  • Deceiving practices

    1 out of 5 starsby K Stupar on 09/29/2019

I came to this dealership to purchase my leased vehicle I had been driving for the past three years. For three hours I was shuffled to different rooms and even had to drive across the street before finalizing any paperwork. That was insane. Charges of $440 I wasn’t supposed to pay according to Kia, charged $399 for something I did not discuss nor authorize. Went to another Kia dealer to discuss this paper work and charges only to find my vehicle did not have this work performed. Talked me into items I did not want. Financing thru a California bank I never heard of. Paperwork I received from this bank not showing the correct interest rate and the only way to cancel is thru the dealership. Good luck with that. Two phone messages to General Manager not returned and one phone message to finance unreturned. Bottom line I now have a contract with a bank out of California for $8100 + more than car is worth; sales tax paid on $41,205 for a vehicle list price of $39,000 three years ago and no resolution. Since wasting my time with phone messages I took to the internet and found a form from Illinois Attorney Generals office I can fill out and file a formal grievance. Hopefully I can get some results thru them and Kia themselves by putting them on copy. I may or may not be able to get out of this mess but I won’t sit back and let this dealership take advantage of a female senior citizen who spent three hours thinking she was doing the right thing by buying her leased vehicle.

  • Excellent Sales Team !

    5 out of 5 starsby Iggy2019 on 11/09/2018

Shawn and his team took fabulous care of me when I went to look at Kia's. They answered all my questions, and even brought cars inside, so that comparisons could be made on different models. There was no pressure to ":Buy Now", ever. And the prices were highly competitive. I would definitely recommend them.

  • Extremely poor customer service

1 out of 5 starsby Robbins on 10/09/2018

You tried an "internet price" then switched after I drove 6 hours to buy van. I paid for new license, still don't have them. The paper in the window expired 9/27 and you will not communicate with me. I hear "call you back in 20 mins" from the salesman. I hear I'll look into this from sales manager. I've even left a message with financial manager and been days with no response.
    • Thank you for considering us, however, we're very concerned about your recent experience. Please contact our General Manager, Steve Gjokaj at (847) 680-0911 to discuss this further.

  • Come see Steve Nedanovski

5 out of 5 starsby Amandagee on 02/27/2018

Just bought a 2018 Optima and had the best experience! Got a great deal and Steve was great, not pushy at all. They will work out a great deal for you. I strongly suggest you shop here for your next new vehicle.

  • Common theme - don't tell you it's sold, esp for long drive

    1 out of 5 starsby dada_se on 06/30/2017

I gave them the benefit of the doubt after reading so many bad reviews. I was wrong. We had an appointment to look at a specific used car. We made contact with them before we started our 1 hour drive to make sure it was still there. We got there and within 5 minutes they said they sold it earlier. No call while we were driving to let us know. It seems a common thing for them to do this with used cars. A simple call or text would have gone a long way. They still think they did nothing wrong and the manager showed no compassion.

  • Deceptive Advertised Price

    1 out of 5 starsby G_Matt111 on 05/19/2017

Very deceptive pricing on their website and extremely difficult to get an actual price from them. The actual price they finally gave me was $3500 more than the price on their website.

  • Loved them!!

5 out of 5 starsby MarissaRenee on 04/09/2016

As soon as we walked in, Brandon was there to greet us right away. We told him what car we were looking into and he got us test driving it in 10 minutes. As we were driving, he showed us how to use certain features in the car and was very informative. When we got back, we got rolling on the paper work and they walked us through the entire thing. As first time buyers, we were very thankful to have someone so willing to help us!
  • Definitely a great sales experience with Andrew Rios

5 out of 5 starsby Gobjherrera on 08/30/2015

My boyfriend has gotten 2 cars from Andrew and I just purchased my first new car with his help. Andrew went above and beyond to make sure I was happy with my decision and purchase. He was able to find me a car within my budget and it was brand new! He definitely made buying my first car a wonderful experience!

I was contacted by Michael McConnell a Sales Consultant with Liberty Auto Plaza located at 920 S Milwaukee Ave, Libertyville, IL on Friday September 7th. 2012 because my wife and I were looking to trade our 2007 Nissan Altima for a cross over vehicle. We had already completed the credit application online and it was just a matter of us bringing in our car to get appraised. When I made it to the dealership on Saturday afternoon, I was being assisted by James a salesman. James was having difficulty locating us in the system and tried to for over 10 minutes. In my mind if your having trouble accessing your customer's information, please ask for assistance but he failed to do so. So immediately I became frustrated and chose to leave the dealership. I did at least call Michael just to explain what happened and why I was leaving. Roughly 10 minutes later, I get a call from a Dwight who stated he was the Sales Manager. I explained to him what happen as well. He then tells me and I quote "THE SALES PERSON WAS DOING HIS JOB! SHOULD WE CHANGE OUR POLICY FOR ONE CUSTOMER WHO HAS A COMPLAINT"!. I drove right back to the dealership to discuss the matter with him face to face., While expressing my frustration to him, a gentleman with dark hair and a mustache name Frank (Manager)wanted to interrupt me and give his thoughts. I advised him to allow me to finish. He then tells a CUSTOMER, 'YOU CAN LEAVE"!!! Now keep in mind, the Manager that I came their to talk with did apologize but this guy once again told a CUSTOMER who was coming to buy a car, that they can leave. So myself along with a check for $10,000.00 and the car that we were gong to trade left. Michael McConnell was very nice but these other guy's were exrtremely rude. I will stop at nothing to make sure that everyone whom I come into contact knows that Liberty Auto Plaza employ's rude people who have no respect for customer's. So far, I have told about 50 people about this experience and will continue to spread the word. K Fuller
  • Totally Unprofessional and Extremely Rude

Chatted online with the internet sales team and let them know that I was working on a budget. Rep took a note of what my budget was and said someone from the internet sales team would contact me. Next, I get a call from the manager and he leaves a voicemail. I hear him laughing on the voicemail making fun of the offer I made and also makes a few weird remarks. Totally unprofessional and extremely rude. I am surprised the manager even has a job.
  • EXCELLENT!! Recommend to anyone!

My deal was handled primarily via email which was about the only way I had time to purchase a new car at this point. From my first contact with Amy to Therese stepping in to help then Dwight helping with the rebates, Mike actually picking up my Kia and dealing with the paperwork and then Jason taking me through the final steps I could not have been happier!! Everyone was very friendly, helpful and completely knowledgeable. I have to say I traveled about two hours to get to Libertyville (via trains) and Amy picked me up at the station, which was above and beyond. Despite the distance I will use Liberty Auto for service as often as I can; although I don't expect to need anything major for many years to come. I would highly recommend Liberty to anyone looking for a new or used car in the Chicagoland area (or anywhere for that matter).
  • Over and Beyond

I researched many dealerships online for my Kia Optima. This one stood out the most. I received response right away from my inquiry. Therese gave me a quote with no hassle. I spoke with her and Dan about getting the vehicle I wanted in which they didnt have in stock. They both went up and beyond to get exactly what I wanted and didnt mind doing the leg work. When I went into the dealership everything was already set and there was no price raise and my car looked beautiful waiting for me. I will recommend Liberty Auto Plaza to everyone I know wanting to buy a car

Bought a car that turned out to need the whole front suspension replaced. I was even given a sheet of paper saying all of these things had been checked and were in proper order. Sorry, but these didn't break the day I drove the car off the lot. Horrible dealership. Don't go here if your life depends on it.
