The place your dad warned you about
by JohnO on 06/21/2025I wish there were words to describe my experience. I have seen other reviews that match my experience and for the life of me I don't know how anyone could rate this dealership more than two stars. Imagine a team of 10 sales people… competing for perhaps 2 to 3 customers per 2 hours all with the attitude of "what can I do to get you to take this car home today?". In short, go somewhere else. The salesperson that we had was OK, but talked too fast like he was stimulated by some substance. The total sales experience was horrible. On two separate occasions, I stopped in to look at an advertised car and they had no idea where it was. They have a back lot especially for use vehicles, but the salesman has to borrow a car and drive there. So, you can expect a 20 to 30 minute wait for them to pull up the car if they can find the car and also find the keys. Some staff member has decided to play loud rock music from the 70's in the showroom. We asked to have it turned down and they did, but 10 minutes later it was back up. I have been in a lot of dealerships looking at cars and never had this bigbox store "play music to push the customers along" experience. Going through the paperwork, there were errors in some of the calculations which I would have been out the money if I hadn't gone through them carefully. When waiting for the finance person (we were paying without financing) they actually sent us home after waiting for him for over 30 minutes, and this was after a deposit had been made. By the way, they charged a $15 fee to put a credit card deposit down on a car - really? I could perhaps understand if you were paying for a service or part, but a deposit? In a dealership down the street, I had bought a new car with a personal check for over $30K just a month before and didn't ask, but when we finally did get a finance person (the next day), we found out they would only accept a cashier's check for a used car half the price I paid for a new car. This they failed to tell us when we were preparing our finances to buy the car. The car we bought was a good fit for us, so I went through with the sale, but I will not go back even for service to this dealership because of my experience. What kind of business model is that? How do they build customer loyalty?Worst Car Experience
by mmm on 03/20/2024Worst car buying experience ever! I confirmed my appointment three times all the way up to pulling into the parking lot. I was told to expect the red carpet customer experience. When I walked through the doors, four sales guys were huddled… around the front desk looking at their phones. Not one looked up until I said hello, I'm here for my appointment. No one knew who I was or why I was there. Not close to a red carpet welcome, let alone a "welcome to Kia, how may we help you greeting". After two hours of battling with two sales guys and two managers on my trade-in value I started walking toward the door. They called me back and I had to force them to honor their advertised price of the new car, we finally had an agreement after close to three hours. What dealer would literally have two managers and two sales guys sit across from a customer at the same time? Maybe a little adversarial? Ya think? Again I waited. I agreed to bring back a cashier's check and have my wife sign paperwork the next day. When we arrived, again, no one knew why we were there or had our paperwork ready. Ultimately, they handed us the keys, pointed to where the cart was parked and a manager handed me a questionaire to complete that had their prefered answers highlighted! Seriously! Not once in my experience did anyone offer me water, coffee, an introduction to their service dept, customer lounge, service mgr, wifi connection, or any customer oriented experience. Sorry, but this is all true and the worst customer experince you could imagine. The only reason I purchased at tha dealer was they had the exact vehicle I was looking for and it was close by. Not what I would have ever expected for spending $54K.Hi, thanks for reaching out to us. Good news! I received a call from the General Mgr. after posting this review. We discussed what happened during my visit to Napleton Kia and I was assured that training and improvements are being implemented to improve the customer experience at their dealership. Let's hope. The Telluride I purchased is amazing.
Great help getting an awesome car!

