  • Steer Away From Auto Nation WPB

    How do you like my most recent post… I have a fairly simple and straight forward problem with my 2020 Cadillac Escalade (which I otherwise love). I have been a Cadillac owner for well over 30 years. My grown-up children wouldn't recognize the house if there wasn't a Cadillac parked in the driveway. But the way I was treated at this dealership will test my loyalty to not only Cadillac, but to GM has a whole.

My issue is when I drive the Escalade at a speed in excess of 80mph, the front end of the car vibrates badly. You can feel the vibration in both the steering wheel and the accelerator pedal. I have brand new OEM tires on the car. I have had the tires rotated and balanced. But the vibration is still there.

Ok. Simple enough problem. I took my car to Auto Nation Cadillac in WPB. I explained my issue to the service tech, who said they would have to test drive the car to diagnose the problem. Makes sense to me. However, by law they cannot drive the car in excess of the posted speed limit so they cannot help me. Hmmm. OK. So, how do I get my car repaired? No response. Lots of guesses...no promises...several shrugs, but I was ultimately told that I shouldn't be driving my car in excess of the speed limit. Wait a minute! Seriously! If that's the case then why does GM manufacture cars that can go in excess of the speed limit. What a completely ridiculous statement.

I politely requested to see the Service Manager. Waited 20 minutes but he refused to see me. They wouldn't give me his name. He hid in the bay area so as to avoid me. That's professional! I politely asked for his boss, a gentleman named Bob Lanier. I only know his name because I was standing outside his glass encased office. He was also too busy to deal with me. He literally wouldn't come out of his glass office which I was standing directly in front of. It reminded me of Clarke Griswald's boss in the movie Christmas Vacation. It seemed like he was picking up the phone asking his admin to get anyone she could on the phone so he wouldn't have to deal with me. It was pathetic.

At this point I politely asked to see the General Manager, John DeLisa. I figured I could at least explain my problem and get his advice on how to deal with my problem. But guess what? He was also to busy to meet with me but offered up Mr. Lanier, (and we all know where that conversation would have gone).
NOTE: Mr DeLisa, your customers are the most important element of your business. I am a SR VP at a $10 billion publicly traded company and I would be fired on the spot if I ever ducked a customer or did not try to fix an issue they were having with one of our products.

So, I will be traveling back to our Summer home in the Northeast in 2 weeks in a $100k Escalade that badly vibrates at high speed.
Apparently, GM was happy to take my cash but not as happy to give me the time of day.

If anyone knows of a local mechanic in the Jupiter/PBG area who isn't so constrained to test drive and diagnose the vibration in my Escalade, I would be grateful if you would post their contact information.

  • 2016 Escalade Cruise Control

    The cruise control sensing module had to be replaced. Brad was my service writer and was very accommodating. The cost was a little more than I expected, The part was in stock and turn around time was good. Dropped the car off at 3:00 pm and picked it up the following day.

  • Misdiagnosed and lied to

    On 12/06/23 I had an appointment to have a diagnostic test.on my vehicle I informed the service consultant I needed brake pads. After about a hour he returned with an estimate of 1400$ for a new battery brake pads and new rotors after looking at the estimate he presented I told him that I had just checked my rotors before I arrived at Autonation West palm beach and there was not a need for new rotors he replied that brake pads can not be changed without replacing the rotors. I told him that was not true and to remove the rotors from the estimate given to me. Upon his return he brought a new estimate totaling 1200$. My replied was how is it you removed 700$ from the 1400$ estimate and the total is still 1200$. He said oh they forgot to add some things the 1st time. I said give me my keys this place is a scam and I woild never return. He said ok the will be 274$ I asked for what he replied for diagnosis. He said we told you you needed a battery and brake pads and rotors. Aftrr I paid the 274$ and left. I went down the street to autozone to have the battery tested there was nlno need for a new battery my atlernater was bad not the battery. The battery was in fact good..So I paid 274$ to.be lied to overcharged and misdiagnosed. These people are terrible and will never get my business again. I.will tell everyone I know to stay away bad business. .

    At first it was very hard getting through to speak with someone one of the service gentleman call me back and left the same number that I was calling a couple of times and getting the same response. My car was towed in overnight on a Friday evening, So the safety for my car what’s outstanding but the communication was not so good, but I took it upon myself and came to the service area at AutoNation and showed them my warranty on the car because when I did speak to someone They could not pull it up in the system, but all in all the service was great. My car came back running in good condition I hope because I just drove it home it is cleaned and it’s washed and I think you guys very much and Mr. Wilson was my service advisor. He is great.

    Turning on the car became more difficult.Numerous messages came on such as "Driver assist systems disabled".I brought the car to Autonation Cadillac and they diagnosed as a dead cell in the battery.Battery was replaced and I have no issues anymore. Brad was the service advisor and Robert Lanier the service manager.They are always extremely helpful.
