  • We were treated like family

5 out of 5 starsby rashaunforrest on 08/22/2017

We had been car shopping for a large SUV with 3 rows of seating. My wife is very pregnant and had a hard time with the car shopping. The only reason we went with VW was because of the awesome sales dept. Let me tell you Amada Stacks at VW of Kennesaw is the person to see. Right from the start she greeted us, was EXTREMELY knowledgeable about all of the VW products, and was able to get us a low price on a 2018 Atlas which met all of our needs. The dealership is beautiful, it even has its own theater to wait for service and sales. Come in and ask for Amanda, she went out of her way to help us including coming in on her day off, truly an impressive experience and wonderful sales and finance team. Kevin was extremely knowledgeable about the financing and was able to work with our credit dings and still give us a top notch price.
    • Rashaunforrest, thank you for your kind words and congratulations on your new vehicle!

Friendly, knowledgeable, professional sales staff - my best dealership purchase experience so far. Fred Roberts was my sales representative and he assisted me with making a good purchase decision without pressure and aggravation. Highly recommended.

  • Great car buying experience

    5 out of 5 starsby lynnlu7 on 02/24/2017

Knowledgable, accommodating, non-pushy sales team. Really liked working with Curtis as well as Alex. Curtis addressed all my questions and concerns, and helped steer me away from a car I THOUGH I wanted. He patiently worked with me on a price that I could afford. Frank (a manager) was very nice and let me finish the paperwork the next day, since it was getting late. The waiting areas and bathrooms are very nice, clean, comfortable, modern looking, and lots of natural lighting. There is free hot coffee and drinks, snacks, and cold filtered water! These things matter when you're there for hours and days at a time (and you will be when you buy a car). I honestly wasn't planning on buying a VW but my husband made me test drive a 2011 Tiguan (certified). Of course I fell in love with it- all the luxury features, and the panoramic moon roof is gorgeous! I love that it's certified. It looked and even smelled new. I locked myself out a few days ago, and because it's certified it was free to get it unlocked. Speaking of freebies, the car came with it's service up to date, oil changed, detailed, etc. The only negative is the car was clean BUT for having been "just detailed" I expected it to be perfect, and there were some things left unfinished. Their customer service department handled it and were super nice.

  • Great time!!

5 out of 5 starsby eestime on 12/26/2016

Once again, shopping at jimellis vw@kennesaw was a stressless experience. In 2011, i purchased a brand new Jetta TDi from them when they were located in Marietta. Due to the recent emissions recall, I purchased another new vehicle. This time The Tall Hawaiian was our sales person and he made the whole entire process seamless. We came from a Jetta TDi and left with a brand new Jetta TSi. Thanks guys.
    • Eestime, thank you for taking the time to leave us feedback. We always love to receive great feedback.

  • Hawaiian Time

5 out of 5 starsby sandwiches on 11/04/2016

Had a great experience buying a car from Larry Fitzpatrick the Tall Hawaiian. He was professional, funny, straight with you, and made us feel totally comfortable throughout the entire process. I had gone to look at cars at several other places and even though they weren't all bad, there was still that uncomfortable pressure of them trying to get u to buy as high and fast as possible. There was none of that here at all. Mr Fitzpatrick stuck with us the entire day, just hanging out, looking over models, and in general making it feel like there was all the time in the world. The process went by in "Hawaiian Time" and we were totally relaxed after leaving 6 hours later with my new GTI. Yea, I know this sounds like a cheap upsell but he is 100% awesome, hit him up and you'll see what I mean.
    • Thank you very much for sharing these comments, Sandwiches. You really made our day today. We are so glad our Tall Hawaiian was able to provide you with such an enjoyable, relaxing car buying experience! @vwkennesaw

  • Outstanding Experience!

