Check everything before leaving the lot

onI thought I got a great deal on a new 2023 K5 GT-Line but drove away with a lemon. I thought at first the clock just needed to be set and I would do it when I got home. Tried for a while to figure it out and then called. So the clock, navigation or remote start functions don’t work. Sales guy said bring it in, service looked at it and said it needed new software. Left it for a day for new software and when I picked it up they said it was actually a faulty cell antenna. No estimated delivery in the part. Waited a month with me periodically checking in and finally the antenna arrives. Leave it for a day and now they say the entire radio display console needs to be replaced with now estimated delivery date. THIS STUFF WAS ALL NO FUNCTIONAL WHEN I DROVE IT OFF THE LOT!!!! Shame on me for not checking everything before leaving the lot. How did it pass the “Inspection”???? If I was the dealership GM I would be embarrassed by this happening on my lot. But maybe this is just acceptable for Kia.

High pressure finance guys!

onWe had a great experience with our sales person, Diego. The sales manager was great too! Our problem was the finance guys! I have never felt so much pressure to upgrade my car warranty in my life! We told them 5 times a we didnât want any extra insurance yet they continued to pressure us! Totally ruined our experience. I was going to recommend Midwest Kia to my kids but now I wonât be.

onMy daughter turned 18 was in the market for her first car, went to several dealerships that jacked her around, Midwest Kia got her into the car she wanted, first time car buyers program. She had zero credit but stable job history!! She didn't have to pay a ginormous down payment, they worked with her and we highly recommend Midwest Kia! Go visit WES Stephenson

Great place if you're looking for a new vehicle!

onSales and finance didn't try to force unneeded options for my purchase. I told them what I was looking for and they didn't try to change my mind or tack on additional charges like other dealerships. Definitely looking to purchase from them again and refer my friends/family!

onI had an amazing sales representative Karla; she was very knowledgeable, she knew all the details about the vehicle, very outgoing. From the time we walked in the door we had an outstanding service. Best service in Wichita!

Buyer Beware!
by 09/03/2015
onThe first thing I noticed was that the price for the used car I wanted to purchase was well above book value. After looking at it, I can assure you there was no reason for it to be, but I thought we could possibly come to a deal. The salesman only wanted to talk about monthly payments, while I wanted to talk about the actual price of the vehicle. I made my offer and he took it back to his manager. He came back with monthly payments, making it sound as though my offer had been accepted. I later found out that he did not negotiate the price at all, but only disguised the full price as monthly payments in hopes that I wouldn't notice. To make matters worse, he attempted to use high pressure sales techniques, hoping I would sign without understanding what the deal was. The lone bright side to my experience with them, was dealing with the internet portion of it, though they do not directly work for Midwest Kia. After I returned home, I received a call from them asking about my experience. They apologized after hearing what I went through and assured me that was not how they do business. I was told that they would relay my concerns to management. I was never contacted by management for Midwest Kia, thus I will assume this is normal business practice for them.

