Money Order, my friend have to spending time go to dealership 3. the temporary license plate just 28 days and we need wait 21 or more days to receive documents to application Title, so we must finish all of Title works in a week. 4. They offer a $25 Walmart gift card when you make an appointment for test drive, but I was waited more than 2 weeks, receive nothing 5. Before purchase my new car, they service good, response most email quote or questions in 48 hours. after purchase, the time before more than 7 days. Totally all, 3-star They DAMAGE car a little cheap (~1.5% discount), so I maybe refferal friend to there again

  • Sales Department Not to be Trusted

1 out of 5 starsby royinpc on 11/21/2014

Made a deal over the telephone with the salesperson. He was off the next day and called me upon his return notifying me that the sales manager had allowed the sale to another buyer. I had nothing in writing, but emails and the word of the sales person. He was quite apologetic, but I would advise against anyone dealing with Jay Wolfe Toyota of West County. They lack integrity.

  • Process went smoothly

4.6 out of 5 starsby kelc on 11/02/2010

They had the vehicle I was looking for, agreed on price, no hassles. Saleperson was professional, I told him what I was looking for regarding make & model. He showed me the vehicles, didn't try to steer me to a higher priced vehicle. No hard sales approach.

  • Everything Seemes Very Fair

4.2 out of 5 starsby flowerysususan on 06/14/2009

I sent a request from Edmunds to Jay Wolfe Toyota of West County and they responded quick with what I think was very fair comapred to the other dealers I requested. They had the car I wanted and I bought it. Shop them if you want.

  • Bad Pricing

3 out of 5 starsby henbacker on 08/09/2007

They have a huge selection on their lot, but I have to wonder if it is because they never sell a car except to real suckers that will pay whatever these guys want them to. Asked them to beat an under invoice quote that I had already gotten from several area dealers and their response was a quote of more than $1000 *over* invoice. They refused to budge from that quote, too!
    • If henpacker had quotes from other dealerships why would henpacker deal with this dealership? Why the hard feelings? They missed the sale...simple as that. My experience (very limited) with e-mail inquiries/quotes has been "Come in and we'll talk" not any firm quotes, etc. Have not tried Edmund's but will the next time. Anyway, I'm really depressed and am feeling suicidal so I think I'll go drive a Toyota. Goodby cruel world (the Rams have let me down for the last time).

    • My name is Stephanie and I really wish to defend my dealership. As the Internet Manager of one of St. Louis's largest Toyota dealerships I deeply regret that our pricing over three years ago did not meet the expectations of this posting member. For over 5 years we have lead the charge of on line assistance with customer inquiries and have the same ambition to lead on line customers with upfront fair pricing, prompt service and friendly email communication. The easiest part of my job is to provide a fair selling price for new Toyota's. The hard part is to make sure I have a vehicle that suits one's needs. Maybe next time henbacker is in the market for a Toyota we can be more helpful. Kind Regards

    • I agree with the people that wrote about the heavy pressure that I experienced with the finance dept. Until the time I experienced the finance dept, the experience was fine. The pressure to buy the warranty and gap insurance was long and manipulative. "This will only add $5 to your payment etc" but didn't mention that this cost and extra 3000 plus gap insurance. I did buy and will cancel. My lawyer said I am able to cancel this extra cost of the vehicle. The finance man had to be pressured to tell me that it really cost $3000 and didn't mention the $695 gap insurance. I have had 2 camrys, each lasting 10+ years without all of the pressure like this.

  • Not trustworthy - [non-permissible content removed]

They told me via an email that they have multiple colors to choose from when I went to dealership next day they only had one color. They promised me that they will get me the color and I deposited $6000. Monday they told me that car is the truck and you can pick it up on Wednesday. Wednesday they told me that deal fell through come and buy other car. The only thing I know that they put me out of market since it was last week of the month and they know next month in Oct they will sell me other car with more profit. This dealership is totally not trustworthy.
    • We did everything we could to satisfy this customer. Customer only wanted 1 color on a 2013 model that Toyota is no longer producing. We went to trade for the only one available like he wanted and found out the vehicle was a demo with 5,000 miles on it. We offered several other colors, but customer declined. We provided a full refund of customer's deposit.

