Live Near This Dealership & Went Elsewhere
by DJSteve1 on 06/05/2020Title says it all. Live 15 mins from Mel. Toyota and ended up buying my new vehicle 60 miles away after haggling with guys over $400. They have a managers special and showed me a repair bill of $750 done on a broken window. Sure they said… they discounted the price BUT ended up increasing the cost after a whole bunch of other things. My salesman, Jasper, was great and thought he had a deal but someone above him sat with us and wouldn't come down to the asking price I got in 15 mins from Seminole Toyota. Look elsewhereMy New Toyota Rav 4 XLE
by scampbell on 12/01/2016I recently bought the Toyota Rav 4 XLE. This is actually my first Toyota. We are so happy with this car. My sales rep., Cliff Alford, was so friendly and informative that the sales experience was very pleasant and did not take long. He… explained all the features of the car and made sure we would be able to utilize them. He checked with us off and on to make sure we were doing ok with it. The car is beautiful and runs very quietly. We are very happy with the comfort of the seats and how easy it is to get in and out of. We know we made the right choice of car and with the right dealership!Does not honor their word even when I have it in writing
by dianecanaveral on 03/14/2010I worked a deal via email and phone calls with Toyota of Melbourne sales rep Lonnie. He understood my husband is only home on the weekend so I wanted to spend as little time as possible at the dealer. Lonnie was not going to be in on… Sunday so emiled all the final numbers including fees, taxes..... He said all you will have to do is test drive the car and sign the paperwork. We test drove the car liked it went in to sign the papers and then all the deception began. Jim tried telling us it was a certified car (which it was not), then they changed the price of the trade in (one of the reps said that we were given that number so we would come in to see how nice the car is, then they said he quoted the wrong car (but we had the right vin number), then Chris (the manager told us that even though we had it in writing it was wrong and that his rep gave us the wrong pricing). We bought two cars from this dealership and felt we could trust them, it is very clear Toyota of Melbourne sales practices have greatly changed for the negative. By the end of all this I felt extremely foolish for falling for their deceptive practices. Please be very careful if you do decide to do business with them and make sure to re-read the terms because they may change them even after you think you saw the final number.Sold 2005 Infiniti FX35 that pours smoke out of exhaust- dealer wont help
by usedjunk on 03/26/2009I traded in my truck for an '05 Infiniti FX35. It has 26000 miles on it. Finished the paperwork and deal at 9:30 pm on 3/25/2009. Started the car up to leave and smoke poured out of the exhaust. They gave me the car on empty. Went to get… gas in it. Restarted the car and smoke poured out. Idled at a stop light and took off, smoke poured out of the car. Took the vehicle into Toyota of Melbourne at 8 am on 3/26/2009 requesting my truck back and they would not do anything. They told me I need to go to the Infiniti dealership. Horrible customer service and refuse to do anything besides get the vehicle service by the Infiniti dealership!!Deceptive and unethical sales practices
by serrem on 12/21/2007I went to test drive a Prius that was listed on the Internet. I liked the car and was prepared to buy if the price was right. David Meager, the Sales Manager, presented me with a written price, Although the price was higher than I had… expected and included a trade-in on my current car $5000 below blue book value, I agreed, and left a deposit. A week later, when I arranged to close on the car, Mr. Meager stated that he had made a "mistake" and his written commitment was $2000 too low. He then tried to reopen negotions that I thought had been concluded. This is classic "bait and switch". Please, please, do not give your business to these [violative content deleted].I couldn't agree more with the consumer voicing a complaint about Toyota of Melbourne, Florida, as it is the most dishonest auto dealership that I have ever dealt with. As a 55 year old male who purchases a new car every 2-3 years, that saying something. No doubt the response to the consumer complaint was written by the salesman posing as someone else, or some other Toyota of Melbourne employee, as I would not put anything past this band of conmen posing as salesman..! Speaking objectively, I have visited this dealership 4 times as an Edmunds educated cash buyer, and someone who understands and believes that people need to make a decent profit on a sale. This thinking won't get you anywhere at Toyota of Melbourne, however, as they want an excessively obscene profit, and play a shell game with numbers while trying to lure you into their trap..! Look at any of their vehicles in stock, and you'll immediately see an additional dealer price tag next to the factory MSRP tag (maroni). This additional tag contains many thousands of $$$ mark-up for items such as "market adjustment," among other things, and other nonsense stuff that doesn't have any price associated with it, other than the $$$$ total at the bottom, which is then added to the factory MSRP..! This is quite obviously done to "cloud" the actual purchase negotiations between the consumer and Toyota of Melbourne, and put the consumer at a distinct negotiating disadvantage from the onset. I was prepared, however, due to edmunds.com, and struck a reasonable deal. I left, only to be called later, much as the other reviewer above, and told that they had made a math error, and that the price was actually 2000 more..! Sorry Charlie..! Well, I waited a couple of months and went in once again (2nd trip of 4), and wasn't able to strike a reasonable deal, with them playing their shell game with numbers, the good guy -- bad guy salesman routine, and so I walked. They did this on my 3rd visit also. On my 4th and final visit they did the same thing to me as on my 1st visit, calling me on the phone and backing out on an agreed upon price once again..! They then proceeded to harass me over the phone, calling at all hours day and night, forcing me to get my number changed..! Avoid this place at all cost, unless of course, you don't mind dealing with dishonest salesman and paying 1000's over the legitimate dealer invoice MSRP..! Take your business elsewhere -- I did..!
