Worst dealership ever!
by Scott on 05/29/2021I saw a used car on Edmund's and texted the dealership to arrange a test drive. They asked when would I like to come to see the car. I said I would be there in an hour and they confirmed Alex said to ask for a manager when I arrive. I drove… an hour to get there only to be told upon arrival that the car was not there. They said it had been sent out for service. The sales people were unhelpful and the manager was useless. Very poor experience and very unprofessional handling of the situation. I would never go back to this dealership but they had the gall to text me the next day to ask when I would like to come see the car with no mention of the previous day. It is apparent that they have extremely poor communication skills between themselves and with customers.Great Experience. Nice clean waiting room
by Happy Customer on 02/07/2020I recently bought a car from Arlington Toyota and am extremely happy. I would recommend to all of my family and friends. The staff was very bubbly and informative. I didn't have to wait long and the lobby was bright, private, and refreshing.Buyer Beware
by JS on 06/11/2019I am so disappointed in my experience in purchasing a used car at Arlington Toyota. My husband and I went in to purchase a Mazda CX-5 and in the process of purchasing one, it was sold from under us with a cash offer. We were not upset and… told them we could wait until another arrived. They said they just happened to have another one in the back that was yet to be inventoried. They showed us the car and said it was not cleaned up or looked over yet but that it would all be taken care of. They pushed hard for the sell and promised everything would be fixed to our satisfaction. When we picked up the car a few days later, I mentioned several dents, a bad paint job, a dented trunk, and a misaligned back bumper. We felt as we were bait and switched. The finance manager, Matthew promised us 100% satisfaction and that they would make it right. Unfortunately, they have not delivered. I have been to the dealership now and taken time out of my schedule to have the car repaired, and it has continually not been fixed with the trunk still dented and the back bumper still not aligned. We even bought the protection package for the exterior and interior but why buy the protection plan for a car that will not be repaired. If you say you are going to fix things, you should deliver. This dealership will say anything to try to sell you a car and then forget about all their promises.Friendly and fast

by Topgun63 on 11/11/2017Thank you so much for making me feel very special from the start to the end. The sales associate - Akash was very professional, knowledgeable, pleasant, and polite. His follow through with every detail was great, and his communication… skills were superb at every level. Thanks a lot Akash for being so friendly and helpful.Hello, Thank you for sharing your comments. Our team always wants to make sure that our customers find the car they need at a fair price. ***Worst Customer Service***
by sandeep6 on 11/05/2017***Worst Customer Service*** I bought a used car from this Dealership, They hided that it's not inspected(Safety) and sold that to me and asked me to come next week to change the oil. when i went again the service department guys are nice… enough to tell me that I shouldn't even drive the car with out at least safety inspected. I Went to the sale's department and asked them about how can they sell a vehicle which isn't inspected, One of the manager bullied me saying that we can cancel the deal and pay the money back(Very Aggressively) (it's not about cancelling the deal it's about safety of the customer). I felt very bad as how do people treat their customer's. I never in my life wrote a review about any incident this is one of the worst place for customer service. They treat you like they are giving free stuff. BEWARE(Please do ask them to write it on a paper, if they promise you something). I'm never going to shop in this dealership or recommend this place.Hello, Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I am concerned there was some miscommunication that has led to your distrust of our dealership. I would appreciate the opportunity to speak with you to get a complete understanding of what happened. Would you please e-mail me with your preferred contact so I can get in touch? If you prefer, feel free to give me a direct call at your convenience to discuss this further. I hope to hear from you soon and make things right. Best, John Pitchford Customer Relations Management Team jpitchford@toyotaarlington.com (847)485-1200 ext. 9802
Made me pay labor charges to fix their mistake.
