Very poor customer service
by Jon Marken on 02/14/2022They had just the car we wanted, a 2016 Prius, so we drove four hours to get there, making sure of all the details before we went. Here were the problems: 1. They said the car was ready but it wasn’t, still in detailing when we arrived. It… took FIVE HOURS to buy the car as a cash sale! Long waits between every step. At the financial checkout (though we weren’t financing) we were asked all the same questions we had already answered. (We watched one finance guy pick up our file, scan it, and put it back down; we waited 45 minutes for another and were told the first wasn’t interested in a cash deal as there wasn’t any money in it.) 2. They added a $1200 reconditioning fee for some basic maintenance work and about a $450 cleaning fee they blamed on covid. 3. It was a Prius 3 though all their advertising said it was Prius 4. At least I was able to use that leverage to remove the two fees above. 4. The next day we got an email offering us the car we just bought for $700 cheaper. 5. As the 60-day tags got close to expiration, we started calling. And calling. We would get transferred to a phone whose mailbox was full. Finally, on the day of expiration, FedEx brought us…another temporary tag! 6. When that tag neared expiration we started calling again. Turns out they had tried to call us a couple of weeks earlier but had one digit wrong in our phone number. I checked the original paperwork and the phone number was correct on every form. At least this time we did get someone helpful on the line and finally got our license plates. 7. The car was missing one wheel cover. The sales rep said it had been ordered and would be shipped to us with the license plates. I checked on that several times and he always said “it’s right here in my desk drawer.” It didn’t come, sales rep is gone, no one knows anything about it. Bottom line: this place is too big and too disorganized to give good customer service. Try someplace else or, if they have just the car you want as they did in our case, brace yourself for lots of frustration.Excellent Service

Although it eas not in stick he was able to coordiante with another Hyundai dealership in New York and i had my vehicle the… next day. Jack J. The sales staff and finance department was great and handled my interest in a timely fashion and looked for the best way of satisfying my goal of being able to find a car within my budget. by Gordon on 10/01/2019Do not shop for a car at this dealership under any circumstances. The sales tactics at this dealership are deceptive and deceitful. Right now I am even questioning the legality of my sales experience. On Sunday 9/15/2019 I was prepared to… purchase a pre-owned 2019 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk with my 78 year old father. After selecting the vehicle with our salesman Lou we negotiated a price with the sales manager Thomas. The price agreed upon was $24002. We decided to finance through the dealership since we had good credit. After waiting over an hour we were ready to sign the paperwork. We went into the office and the female finance manager told us our rate was 7.06%. This was most likely from a sub prime lender who she did reveal. Then we were told the amount financed was in excess of $28,500. She told us our deal was now contingent on buying a warrantee and gap protection valued at $4290. Bottom line up front, warranties and gap protection are options. I had to go into the customer lounge to retrieve the sales manager Thomas who was watching the football games to get an explanation of why now at signing the price was different than what was agreed upon. He told me he was not authorized to sell the car at the agreed upon price and he would have to talk to his manager who was off that day. Thomas tried to make amends after he was exposed for his deceit by saying he would call me the next day to close the deal if he got the OK from the Used Car Manager. I declined because I did not want to waste anymore time with this dealership. We left and went to the Toyota dealership up the street and purchased a vehicle immediately afterwards and we got a lower interest rate with a prime lender. To make a long story short the sales manager and the dealership is dishonest and treads the line of legal practice selling cars. My next letter is going to the BBB.Best Buying Experience Ever!
by KellyG on 02/09/2019We recently bought a 2018 Sonata and couldn't be happier. It has been 22 years since we bought a new vehicle. We have been researching many vehicles over the last few months so this process of visiting many dealerships was weighing heavy… on me. My husband spoke with Jair on the phone, he was pleasant, they had a good conversation so we decided on a Friday night to go and look at the vehicle. Jair was so friendly, helpful and professional. It was refreshing, not your typical sterotyped salesperson. He was not pushy and did not hagle. We took a test ride, he knew everything about the vehicle. We were offered many incentives and 0 percent financing so we took the deal and purchased the car. Instead of trying to hurry up and get out of there on a Friday night, Jair spent quite some time educating us on the awesome electronic system and the many perks the vehicle had to offer. Brian, the sales Manager was also very polite and very easy to work with. If you are looking to purchase a new vehicle, I highly recommend you go to Ourisman Hyundai of Bowie. I live in La Plata and have been to several dealerships over the last few months from Manassas, Tysons, Annapolis, and Waldorf. I wish we would have went to Bowie first and met with Jair, that would have saved us so much time, effort and anguish. Thank you Jair and Ourisman Hyundai of Bowie!Buyer Beware
by Christian on 01/11/2019Their internet prices are a scam. I found when I got the out the door price I did not qualify for any of the incentives. Fine, even though I was never asked by Norman if I qualified for them. A car listed on the internet at $16861 was… almost $23,000 OTD. After doing the math adding the approx. $1600 for incentives I did not qualify for and freight plus approx. $1600 for tax/tag/title the price should have been approx. $20,000. I told the sales manager (Mark Cooper) I would pay that price. He said that there was no way he could get close to that. That means even if I met all the incentives they were never going to honor the internet price. After reviewing the Code of Maryland Regulation web site, I believe this dealership violated a couple of requirements in Sec 11.12.01.14 Dealer Advertising and Trade Practices. I will be pursuing a complaint with State Attorney General's Office.Outstanding Experience!!!!

We negotiated a price over the phone that was not only honored on arrival, but actually ended up being a few dollars less. My entire experience was the best… I've ever had in purchasing a car. My salesperson, Renee Cameron, was extremely knowledgeable and professional. Prior to my visit, she returned every call and text within minutes. Once on the floor she answered every question. Her explanation of the car's features was outstanding. Everyone I met at the dealership was extremely courteous and professional from the service manager to the financial person. I cannot express enough how well my entire experience went. I would highly recommend this dealership and its personnel - especially Renee.Tucson 2016

Awesome Buying Experience

This was a no-haggle great buying experience and I believe I got a very good deal. I do not like to be badgered by sales staff and the salesman… provided just the right amount of information. I felt like I got my questions answered without a hard sell. I visited the dealership twice, once to test drive and once to purchase. There was no pressure when I left the dealership after the test drive and I definitely felt like I would be well cared for if I chose to do business with them. After test driving other car brands and Hyundai's at other Hyndai dealerships in the area, I chose to do business with Ourisman Hyundai of Bowie. I had very specific requirements for the type and color car exterior/interior I wanted and they worked with me until they found the car that met my specifications. This was something that the other dealerships didn't seem to be able to do. I had to take what they had on the lot or keep moving. Ourisman Hyundai of Bowie had no problem getting me the car I wanted even if it meant driving to New Jersey to get it!!! Turns out while swapping a car for another customer they inquired and found one that also met my specifications at a local dealership. It was just being driven off the back of the trailer. Someone might call that dumb luck, I call that persistance on behalf of my salesman. I had done my research on the car and the pricing. They recognized that and gave me a very good price after jsut two rounds of negotiating. The deal brokering and financing was hastle free. I look forward to checking out the service department. If the experience with servicing my car is anything like the buying experience, I'll be leaving Ourisman Hyundai of Bowie with another smile on my face. My salesman, Will, was courteous, knowledgeable and punctual. I made an appointment for a test drive and the car was… ready, when I got there. I did not feel pressured to buy. Will was there to show me the car and answer any questions that I had. I think that I got an excellent price on the car that I purchased. The financial person, Terri,was also very pleasant to deal with. It did not take me very long to deal with the paper work. I would highly recommend this dealership to anyone looking to buy a car.