Brandon was amazing also. Every question, every curve ball we threw his… direction, he was able to maneuver through and get us the deal we were looking for, in the car we were looking for, in the price we were looking for. Waste of time
by Ryan on 07/16/2022Overpriced. Arrogant. Opportunistic. Dishonest. Unprofessional. Desperate. If you’re looking for old school car salesmanship nonsense and have time to burn - look no further. They will string you along, keep you in the dark, rip you off and… act like you’re getting a deal. They’ll say anything to move you towards a purchase. I’ve never felt more like a sales metric than a customer. Oh, and expect to pay insane “market adjustment” pricing over the listed MSRP. They’ll insist their overly inflated pricing is normal, it is NOT. I know this because I ended up taking my business to a different Kia dealership and was offered a totally fair and reasonable price without the any of the run around. Honestly, it wasn’t until I had such an amazing experience at another dealership that I realized how horrible Kia Carmel was. Don’t let them convince you that this is the “new normal” with car buying in 2022. Horrible experience.
by Kirk on 07/14/2021Horrible experience today. I drove 150 miles to test drive a specific car which we agreed to through correspondence. Was not even available to test drive because of hail damage repair in process which you did not divulge until I arrived… (yes I know it will be repaired). Very deceptive and complete waste of time. Finally online they do not divulge the add on packages you try to push as well. Frankly they totally disappointed and I will be sharing with online reviews and to Kia corporate as well.Hi, we are so disappointed to learn of this situation you have described. by A on 03/22/2021The salesman ( Kostas M.)was the only positive experience. I loved him and the vehicle. But financial office blew the entire deal. After waiting ovef two hours to start the financial section of the process and still waiting I needed to… leave. I found the salesman and asked if I could leave a deposit and come back the next business day. As we were talking the finance manager came by and started yelling and getting extremely rude and insulting. And said I wouldn't even know how much of a down payment to bring because they had finalized all the paperwork and I was still next in line. Absolutely ludicrous they selected my lender, rate, lack of any extra warranty, all before I even talked to anyone in finance. They actually expected me to sign on their paperwork and close a deal I was not even involved in. I really wish the salesman would go elsewhere and I would certainly buy a vehicle from him.Thanks for taking the time to express your concerns. I actually called this number and talked to a manager Austin, before I left the review. I was told there was nothing wrong with what they did. That they had never had a complaint about the finance manager. And received one of the most unbelievable apologies I have ever heard. I was hoping the manager would attempt to right the situation before I gave up on the vehicle. But in his words they did nothing wrong and they were not interested in working on closing the deal. After all this I am sure glad I did not purchase the vehicle. I would not want to deal with this dealership ever again for any reason.

Do not trust this dealership!!!

We found a car online that had a really good price, but when I spoke to other KIA dealerships, they cautioned me to question Napleton's price because it is a "bait and switch". I called and spoke to Kalob- I… directly asked him if the "dealer price" included any discounts that you had to qualify for. He assured me the "dealer price" was the actual price and the only difference whould be (tax, title, and processing". I let him know I was driving 2 hours to get there and I did not want to have any tricks when I got there. He told me, "That is the actual price of the car". Well they LIED!! My son and I drove 2 hours just to find out that price of the car was actually several thousand dollars higher!! I DO NOT LIKE being LIED to. Total BAIT AND SWITCH!! DO NOT TRUST THEM! We are going to the Office of the Attorney General to file a complaint! This false advertising MUST STOP!!!Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. Shady dealership, steer clear
by Todd Z on 12/28/2020This dealer engages in shady sells tactics, and tries to add a ridiculous $2000 or more add on package to their used vehicles. The package is not optional. This dealer will do everything they can to get you into the dealership, and… anything they can to avoid giving you an actual out the door price. I inquired through Truecar about getting an out the door price on a vehicle that I was interested in. I am an out of state buyer, so this should be an easy, transparent request. Not at all the case. At one point a lady from the dealership called me and asked me if I could come in today or make an appointment for today. When I told her I was out of state, she explained that she would send my information over to an out of state manager, who would get back to me in about a week, what a joke. She further explained that the dealership is very busy, and that is why the week time frame. Just a minute earlier this double talking [non-permissible content removed] was desperately trying to get me into the dealership immediately. I asked her if I walked into the dealership would they turn me away, since they are so busy with appointments. This obviously stumped the poor woman, because I was met with silence. After asking for a general manager or customer relations manager to call me back, a sales guy called me later. He was pleasant, but when I asked him about the $2000 add on, he tried explaining what a value it was. He even told me about the maintenance package. I reminded him that it is probably impractical for me to drive over a 1000 miles for an oil change, lol. I told him I was unwilling to pay for any ridiculous "hidden" package. I asked him to find out the lowest out the door price and get back to me. He told me that he would check with a manager and call me back. I never heard back. Long story short, this is an unethical, shady dealership that engages in horrific business practices, and has terrible customer service. Read some of the other reviews, there is a pattern here.