5 out of 5 starsby ColonelMac on 11/02/2016

My car buying experience at Jim Ellis VW of Kennesaw was absolutely marvelous, thanks primarily to Sales Professional, Larry Fitzpatrick, who is affectionately referred to as "The Tall Hawaiian". He was prepared and sharp, as he met me outside the front door entrance to the dealership. Larry's professionalism and courtesy is the best I've seen in the business. His personal magnetism and charm are unparalleled. I highly recommend the dealership and Larry Fitzpatrick for your next car buying venture. COL (Ret) Tom McConnell

I had been to a lot of dealerships and was so frustrated -- However, JIm Ellis VW in Kennesaw was a bright light-- superb customer service from the sales experience, to the paperwork. They were honest, no hassle, and incredibly responsive via text, email or phone, however I contacted them. They followed through on everything!! I didn't negotiate the best price, but that's my fault… I was truly impressed by this dealership!!!!!!

Saturday April 4th - I contacted Jim Ellis Volkswagen to inquire about a 2013 Certified Pre-Owned Volkswagen Beetle convertible with less than 6k miles that was on their lot since mid-January per the CarFax report. I was able to get the information needed and I left my contact information with the salesman since I was purchasing the car from a distance. He said it would not be problem since they can do everything via FedEx for the paperwork. Monday April 6th - I followed up to move forward with purchasing the vehicle. I received voicemail when I called back, no big deal. I then followed up two more times over the course of the week each time getting voicemail again. Saturday, April 11th - I asked for a different salesperson so I could move forward with things. He informed me that the prior salesman was on vacation all week, but would be back in on Monday April 13th to help me move forward with this. Monday April 13th - I was able to get a hold of the original salesman and clarify the last couple of details I had questions on. We were able to come to terms on a price for the vehicle. I was asked to provide a copy of my driver’s license and our current proof of auto insurance. Emailed the driver’s license right away. Tuesday April 14th - I followed up with the insurance card on Tuesday via email. Since we were purchasing the car from a distance, I requested to do a video conference to verify the condition of the exterior since I was comfortable with the manufacturer’s warranty (2 year / 24k miles on top of balance of original warranty) from VW. The salesman had difficulty from his end doing that so he said he would email me a video of the car. Wednesday April 15th - I received the video in the afternoon. Everything looked great and I asked for the paperwork to be overnighted to me. Friday morning April 17th - I had not heard anything back, so I followed up with the salesman. I was able to get a hold of him and he informed me the car was SOLD. I asked how they could sell the car when we came to terms on it four days ago. He said he was out on Thursday due to some personal issues and when he came in on Friday he was told the Sales Manager decided to purchase the car for his wife. (the same car that had been on the lot for 3 months) I followed up by speaking to the manager of the dealership who then asked me if I had put down a deposit or signed any paperwork. I let him know that I had done everything I was asked by the salesman and actually had to keep pushing the salesman along to get this deal done. The manager said there was nothing he could do. I was taken back at this point on how unprofessionally and shady this was handled and let them know they need to fix the problem they created. They told me they would find another car and call me back within the next couple of days. I gave them the opportunity to correct this. It has been over a week and I have not received a phone call or an email. My wife and I have decided to take our business elsewhere to a different dealership that has been on top of things and more importantly operates their business in an honest and professional manner. This other VW dealership treats their customer with respect.

Not willing to negotiate off MSRP. Went to Gunther and Nalley and got more that twice the discount and better customer service.

First off I want to thank all the terrific people at the VW of Atlanta dealership! They have done more than I could ask to acquire the car I was trying to purchase. The problem I have is, I don't understand why they had to go all the way to Nashville to get the car I want when the Jim Ellis of Kennesaw dealership had the exact car I want. For some strange reason the Kennesaw dealership said the car was sold and yet it is still on their lot. Now I am going to receive a brand new car with 600 miles on it because it has to be driven from Nashville to the Atlanta dealership. I find the behavior of the dealership in Kennesaw very unprofessional. I would have thought that moving a vehicle from one Jim Ellis dealership to another would have been a simple process. Apparently not.
