  • Never Again

    1.8 out of 5 starsby wheels18 on 03/22/2009

I will never go back to Honda of Annapolis. Recently my cousin had been involved in an accident and his car was totaled, so we went out one evening to shop for his replacement car. We had visited other dealerships and had only received decent service but nothing compared to what happened at Honda of Annapolis. We went in to look around, we were asked by the receptionist if we needed any help and we said no, we just wanted to look at the different cars available. While looking at the vehicle we were approached by a very rude salesman, who insisted on asking us lots of questions about when he'd be purchasing the vehicle and what he was driving now. My cousin asked for a brochure and when the salesman returned he asked when he'd be bringing his dad in, my cousin replied I'm not sure, I've gotta see if I'm even going to like the car, the salesman responded, then why are you here? You're not even old enough to be in here (he was turning 18 next week, and there was an adult waiting for us in the car) My cousin said, Excuse me? The salesman said you don't belong here, you heard me the first time. He then said take your smart mouth and get out! He literally kicked us out of the dealership! I will never return there, personally my family has purchased 5 Honda's from that dealership in the past, the last was in 2004 when we realized it was going down hill, but who knew it had gotten so bad? Worst experience I have ever had at a car dealership. I now go to [other dealerships], where I am treated pretty well.
    • Had a similar experience visiting this dealership with my girlfriend. Simply wanted to take an initial look at the Fit. We were pressured with all sorts of questions regarding our intent in a very condescending tone. Salesman kept repeating "What are you trying to accomplish today?" ... look at a freaking car to see if we like it you moron. Despite his rudeness, we wanted a test drive because we were genuinely interested in trying the car. He hopped in the back, and began to instruct me with directions ... never had this happen before, but ok ... after missing a turn, he starts yelling at me from the back seat why wasn't I listening to him? What is his problem I wondered uncomfortably? He quickly admitted that there were no tags on the car and he would get in trouble so had wanted to stay off the main road! Never again, indeed!

  • Ridgeline RTS Purchase

3.8 out of 5 starsby danparla on 07/23/2007

Very easy transaction. Salespeople not completely versed in the product, but friendly and willing to look things up when they don't know the answers. Matched trade for my CR-V from CarMax and matched my insurance companies price on the Ridgeline. Couldn't immediately produce Honda extended warranty information --- pushed warranty from Fidelity. Did eventually find a brochure. Added wheel locks for $149 when Honda list is $79. Can't find the mud flaps, but I guess those too are over priced. In spite of some small glitches, transaction was smooth without a lot of back and forth on price. Like all car deals, it pays to come to the table informed.

  • WASTE OF TIME! Take your business else where

Worst experience EVER! I worked with these people for over 2 weeks when we finally came to an agreement and they put it IN WRITING I drove from Northern Virginia across the beltway during rush hour only to have them no longer honor our written agreement. After listening to 1.5 hours of lies I packed up my things and walked out disgusted and with the sense that I have wasted countless hours for nothing.

  • Great service and a great deal!

I walked in not going to buy a car... but just browse. However, by the end of it I left with a brand new Honda Civic EX. It was a great purchase and the people at the center helped me along. The sales Associate I worked with, Kevin, did his best to give me the best deal and was patient for the many hours we looked up information and statistics in order to get the car off the lot that day. It was a very trying experience as a first time buyer but he made it work well and lessened some of the stress that comes with buying something this major. In the end, a new car was bought and I am happy.

Bought a new Fit and after the mountain of paper was handed the keys. As i got ready to drive away I noticed a ding in the front quarterpanel and scratches in two other places--evidently nobody from the dealer had taken the time to check the car over. They fixed the problems three days later, which put us outside the 5-day walk-away-from-this-fiasco window. Got the car home on Thursday night and while parking our Subaru behind the Fit, noticed in the headlights yet another scratch on the bottom of the bumper, that was not easy to see walking around the car. Took it back to the dealer and this guy who until now had had no involvement starts shouting that he had checked he car after the last fixes, pointing to a parking spot where he allegedly checked it and was 100% sure the scratch was not there when we picked up the car. Only thing is that we watched the car zoom up to the front of the dealership from the back lot, when the fixes were made and this weasel with the eastern european accent never got out of his chair, just inside the door. He even bragged how much money he makes still refused to fix the scratch. He was very rude and aggressive but finally got what he wanted-- for us to leave without Hona of Annapolis doing the honest thing and standing by their product. Avoid these [non-permissible content removed] like the plague they are; have since read positive reviews of nearby dealers. If your car is not PERFECT when you are handed the keys (and only you will be checking, so avoid rainy days and only buy in bright sunlight) tear up the contract and ignore anything they promise. Once you a past the 5-day mark there's no easy way to reset the clock.

