New vehicle purchase
by JSAnderson on 09/20/2023Found a new Bronco on the Elder Ford in Tampa website listed for $48,000. I put a deposit of $500 on 8/8/23. Without my knowing, I later found that Elder installed another ~ $20,000 of upgrades that I did not want or ask for. I asked for… MSRP, upgrades, photos but these were never sent. I spent several hours going back and forth with the salesman, Jonathan, and the general sales manager, Anthony Serrano. On 8/11 after Jonathan insisted that the upgrades were super valuable and that the vehicle was "rare", I felt pressured but purchased it for ~$62,000 on 8/11. The next day I felt buyers remorse and notified Jonathan I wanted to return the car. He and Anthony responded that we could work something out but then they stalled, ignoring my many calls and texts. I researched Elder and found others that had similar experiences. After being ignored, I went in person to Elder on 8/17 with my fiancé. They presented a sheet of paper showing the Bronco I had bought for ~$62,000 was only worth $48k. Jonathan told me that the upgrades they had installed had no value! They offered another new Bronco Sport that was advertised at $29k. We left asking them to reconsider the value of the car I had bought. On Saturday 8/19 we met with both Jonathan and Anthony. They came slightly up on the value but no where near what I had bought it for just days prior. They showed me a paper outlining that I could trade in for another Bronco that was advertised on their site for $29k- but they had it listed on the paper at $34k. We raised this as a concern - how could they sell me a car at higher than the advertised price? and that they mislead me on the value of my original purchase. Anthony got visibly nervous and agitated - sweating, jiggling his legs, darting eyes -he became aggressive and grabbed the paper and twisted it up and would not give me a copy. I ended up making a deal that made Elder a great deal of profit. Anthony sent me threatening texts on the final arrangements.Hi, we strive to earn customers for life and I am extremely disappointed to hear of your negative experience with our dealership. by Explorer23 on 09/20/2023Overall, I have to give the dealership as a whole a 3. The sales experience was a bit odd. The dealership has a TON of sales people all over the floor and in the lot. Our salesman never introduced himself and seemed new to the dealership… and the way they do things. He was pleasant but slow. From arrival to the time we left was over 5 hours. He kept getting my name incorrect on paperwork and the wrong vin for the car I purchased. Honestly, Omar in finance saved the deal. The car I purchased was not ready so we were a sent home in a loaner with the promise that my vehicle would be delivered on Monday (Labor Day). I confirmed with the salesman that it was a holiday and he ensured me it would be delivered, no problem. Monday at noon we called and were told it would not be delivered. We then spoke to a sales manager (Will) and GM who tried to remedy the situation. My vehicle was delivered the next day with the promise of 42,000 Ford Pass Points and a wireless Apple Car Play (via Anthony Serrano). I still haven’t seen the cordless Apple Car play device. Sales Manager Will did a great job explaining the Ford app and helping me get my vehicle set up. His service was top notch. Unfortunately, he came in too late in the game for me to give a better score. Overall, this could have been a better experience.Hi, thank you for bringing this experience to our attention. Feel lied to and working much harder than them.