I worked in the car business for many years. it is possible to make mistakes. In fact I had the pleasure of buying a car from Mr. David Meagher (not Meager...if you are going to post something that is degrading to another person, you can at least spell there name right) He was very courteaus, and I would definitely purchase my next car from Toyota Of Melbourne. It is consumers like you that give sales people a bad name. John
Before you post here to complain about someone spelling something incorrect, you should make sure YOU can spell. YOU ARE THE TYPE THAT GIVE THE REST OF THE LOWLIFE CAR SALES PEOPLE A BAD NAME! Just look at the incorrectly spelled words and poor punctuation. HAHAHAHAHAHA! RELAX!!!! by jfaltos on 02-02-08 (02:55PM) I worked in the car business for many years. ***it*** is possible to make mistakes. I came across this review while looking for a car...granted the comment was made 2 years ago but someone will read this: Wow 'John' or are you Mr. Meagher? You scare off potential car shoppers like me with your attitude. Is this the same holier-than-thou attitude us consumers are to expect from the people in the car business industry? Are you still working in that industry? If you are, please share with us which dealership you work at and I'll make sure not to do any business there. Oh wait you stated that you 'worked' in the car business so there must be a reason why you're not in it anymore huh? I'm happy you had a great experience with Mr. Meagher but to belittle another consumer who had a bad experience is plain bad business. And to post one's feelings about an experience does not mean it's degrading. It is a personal opinion. Oh and if you're going to correct someone on the spelling of a name, you should consider using spell check for your grammar and typos. Oh wait, did they not teach you how to use those tools in the car business along with your arrogant attitude? FYI C-O-U-R-T-E-O-U-S and 'their name' not 'there name'. It's people like you who give car businesses a bad stereotype. Now go back under the rock you climbed out from under. Nuf said.
This response to the consumer complaint was obviously written by the salesman or some other employee at toyota of melbourne... but it doesn't surprise me one bit that they would resort to such tactics, because this dealership is the ABSOLUTE WORST when it comes to honesty and integrity that i have ever observed..! and as a 55 year old man who typically purchases a new auto every 3 years, that's saying something..! But, ok, let's get to facts. i have been to this poor excuse for a car dealership on 4 separate occasions as an edmunds informed and educated cash buyer. i should have learned my lesson the very first time, but i kept talking myself into believing that each of my previously horrible experiences was due to the salesman having a bad day, and that things would change for the better. man, was i ever wrong, as this dealerships lack of honesty and integrity is a dealership hallmark..! the carmaker MSRP means nothing to these thieves, and even if you believe, as i do, that the dealer needs to make a reasonable profit on a sale, forget it, cause they want more..! they even go as far as to put another dealership markup tag next to the carmaker msrp tag (maroni), claiming, among other things, a market adjustment upward(on a toyota..?, and other non-sensical items tallying up to several thousands more than the actual carmaker MSRP tag. this is done, of course, to intentionally cloud the actual price of the vehicle, and give them a lopsided edge in any price negotiation. so you can forget the facts when dealing with these conmen posing as salesman at this dealership, because you can never get straight talk, and/or honest facts from them..! to top it off, they're all the most arrogant, uneducated idiots that you'll ever meet..! so save yourself some time and take your business elsewhere -- i did..!
My new Highlander
by Robert_Langram on 01/28/2014updated 08/03/2025This was easy and straightforward. Seymour gave me all the information including pricing online. My new Highlander was pulled up in front when I got to the dealership. I was out of there in less than an hour. Thank you!Above and beyond
by peyton9 on 01/29/2014updated 08/03/2025They went and found my dream Tacoma. My salesman Seymour simply went above and beyond, getting the truck and keeping me informed through the whole process. Than you!Five star service
by james283 on 11/04/2013updated 08/03/2025I usually hate buying cars, but this time was different. From my salesperson, Mike V., to the whole process, this couldn't have been easier. The customer service makes you feel like you are in a fine dining restaurant rather than a car… dealership. They seemed more interested in teaching me about the Camry and my options than in getting me to buy the car. Of course, I did buy my Camry and I am very happy. I couldn't recommend this dealership more strongly. JamesFantastic
by JHR121 on 10/30/2013updated 08/03/2025I had one of my best experiences buying a car at Toyota of Melbourne. Tom B. was very knowledgeable of the car and he was a delight to work with. I recommend to all my friends looking for a car to go here first.my new s corolla

Mary k.A shame to Toyota
by melbourne2 on 06/25/2013updated 08/03/2025I recently went car shopping with my brother for a new Toyota Tacoma. My brother has taken over a year to research the vehicle he wanted and talked to the salesmen to negotiate a final price. Upon going to the dealership to make the final… sale, the salesman didn't listen to us and came back with an offer that was higher than any other offer (even what was listed as the sales price on the computer system). After talking to the salesman about what numbers were promised to us, the salesman became very angry and completely stopped listening. At one point I had to interrupt the salesman and restate what my brother was trying to communicate. He decided that it was appropriate to tell me to "Shut up" because I was not part of the sale. At this point we decided that the sale was over and went to shake Paul's hand. Instead of shaking his hand, he stormed out bumping into my shoulder. This was extremely rude and he did not give our car keys and insurance card back. When going to retrieve our keys from the manager, Casey D., Paul pointed his finger at the door and told us to get out. After finally retrieving the keys/ paperwork I decided it was best to stay outside. When leaving the dealership, Paul repeated the phrase "He's been here six [non-permissible content removed] times and won't just buy" to the manager. My brother stayed to clear his information from the dealership's computer system with the manager. Instead of apologizing to my brother about the salesman, the manager continued to try to sell the car. I have never been treated so badly from a dealership, let alone any other person. Toyota prides itself on its quality and service. From the experiences we have had today, I will always have a tarnished view.True service
by susanj4 on 12/09/2013updated 08/03/2025I couldn't be happier with my Prius purchase from David w. at Toyota of melbourne. He taught me how to work everything on the car...took over an hour! I got a great price with great service. He just made it easy. SusanWould Recommend and Buy there again..
