A+ on both sales and service

The sales team is very friendly and open about their pricing structure - no haggling. I feel like I got a fair deal on my first new car. The service team really came through for me recently when I had a problem with a leaking tire that I had had checked elsewhere and was told there was nothing really wrong with it. Well, the team found a big screw in the tire that was causing the problem. I was on my way to an out-of-town meeting so they took me right away, found the problem, and identified the solution. I had to leave the car with them, but then they also gave me a free rental to use. I was bowled over. Yes, when I went to my next oil change, it was a bit more expensive than elsewhere, but for the service and cleanliness and comfortable waiting area, it was well worth it!

    We had looked online at the vehicle before going to the dealership, called to make sure it was still there and they had it ready to go for a test drive with us as soon as we got to the dealership. Warren was great at answering all our questions about the vehicle, and making this a smooth transition for us into the new vehicle. It was a great experience.

    I purchased three Subaru vehicles from this dealer and all three of them are serviced at Walser Subaru as well. I truly enjoy the personal approach and the extra effort all of the service department staff are putting into their work. Great location, great service, and great quality vehicles.

    The best Subaru dealer in the twin cities state I have worked with, and I visited them all! Knowledgeable staff and helpful non aggressive sales staff. Very fair prices on vehicles, no hidden costs.

  • Sold a car out from under me--during my purchase!

    I cannot believe this! trying to complete an SUV purchase with this dealership, and all THEY needed to do was send a purchase agreement to my bank so the bank can cut the check for me to pick up and bring back to them. Things had gone well at the beginning of this whole process but then I was not getting an update on the purchase agreement. I was then told 10 more minutes by "Robert" in sales . The original salesman David Lavanger disappeared, and went off with another customer before finishing with me. I had to talk with the Sales Manager Sean to find out what was going on, only to be told they just sold the car. SERIOUSLY??? I’m literally waiting on YOU so we can finish this deal and you sell it out from under me? You are a “one price” store and I was paying full price. While talking with this sales manager Sean and trying to figure out what happened, his mannerism was as if what they did was completely ok/ethical. He really gave me the impression he didn’t give a hoot. Nope, he didn’t. He simply repeated “it’s not our policy to hold cars.” All they needed to do was send that purchase agreement so my bank could cut the check. This sale couldn’t have been any easier for them and they blew it. Needless to say I am not happy with Walser at all. Their slogan is “The Walser Way.” If this is really their “way,” I want nothing more to do with them again. Good luck if you decide to buy a car from them. Better hope you lock it down so they can’t sell it while you’re waiting on them to write up your agreement.

  • Excuses, excuses

    Walter Subaru gave me several lame excuses as to why my 2010 Legacy was going through headlights every 6 months. Each new excuse was more ridiculous than the one before. I stopped having oil changes and regular maintenance there because their service reps were so pushy and condescending.

    I bought my first car from Walser Subaru, a 2008 Black Subaru WRX. I don't understand the car business, so appreciated not having to trudge through negotiations. The oil changes for life, free car washes, and 10 cents of gas savings are nice, too. Also, because I'd serviced with them before on my trade I had a few dollars towards the new vehicle through their rewards program. They also did the trade evaluation/drive with me in the car, and showed what prices were like on other similar vehicles throughout the state. When there, I got prompt attention and suggestions based off the features and functionality I was looking for. Everyone was friendly, and congratulated me on the purchase, too! Definitely a great experience for a first time buyer.

    I resently purchased a new car...not at Walser Subaru but at another Walser Automotive Group dealer. I just wanted to give Kevin S. credit for explaining the Walser business model. I'd be hard pressed to find a better car dealer than Walser or a nicer more informed salesman than Kevin S.

    I was impressed with the way the Walser dealerships work together. The sales rep & team lead from Walser Toyota helped me through the pros/cons of paying off my lease early so I could get a Subaru with all wheel drive. The rep drove me to the Walser Subaru dealership where Chris H. and his team lead took over. I felt the experience was great. Pat Lee

    I recently purchased a Subaru Outback from Walser. Maggie Jackson was my salesperson. In short, the entire experience was handled in a pleasant and professional manner. Maggie is knowledgeable, courteous, personable, and very easy to work with. During the sales process she was backed by a Walser team that worked hard to earn my business--and they succeeded. Walser prides itself on its no-haggle appoach to negotiation; and a discounted price is posted on each vehicle. In addition, they do their homework on trade-ins, and they make an honest and reasonable offer up front. And, the Subaru Outback is truly outstanding!

    I went into the dealership seeking a test drive of an Impreza for the early part of my car shopping research. Before I could take three steps within the door someone had greeted me and found a saleswoman to help me. I told them what I wanted to see, and while they did not have the exact vehicle in stock, I was shown another with more options (always more, right?). While waiting for the car to arrive from the lot, all the staff was courteous even after I told them that I was still in the initial phase of car shopping, that my purchase wouldn't happen until late spring - the day of my visit was in early February. The test drive required a chaperone to take the car off the lot and follow an unofficial preset "track" east along Cliff Rd, south on Portland Ave, east on Hgwy 13, and then north along 35W back to the dealership, one that showed how the car handled uphill acceleration, highway entrance acceleration, and displayed the AWD capability (snowy parking lot). During the test drive, the saleswoman also took the time while we switched drivers from her to me to show me a few of the hatchback features.