by dbamirali on 11/03/2017I have been a customer of Arlington Toyota for 8+ years and have bought 2 cars from them and get service from then about once every 2 months as I travel interstate a lot. I have given them the best possible reviews in the past so when they… disapponted me I gave them a chance to fix it but they blew it away... I went to Arlington Toyota on Aug 26, 2017 for an oil change, Ruben suggested a tire rotation and I agreed to it, on Oct 16th I was driving on the highway on my way to Ohio and felt some vibration on the steering, I got out to check but didn't find the cause,(it was late at night and it was dark) next morning on close inspection I saw 2 of the wheel nuts were missing and the remaining 3 were loose, (scary - I was on the highway averaging 70mph the night before) I went to the closest Autozone and got 2 replacement nuts and replaced the missing nuts and when I tightened all the nuts one of them broke without much force (understandably, all the load was on the 3 nuts when the 2 nuts fell off) upon returning to Illinois, I returned to Arlington Toyota and explained the whole story, I was expecting them to charge me for the part but never expected them to charge me for service to fix the issue caused by the negligence of their own mechanic. I even met one of their managers - Stephen Thomas, to give them a fair chance at rectifying their mistake and owning up the issue but he refused saying "if the issue was brought to their notice sooner they would have taken care of it", I don't know what he meant by sooner, are we supposed to check all the nuts after getting service? The reason I trust dealers over local mechanics is the assurance that they will do a thurough job and in cases like these fill in any shortfalls of their employees without making the customers suffer. I paid for their neglegence - even though the amount was not much they lost my trust. Cost of 2 nuts @ Autozone $14 Cost of 1 hub bolt @ Arlington Toyota $6 Labor $48.38Do NOT go here!
by Joserameres on 02/24/2017I had the worst experience I've ever had at a car dealer here. They're all smiles and friendly to your face, but will screw you over in an instant. Do not go to these people. They lure you in with a good online price, then say that it… didn't include things like Toyota certification, low interest financing, or even floor mats or an owners manual. Then they tack on crook fees like window etching fee. Then, when you are done arguing with them about the price, the financing department tries to screw you over with their numbers. They flat out lied to my face about the Toyota certified vehicle thing and the low interest rate that it came with. I had to pull their online add for them to finally admit to it. They can sure make an exciting experience horrible! The customer relations manager Sandra was never even available to discuss these issues either. DO NOT GO HERE!We've been trying to get in touch so we can discuss this with you. I reached out several times starting in September, as well as sending you my email address. I'll be trying to contact you again today; I hope to speak with you soon. -Sandra Pierce, Customer Relations Manager, spierce@toyotaarlington.com
fantastic service experience
by Sinkiewicz on 11/21/2016Great experience at the Service department. Mr. Craig Callen goes above and beyond to take care of the customer. Both of my vehicles serviced here and previous Buffalo Grove location were purchased elsewhere and even with that I still… received a royal treatment every time I needed help. Great job , keep it up!Thanks for sharing your review! It's wonderful to hear that Craig provided you with the great service we're known for. We'll let him know to keep up the excellent work. We look forward to seeing you again, thank you for your business! -Sandra Pierce, Customer Relations Manager, spierce@toyotaarlington.com
What a great experience!
by civago99 on 10/12/2016What a pleasant experience! my salesperson, Eric, and his manager, Ali, were extremely helpful, reasonable, non-forceful, accommodating in variety of ways, and courteous. This is was my first new-car purchase experience, and they sure made… it good one for me.review for Reza
by mrashidzadeh on 09/04/2016Looking for my first car has never been more of a challenge, going through various dealers and spending multiple hours trying to choose the right car. Until i came to Arlington Toyota, where i met Reza. Never have i met someone as… personable and helpful in any dealership as Reza was to me. Being extremely friendly and professional, Reza made sure that i would leave the dealership satisfied and he kept to his word. I highly recommend any future car buyers nearby to visit arlington toyota, and seek for Reza's assistanceDO NOT SERVICE YOUR VEHICLE HERE!!!
by dumparlington on 03/30/2016NEVER NEVER BUY OR SERVICE YOUR VEHICLE HERE!! Bought my car here about 6 weeks ago and should have left when the manager said to me that the advertised price was too low and he could not give me the car for the advertised price. After some… negoticating we settled on a price. It was 6 days later when I was expierincing a problem with the drivers seat. It had a noticeable lump running up the center which was acknowledged by three workers there (including the service manager). To make this story concise, they refused to fix the problem and even refused to return calls to me. After two trips to the dealer and no return phone call from the G.M ( Mike S.) I contacted toyota corp. They told me to go to another dealer of which I did and the seat replacement work was preformed. I now have a seat without any lumps in it!They pay for reviews because they are horrible!!