by mary643 on 05/17/2012updated 08/03/2025I was in the service department and this kind gentleman came over and asked me if I needed any help. I really wasn't there to purchase a car but I thought that I would ask him a few questions that I did have on the new Camry. Ben was the… Salesman that helped me. I have always had a very good experience with Toyota of Melbourne. But let me tell you Ben was wonderful. Very kind and informative. He took the time to listen to my questions and answered them in a way that I understood. He definitely went the extra mile on working with me and made the experience great. The sales team laid everything out to me and made my car buying experience easy. After leaving with my new Camry, I knew I got a good deal and I will definitely come back when its time for another vehicle and recommend to every one.Shady Dealership looking for high profits AVOID
by destin4 on 04/14/2012updated 08/03/2025Went in because Toyota of Melbourne was offering $5k off MSRP of all Camry's. While trying to negotiate a deal, we noticed a customer picketing in front of the dealership, his sign said "Toyota of Melbourne [non-permissible content… removed]." Another customer told us while we were waiting that he was in trying to solve a purchase problem where he paid for a higher-end vehicle, but received a lesser model, and was thus ready to join the picketer on the sidewalk. He thought he was getting a good value, but they switched paperwork on him. Hearing this, we also walked because even though Edmunds provides true-market analysis for vehicles, Melbourne's final offer to us, was only $900 below their hiked up MSRP (taxes, trade-in discounts included) or $4500 over true-market value. Even worse, they failed to offer the $5k advertised discount and a $500 military cash back incentive and only offered us $1500 for our trade-in, valued at $3700 and $5600 retail. They actually wanted more for a Camry than we paid for our 4Runner that had more options. It's shameful to say avoid this dealership, since it takes money out of our local economy, but your time and pocketbook will be better served driving to Orlando for a Toyota!destin4. Thank you for your feedback. Your satisfaction is very important to us, and we want to provide all of our customers with great service. We would like the opportunity to change the negative impression you have of us. If I had your complete name, I would reach out to you directly. Please feel free to contact me at your convenience. My phone number is (321) 254-8888 and ask to speak with Ms. Vaske, Owner Relations Manager. We thank you for your time and your feedback.

by cori_j on 05/18/2012updated 08/03/2025I visited Toyota of Melbourne only to simply take a look at the Scion FR-S because I wasn't ready to trade in my car for a new car until the end of this year. Sean McGee introduced himself right when I got there and took me to go look at… the Scion. While taking me to the car he gave me a ton of knowledge about the car as if I was in a training class learning about this car. He was really respectful and customer service savvy with his professionalism. I was appreciative of that. The visit went from looking at the car to ending up with the keys in my hand. I want to thank Sean and everyone else at Toyota of Melbourne for providing great help and customer service for my visit. Definitely give Sean McGee a raise for giving a friendly atmosphere and not making me feel like everything was just a sales pitch. I would definitely recommend this Toyota dealer and Sean's services to my friends and family. They turned my day from bad to good in a matter of seconds and was fully professional with the knowledge they had.Great car buying experience

by Tripphammer on 12/02/2013updated 08/03/2025I bought my new Corolla last week from Joe M. at Toyota of Melbourne. It was the easiest car purchase I ever had. I will tell everyone to see Joe if they need a new car!David W.
by jennyo2 on 01/01/2014updated 08/03/2025I have nothing but positive remarks about Toyota of Melbourne and David W. in particular. David assisted me in buying a Toyota Camry and I was very pleased with the whole experience. I was pretty nervous making such a big purchase and… basically I know nothing about cars! David was knowledgeable and his wonderful personality set me at ease. He so clearly loves what he does! I will be taking my teenager back for his first car and look forward to working with David again.I want to thank you for your compliments. I will certainly pass them on to David. We work hard here at Toyota of Melbourne to make sure our salespeople are both professional andd knowledgeable. Enjoy your new Camry! Jason Schadel, Sales Manager