3rd Times A Charm - Or Is It?
by 07/07/2015
onOn January 14, 2015, I came in knowing that I wanted to purchase a Kia Sorento, I did not need any convincing or sales talk. Upon stepping out of my car, I was immediately engulfed by Otis Johnson Jr. (whom no longer works for the company). We test drove a leather Sorento without the third row as it was explained that there were no third rows available on the lot. After the test drive, we went inside to discuss the purchase. He told me what he could offer but couldnt show a picture of what would be coming in. I received a $500 rebate and was also told it would have less than 20 miles upon arrival. With the paperwork and VIN number in hand, I immediately went home and found the car online, at a Missouri dealership (why wasnt Otis able to do that when I asked?). They were offering a $2500 rebate or 0% financing on this specific vehicle. Looking at the pictures, it was easy to see this was not what Otis explained, it was not the same color and the seats were completely different. The next day, I called Otis to tell him the deal that I saw and to inform him this vehicle wasnt what was described to me. I was told to just come look at the vehicle when it came in, everything would be fine. As for the better deal that I saw, he said they would check into it and call me back. When he called back, he said that the deal was expired and the dealership was taking it down from the site immediately. When I arrived to look at the vehicle, I was told that Otis called in sick for the day and Jazmine Hinojosa; the customer care delivery specialist showed me the vehicle. After looking at the vehicle, I explained to her this wasnt what Otis had told me it would be and what had happened. Brad Gillespie came out of his office concerned and assured me they would make it right. He went and spoke to the sales team and agreed with me that I would take the car in exchange for a two year service plan. He stated that he would get it all taken care of, send it over to the service members and ensure it was in the system ready to go. When I called to make my first oil change appointment, they knew exactly where I was calling from and ensured they had a shuttle to take me right there explaining they had multiple customers where I work and it would be no problem getting me there on time. My appointment was scheduled for 7:30 am, I arrived, dropped off my car and was escorted back to work by a colored man covered in tattoos it wasnt his presence that was disturbing but the questions that followed, things like how old are you, do you have kids, are you married, have you seen 50 shades of grey, what were your thoughts. By the time I arrived at work it was 8:45 I felt so harassed and used up, I definitely didnt want to use their shuttle service again. I did not call and file a complaint in fear of taking my car there in the future, I simply would just wait for it to get done next time or go on the weekend. My second oil change was just as unpleasant. I dropped it off in the morning at 9:00am, later I get a phone call stating everything was going well; they just recommend getting my tires rotated and balanced, that would cost $49.99. I said okay and quickly realized why it would cost $50 just to have my tires rotated. They indicated that it was for the oil change and rotation. I explained that I had a two year maintenance plan. The man on the phone (Brandon) was very calm and customer service oriented, he pulled up my file and explained nothing on it showed a two year service plan. I informed him of my initial visit and reasoning for the plan; he said that he would go ahead and process everything but would have to contact the finance department on clarification. When I arrived and walked inside, I saw Brad behind the service area outside smoking a cigarette very unhappy looking. Brandon also saw him and said just the man I was looking for, I will be right back. When Brandon walked outside I could not see Brad but could see Brandon conversing and shaking his head. I was thinking this is not good news. When Brandon walked back in, he did not have good news Brad followed him in shortly while I was in the middle of telling Brandon the issue Brad was not apologetic at all, filled with irritation. He simply stated that the ball was dropped; he would have to gather the file and present it to the general manager. I asked if I needed to call back Monday to ensure it was taken care of, that if you made an agreement with someone you should follow through and ensure it gets done. I sensed that Brad was not happy with what I had to say and simply could care less. He was walking away from me and just insisted that the ball was dropped and walked back into the main building. Brandon was apologetic and said that he was sorry for my experience. I explained it wasnt his fault personally but I felt sorry he had to work with people like that. My oil change was on 6/27 and I have yet to hear any news from anyone at Midwest Kia. I have now had three terrible experiences with Midwest Kia and can assume that every one of them going forward will be the same. I can also only imagine what this business is like at the top if it is like this at the bottom, what a disaster. Businesses like this do not succeed with such bad customer service. How many other customers have been harassed? How many others have had multiple experiences like mine? I know I will never buy a new car and certainly not one from Midwest Kia.

onAfter having several issues with my vehicle purchase, Midwest Kia went to great lengths to fix the problems. They were very understanding of my frustration with the problematic car and tried to make the best of an unfortunate situation. They did offer a buy back on the car and went above and beyond to correct a sour situation. I was impressed by the amount of concern they had for me and my concerns about the car I had purchased.

Very poor Customer Service
by 11/10/2014
onIt has been exactly 1 week since I went out to the Midwest Kia dealership. My "salesman" was Brad. I sat in the dealership for 2 hours for something I was told would take 5 min. No one EVER got back with me. I asked prior to my credit being run if they were hard or soft inquiries, I was told by Brad that they are all soft. Last Tuesday I got an alert saying there were 5 hard inquiries on my credit report which lowered my credit report 10 pts. I got a "follow up" call Friday and was told a manager would be in contact with me...still nothing. Horrible business practice and extremely poor customer service.

They do not budge
by 11/10/2014
onDavis Moore Nissan beats them in service hands down, as does Car Max. Be prepared to spend an entire day to purchase a vehicle. They do not discuss features of the cars, they are not willing to negotiate and they don't act like they want to earn your business. It will probably be worth your trip to go to an out of town dealer. They did not want to show us the previous year's vehicles even though they advertise they are wanting to sell them for new inventory coming in. Shop online, get quotes from different dealers..you will be glad you did. The only thing I did like about this dealer is being able to test drive the vehicle without them tagging along.

Took a while but I love what I bought

onThe showroom is amazing. Like walking onto a spaceship. Big Al was my salesman and he had to be the most patient salesman I have ever dealt with. I told him what I wanted and he said that I would probably be happier with an Optima. I test drove a used BMW and thought it was what I wanted. Al talked me into trying out a 2014 Optima. It was better than I expected, a lot better. 2 months later and I am still in love with it. I love my Kia Optima.

Bad sales experience

onSalesmen gave me her word they could help us due to credit issues over the phone. Even promised my family gas money if we came out today. They turned us down because my spouse does not have a valid DL and they did not compensate us for driving out there.