by LaurenB8500 on 01/22/2016Come here if you love being taken advantage of & degraded. They will make you feel so disgusting after you leave, it should be a crime. This place made me never want to buy a Toyota again and I wont. I let the Toyota Corporate office… know about this too. I was dealing with some guy, Gil who was the used car manager. I told him my price range & that I wanted a Corolla that was no older than 2009. Fine, he showed me around a few different options and I thought I found a 2010 that was in my budget until I asked about Toyota Certification. He wanted to charge me $1500 for Certification, and then had the nerve to try to sell me some pro-pack for $700 excuse me? We went over my budget and these things were just a huge rip-off!! I called my friend who used to work at the Toyota in Libertyville, he told me to leave right away, that they are liars and trying to scam you. Before I could leave, I was escorted to the General Manager, [non-permissible content removed] named Mike. [non-permissible content removed], I walked in and he was screaming at some sales guy and throwing papers around like a child. How embarrassing. When Gil brought me over to discuss this certification BS, Mike told me that my friend is an IDIOT and obviously doesnt know anything about certifications & this pro-pack thing. Okay, now you just insulted someone who actually knows me and would look out for me so I dont get ripped off. I was done. I told them Im leaving and writing a horrible review & also contacting the corporate office & BBB. They almost begged me not to and told me theyd give me a $100 if I left a good review. LOL okay, now think about how many good reviews they have on here they are bribing people to make them seem like a good place, but they are the complete opposite. [non-permissible content removed], this place needs new people because the ones they have will destroy their crappy company with their awful people skills.Great experience!
by xaviermuskie1 on 11/06/2015This is the best new car buying experience I've ever had in my 67 years! The dealership is super clean and I only encountered the friendliest people there. I bought a 2016 4Runner Limited for a very good price. They gave me a tour of the… entire dealership and it reassured me that this will be where I bring my car for any service work in the future. I highly recommend Arlington Toyota!GREAT
by bill2016 on 08/14/2015The moment we walked in we new this was a nice place we were greeted right away with a big smile by a man (Frank) he was very friendly he then called over a salesman Ali we told them we were shopping so Ali showed cars for about an hour… then we left after diving a Camry we came back two more times we were looking at another car some where else threw all of this both men were so helpful and professional we bought a certified Camry. Then after we bought the Camry we had some other questions and came back to more times we came back when Ali was off so Frank went out of his way to make us feel important and took care of everything for us truly the meaning of what customer service was meant to be.Great service and honest people
by StephanyH on 07/31/2015I was shopping for Camry and received quite a few similar priced offers from dealers in my are. Arlington Toyota took some time to get back to me, but their information was the best. They let me know that the Grey one I'm looking for was… sold right in the first e-mail and offered to choose different option. Dealer down the road dragged me in and the tried to switch me. Just for being up-front honest and the way Mike was dealing with me, I came in tonight and bought the car. They even stayed open past 10PM to let me finish the paperwork. Thank you!Stay Away
by Mitchell2015 on 03/24/2015This place is full with [non-permissible content removed] and the customer support is complete garbage. I referred my girl friend and she bought a 2015 corolla the same day. They hassled us for the additional warranties and services and… we wanted to think about it. We were told we could cancel within 24 hours and we agreed. They have a referral program going on, which you fill out a sheet and they would send you $50 via mail. I was told by this person who was on our backs about going with the additional services, that the money will be received within 1-2 weeks. The next day we came back and canceled the additional services due to being pretty pricey "additional 3k" and he was giving us attitude, raised voice, and being [non-permissible content removed]... 3 weeks later I contacted their support via email from their support system located on their website and explained the situation. I did not receive a single reply so I sent another email a week later "been 4 weeks so far" and threatened to leave a bad "legit" review if I did not receive anything.. within a hour I received a reply and then a phone call in which I spoke to someone. I was then told that the sales person had mixed things up and the payment would be received within 4-6 weeks and that person would give me a call back once he confirmed and tracked it down. I never received a call back from that person and it has been past 6 weeks and nothing. I sent multiple replies to the person who was "supposedly assigned" to help me and not a single reply. How badly this person typed, you would think It was a bot. This place is full of [non-permissible content removed] and people who don't know what's going on or how to correctly do their job. Stay away from this place.DIshonest and Scamming