  • Bully Free

I recently had the delightful experience of purchasing a beautiful certified Corolla. I dreaded the task of dealing with "car sales people". From the minute I walked into Jay Wolf it was a comfortable and bully free experience. The fact that their waiting areas are five star does not hurt-lunch and a comfy couch while you wait-who could say no. I am sure that all the sales personnel are equally knowledgeable and friendly but My sales Rep Jason was wonderful and helped me through all the confusing components to buying a new used car. I would 100% recommend Jay Wolfe for you next new car and Toyota service.

I brought my mother into this dealership to buy a pre-owned car after her car was totalled. The salesperson, Tyler and managers were professional and friendly and were mindful of my time. Tyler helped my mom find the right car in her price range. He showed her how everything worked on the vehicle and They gave her a great deal. She was extremely happy with her purchase and although she doesn't live close to the dealership, she brings it 30 miles here for service. I would recommend Jay Wolfe to anyone looking for great sales professionals and honest and fair pricing.
    • On behalf of Jay Wolfe Toyota, I would like to express our gratitude both for your loyal business and for taking the time to write this marvelous review. Delivering outstanding customer service to each one of our customers will always be our number one priority. I am happy to hear Tyler and our managers were been able to serve you and your mother through your Toyota purchase. Thank you again for your business and recommendation. We look forward to working with you again. Sincerely, Rob Feuerbacher – rfeuerbacher@jaywolfe.com

  • One of the Best Toyota Dealerships

5 out of 5 starsby brandmann on 02/04/2014
    updated 08/05/2025

Let me just say Jay Wolfe Toyota Scion of West County is proably one the best Dealerships in town. I've purchased two Toyota Camry from here after being turned down by just about every dealership near by. I purchase my first used 2003 Toyota Camry back in 2011 and my salesman would pretty straight forward. Each time I went back to this Dealership for maintenance everyone was great friendly, they offer you snacks while you wait on your car to be down. I just recently purchase a 2011 Camry a week ago, again after being turned down by every dealership near by. No one wanted to trade my 03 Camry because of the High miles which is kind of understandable, but for the salesman to not acknowledge kind of tick me off. So with all that being said, if you are a big fan of Toyota's and Scions and you're about business and really want to purchase a car go to Jay Wolfe Toyota Scion of West County you won't be sorry.
  • Doesn't Value Customers Time

I went to this dealer because they had the vehicle I was looking for. I got the internet quote and went from there. They tried to low balled me on my trade and came up after making me sit in the show room for a while. Then they tried to screw me on the financing. Again they came down after i wasn't happy. The bottom line is if they values their customers time they wouldn't try to screw them right off the bat. Give a fair offer and word of mouth will go far. I was at the dealer for over 3 hours to complete the deal. Then I got bombarded with phone calls and e mails about my experience. Its like they were surprised that when they [violative content deleted] someone they were expecting them to not know they [violative content deleted].

Buying a car is not a fun experience and I would not expect it to be. My time at Jay Wolfe wasn’t bad, and from previous car buying experiences this would rate as a positive. Our salesman was knowledgeable and showed us around the lot, We had come in with three specific autos that I had researched over the internet, looked at them and took one out, no real pressure or any type of bait and switch. It did take at least three hours to get the deal done. The finance department did try to up-sell the warranty but I expected that. What I did not expect was the talk about the electronic sensors and other electronic issues as being problematic with Toyota. I find that in my mind this hurt the brand and shouldn’t be used as a sales tool when you are trying to get repeat customers.
  • Not Trustworthy

    1 out of 5 starsby autobuyer5 on 04/02/2013
    updated 08/05/2025

After we came to a deal on our new car, we were introduced to a financial manager who attempted to sell us the extended warranty. He said Toyota cars are not as reliable any more as there are more electronic elements and so forth (I have a Toyota that I drove for 20 yrs and had no major repair). I feel like I was tricked into the deal without the full knowledge of the declining quality of Toyota cars. I spent hours and hours in this dealership but was not told about the extended warranty before I cut the deal. If I had known about the declining quality, I would not have gone to this dealership in the first place. In essence, they were telling me all the good things about the car and turned around to warn me about possible breakdowns within the extended warrenty period after the deal is cut to get me to buy the warranty. This dealership is totally not trustworthy. I will give them zero star if I can.
