Great Buying Experience
by Great Buying Experience on 07/10/2020Working with Braden was very enjoyable. He made us feel comfortable in determining what kind of Volkswagen worked best with not only our life style but our budget. He helped us identify features we didn't know existed and was very… enthusiastic throughout our experience. We would HIGHLY recommend Braden and VW of Downtown Chicago. Thank you!Great experience
by Allison B on 07/10/2020I’m not a fan of car dealers but I have to say they made this experience pretty easy. Nice people that seemed to really want to get me in the right car for my specific needs.Great Transaction and service
by Bob on 07/07/2020I bought a Volkswagen from Braden Carson (salesman) at Volkswagen In Downtown Chicago . I am extremely happy with the transaction. Very honest guy and exceptional customer services. No gimmicks or games, very straight forward. He explained… the numbers very well and I felt very comfortable through out the whole process. I highly recommend him if you are on the market for a VWStay away!
by VownerW on 05/25/2018RUN away from this place as fast as you can. We purchased a used TDI Jetta from VW Downtown Chicago and a just few days after our purchased found out the heater did not work. We called assuming they would stand behind the vehicle and… they basically told us it was our fault for buying the car and not buying the extended warranty from them. The car needs $600 repairs to fix the heater, so we paid over $14,000 for a car with no heat. The only option they gave us was to trade it in a new vehicle. We assumed since we bought from a VW dealership they would be reputable, however this place is the shadiest place Ive encountered in 20 years. The manager Marcus was very arrogant and offered no apology or solutions except a new purchase (umm I bought a used car for a reason it's my 3rd used jetta) sales people were nice and in a sad position and had no control over finding anything in inventory. We called for an appointment to see the car we saw on the website, they showed us everything but the first time we were there, they showed us cars that were not detailed, one with snow tires on that drove horrendously and one they couldnt even sell because it was a leased returned car. So we wasted 3 hours on a Saturday without seeing the car we had made the apt to see and were assured it would be waiting for us to see. When we came back Monday they did have the car, however the car was advertised as having 36,000 miles on the site, it actually had 86,000. We finally purchased the car since it was a TDI and thought it would last. After reviewing sale paperwork even the odometer reading state reporting document was listed incorrectly as having the 36,000 miles. (May I refer to my shady comment again)? We also contacted VW and complained and they even apologized profusely for the place and our experience. We feel that this dealership sold us this vehicle knowing that the heater did not work. Left a message for the General Manager Jason H, however apparently he is unable to return a call because he never replied. I have never has had such a horrendous experience with purchasing any vehicle as VW Downtown Chicago. I would highly recommend not even getting near this place, unless you really enjoy being taken advantage of. But I guess they assume hey Its Chicago yeah no one needs a car here that has a working heater.Buyers Beware
by Jeyadeepan on 05/18/2018Please be very careful of the dealership here. Please make sure you review the documents before you leave. Chances are documents are incomplete and show up later. They basically told me I cant leave the dealership till the deal is done.… When I had an errand to run basically asked salesman to follow me home and give me a ride back. One mystery individual marcus/Marvin/no idea what his name is kept asking us 'What can we do to do business with you today?' my answer is 'you can act scruplously for a starter' My experience was not just bad but was scary and I am still stumped by the brazen nature of this dealership. Right now the message is 'BUYERS BEWARE'. Issues 1. Bunch of documents I never signed showed up from bank. Included a service contract $1850, retail purchase agreement, pages of retail sale contract 😀.. didn't even bother to get my name right.. When I confronted them with the docs, the F & I manager coolly gave me a cancellation notice to sign. 2. In the above contracts charged me abt 1000$ for factory installed alloy wheels. Standard feature as per VW site on the second w/tech trim and also as per their window sticker. Volkswagen should take note and dissociate itself from murky dealers. Still trying to get them to refund but don't want more buyers trapped. Ideally I should waste my time and sue them to void the contract.