  • Warning - do not shop at Honda of Annapolis

I dropped by Honda of Annapolis to look at a used Cherokee and was greeted by the salesperson. Another guy was looking at it and I waited until he left. The salesman seemed fine at first and I took a test drive. When evaluating my trade-in, he pointed out every little scratch and devalued it inch by inch. I was told it probably needed a new paint job, asks if I was sure it wasn't in an accident because a bolt has some point chipped off, etc. During the price negotiation, Andre (sales manager) became loud and very aggressive. When we were close to a deal, I said that I would use my own financing and not go through them, at which point Andre said "forget it", snatched the paper with the deal on it, and walked away. He told me as I walked out "You don't want to buy a car, you want not to buy a car." The next day, I received a call from their dealership from a guy that said he was in their "management team." He said they wanted my business and were willing to come down in price. I agreed to come back in that night and drove all the way to their dealership. When I got there, another sales manager (I forget his name) told me that the truth is that they don't think my car is worth what they were going to give me the day before. He asked if the trade had to be part of the deal, at which time I told him that it did. He asked me to wait a minute and when he got back, he told me that he just called the guy who was looking at the Cherokee when I first got there yesterday and he was willing to pay full price for it. He said the guy would be in the next morning, but if he didn't show they'd call me. Well, he showed up and bought the vehicle because I called in the afternoon and checked just in case. Why would they call me, tell me they'd come down more in price if I could just come back in, and then while I'm trying to work the deal, they call the other person in play to see what they could get out of him? There are plenty of Honda dealers around (, Honda of Bowie,Browns, Oursman, Odonnel) - do yourself a favor and go see them if you need a new Honda. If it's a used car you're looking for, there are dozens of dealerships out there.

  • Should have read Edmunds.com reviews before going here

Very disappointing! I was straight forward with Sal from the very beginning about my best offer (edmunds.com target price) but he wanted to play games and avoid answering my questions directly. He used foul language a number of times and got frustrated with me a few times when I wanted to talk straight numbers. Despite all of this he tried hard and was accommodating with my schedule and requests, so I still gave him the opportunity to make the sale. When they wouldn't meet the offers that I provided all along, I ended up buying somewhere else, and got 1500 more for my trade and no games! When I let him know I was out of the market he was very rude on the phone. He called back later and I answered because I thought he was calling to apologize, he was rude and hung up on me. This confirmed that my decision was the right one, but this experience still bothers me and has dampened my excitement about getting a new car.

I have never left a car dealership feeling good about my purchase until now. I have owned four cars in my life. Two Toyota's and two Honda's. I alternate brands with each purchase. I researched cars for a year and found the Honda CR-V to be the right choice for me. I researched which dealer to go with based on reviews like this. Based on the dealer reviews I thought Annapolis would NOT be place for me to purchase my car. Boy was I wrong. My Toyota was vandalized and I knew it was time to get a new car. Honda Of Annapolis was my first call once I returned home from the robbery. I was shaken and ready to buy. Matt the manger helped me with everything I needed and offered the best price on the phone. He knew I was serious about making a purchase and was not going to let some other dealer win me over. He had the car I wanted delivered from another location so that I could havethe right model in the preferred color choice. Jimmy was my sales rep and he offered me top dollar for my trade in and there was very little back and forth on the price. Since there was no room to drop the cost of the car we were able to work in some add on's. I can't say enough about Jimmy he went above and beyond to make me a satisfied customer. He offered a great deal, transferred my plates, cleaned polished and sharpie them up for me, helped my set up my blue-tooth and showed my how all the features work from top to bottom. Jimmy also made arrangments with my ex husband to sign over the ownership of our jointly owned trade in. I have NEVER had such great service. Thank you Jimmy. I did get the extended warranty which I have always seen as a rip off but the deal I got I truly believe was in my best interest. I hope I can still say that eight years from now! In years past I have always wondered if I had left a better deal on the table once the sale of my car was complete. Not this time

I went there and negotiated a deal but did not get where I wanted to be so I left. I was called the very next day by the salesman and told they could get closer. I came in that evening and they put the same deal in front of me like I was an idiot. I lived more than 30 minutes away so it was not convenient. Owner was there and very unprofessional and acted like I should be happy to buy from him. I left and ended up buying from another dealer. When I told them what happened they said that owner sends us deals all the time by treating customers that way.

Salesmen worked a good deal up front, delivered what we desired quickly, cruised through the paperwork very quickly, and checked up on us. Bought a new Pilot in Mar and a new Accord in Oct. Would highly recommend them, particularly Charlie H and John V.

Saturday June 16, 2012 a friend and I went Honda of Annapolis located at 1736 West Street to look at purchasing a new vehicle. After arriving, taking a vehicle for a test drive, and the sales person taking 25 minutes to appraise her current vehicle we sat with the sales person to talk about options. We attempted to find out what the dealership would offer for her current vehicle for a trade but were told she would have to fill out a credit application before they could finish her appraisal. After telling the sales person she was not ready to fill out the application but would be back after thinking about options we attempted to leave. As we were walking out the door the manager stopped us and tried to “close the deal”. We advised the sales manager we were going to leave and come back but would have liked to know the vehicles appraisal. The manager told us he would need to keep her vehicle for an hour in order to figure out how much it was worth. (Another dealer in Annapolis was able to give her an appraisal price in 15 minutes) I told the sales manager thank you for your time and that we would be back if she decided to go through with the deal. As we were walking out the door another sales manager said “thanks for wasting our damn time”. I turned around and said to the sales manager “what did you just say” he responded “you heard me so keep walking out the door”. I reminded the sales manager that he was in the business of pleasing customers and he told me “we don’t need your business” and then told us he was going to call the police if we did not leave. Please feel free to pass this along to anyone you know. If this is the way they treat potential customers I am sure this is how the treat everyone. There are plenty of dealerships out there that go the extra distance to make and keep customers happy. If you have any questions for me please ask.

Worst experience I ever had at a car dealer. Not one iota of professionalism and it seems there purpose is to mislead the customer hoping he or she is foolish enough to fall for their devious scheme. Would not be a new or used car from this dealer and best no one else did either.