by saraw1273 on 12/28/2014We've been researching vehicles for a few weeks, and narrowed down my choices to either a Honda or a Toyota. So we took a ride over to Arlington Toyota to test drive a 2015 model that was listed online. The MSRP on this model was around $4K… more than the online price, so I had a feeling something seemed too good to be true. I looked through all the fine print to find the "catch", and the only fine print on the website was regarding the finance offer. There was also a "0%" interest rate advertised online, but I know there's not such thing as a 0% interest rate. The fine print online spelled out the "actual" finance charges, which made perfect sense. There are always some additional fees that become apparent during the negotiation phase, but what transpired today (12/27/2014) was absolutely jaw-dropping. So we test drove a vehicle that we both liked. I said that we really liked the car, and that we would like to discuss financing options. I said that since the online price seemed fair, I would be fine with offering that price contingent on a fair financing package. Until this point the salesman (Fernando) was a pleasure to work with. When I mentioned my offer, I am not making this up, he started to laugh at me. He then told me that the internet price was sort of like fishing... "We put that price online so that we can hook people, just like in fishing". So basically he was confirming that Arlington Toyota was using a bait-and-switch tactic to first get you in the door, and then try to get you to buy a car for way more $$ than you were budgeting, OR, sell you a completely different car that you're not interested in. So rather than negotiating a deal at the dealership for a slightly lower cost (like most new car negotiations transpire), Arlington Toyota said that the "actual price" was nearly $3K more that the advertised online price. For anyone looking to visit this place after finding a vehicle price online, if it looks too good to be true, it probably IS. I could not believe that this salesman actually told me that the prices online are posted only to "hook" people. Shame on you guys. I had thought that car dealers had moved beyond some of these tactics. Come on Toyota, get your act together and get rid of these deceptive tactics.Poor customer experience...
by sb03 on 12/27/2014Went in for a viewing this afternoon and had a decent experience with the salesperson (Mario) for the most part, until we came down to the numbers. Now, Mario was just about a week old at this place, so wouldn't blame him for wanting to… consult with the senior folks. Enter Mr. Eduardo Reyes - first off, gave us the wrong quotes to being with. When we asked him to reason out the price difference between the two cars we were deciding between, he went all aggressive on us trying to force a sale at the moment. I understand the need for a hard-sell - that's expected from a salesman. It's what they're paid for. But that doesn't give them a right to behave as if they are doing the customer a favor or some sort of a charity. To top this off, Mr. Reyes had the audacity to tell us not to "yell" at him, while he was the one who did the shout-outs. I felt bad for Mario, since we went there to drive out with a car. Mr. Reyes' poor customer service surely cost Mario a pretty decent sized commission. It's a shame, because this dealership has good facilities and a good inventory selection. Unfortunately, without customer experience these are worthless. Sorry, will not recommend this dealership. They lied about the safety inspections
by jfesterling on 11/14/2014I bought a used 2006 Sequoia from Arlington Toyota Scion. All vehicles were supposed to go through a safety inspection before being sold and the rear tailgate latch was broken(wouldn't open) and after I had purchased the vehicle I pulled… into the first gas station to put a DVD into the player and it didn't work. The vehicle was advertised that it had a DVD player and when I called them about it they said they couldn't do anything about it and suggested I look for a DVD player on ebay. I asked to talk to a manager and have not received a call. The check engine light also came on 3 days later and 4 separate unrelated codes came up. I find it highly unlikely that all of those codes just decided to appear at the same time. I have suspicion that the codes were cleared from the dealer and they tried to hide it but I can't prove it. I'm just really frustrated with my experience when they wouldn't do anything about the issues and that they would miss a tailgate latch being broken. I assumed they vehicle was checked when they took it in for the trade. How do you miss a broken tailgate latch? They did give me about half the price of the cost for them to replace it back to me but after I investigated the problem deeper I actually have to do much more extensive repairs to the tailgate. Its really frustrating to think they can sell a $14,000 vehicle with one of the doors not functioning and think its acceptable. I will never recommend or buy another vehicle from Arlington Toyota Scion Automotive Group. On another note, when I went to register the vehicle the clerk at the DMV said the form they used for the sale is a little shady indicating they reuse forms to save money so they don't have to register the vehicle under the dealers name when they take it in for a trade. All I am saying is that i had a horrible experience and I hope you don't have the same misfortune. A guaranteed way to achieve that is to not do business with them. Good job Arlington in saving $500 on my sale and instead receiving this one star.
