  • Steer Clear!

I purchased a used vehicle from Infiniti of Fort Myers, and a few days later I noticed a Service Airbag message. When it began coming on every time I started the vehicle I contacted the dealership to see if they knew what the problem was. They indicated it was "normal." This obviously makes no sense. Soon after I noticed that when I had a passenger riding with me, their airbag would shut off sporadically while the car was driving. Because this is extremely dangerous, and since Infiniti had been of no help, I took the car to a dealership near me, who diagnosed the problem as a defective airbag sensor in the passenger seat that needs replacement. I sent that information over to Infiniti, expecting them, as a reputable dealership, to offer to either reimburse me for the repair or have the vehicle repaired themselves. Instead, they claimed this was not their problem. Any truly reputable dealership would take responsibility for a dangerous defect that was obviously present before I purchased the vehicle. I warn you to steer clear of this dealership...I wish I had.

  • I should have known better

I purchased a vehicle from dealership that a friend of mine had sold to the dealer 2 days before. I knew price that they paid my friend. I was hoping purchase the vehicle near price. However, I knew I would have to pay something over and above their acquisition cost. After test driving vehicle, I spent some time with the manager discussing the price. He told me they had started reconditioning the vehicle and had spent $1900 on the car. He said they would have to make another thousand on top of that. I reluctantly agreed. He told me he likes negotiating directly with the customer. That way there will be no surprises. He showed me the deal on his screen. $30,600 plus tax/tag/title. Fine, not exactly what I was expecting, but fine. Here is the important part.... So, just like every other dealer, you go to meet the finance guy to finish the transaction. Shows invoice, and the numbers don't seem to add up. I look more closely at it, and there is a $699 charge. It says doc fee. The guy said, this is an intangible fee, you just have to pay it. It's part of the deal. I should've walked out at this point. Standard dealer move, change the deal at the last minute. I tried multiple times to get him explain the fee. He said it's for the dealership. It's the money they have to make. I told him that's with the thousand dollar padding on the deal was for. Kept saying, it's an intangible. It's part of the deal. I tried to explain to him what was intangible to him, was very tangible to me. $699 plus tax is tangible! So, if you plan to buy a car from this dealer, or any dealer, make sure you see the final invoice before you agree to the deal. When the manager says, "I want to make sure there are no surprises", be assured that that is an indication that there will be many surprises! The friendliness of the staff caught me off my guard. I should have remembered that I was buying a car, and to be skeptical of everything they say. I thought my last two cars at Largo Honda, and had gotten used to their policy of no sharks, no surprises. I'll be more careful next time.

  • Great Dealership, with a Disappointment.

UPDATE 11/22/11, online inventory had listed a vehicle I was interested in, 2004 G35 for $14999. Selling cost of my FX45 was $18950. The exchange of vehicles would have cost me $3108. So much for their Satisfaction Guaranty policy.

  • Not up to Infiniti Level of Customer Service

This is my second Infiniti, which I purchased used. My FX35 is a great car, however Infiniti of Ft Myers can be difficult to deal with after the sale. Follow-ups to get them to correct their errors on invoices involved almost a week of phone calls and e-mails, and ultimately a call to Infiniti Corporate. There were missing pieces to the video system, and the vehicle came with only one key - about $400 to replace. The owner of Infiniti of Ft Myers called me and was rude, complaining that he can't help me since "he sold the car at a loss." Fortunately I don't live in that area, and my local dealer - Infiniti of Tampa - has always been great to me. I know better now, it's not worth driving to save a few dollars. I have paid for those minor savings many times over. At least I still have a nice car, I won't let the initial transaction ruin everything, live and learn!

  • Excellent Service but, Buyer be aware

Excellent buying experience. This is a first class dealership. Excellent service department and highly customer friendly. The dealership goes above ones expectation. I have only 1 negative comment to leave and with a suggestion to anyone who is contemplating on buying a used car here. I recently purchased a used vehicle and traded another. First mistake I made was doing so without my spouse's approval. The dealership does indicate that they have a satisfaction guarantee which would allow the buyer to exchange the car purchased, for another of equal or higher value. Just make sure that they have a second choice on the lot. Seeing that they did not have a vehicle in my price range that I was interested in, I inquired about reversing the sale. I did not expect that the procedure would be free of cost but, did not expect to be told that it would be an even trade. The price for the car I purchased was my trade in, plus $7400. I only mention this so you are aware if in a similar situation. UPDATE 11/22/11, online inventory had listed a vehicle I was interested in, 2004 G35 for $14999. Selling cost of my FX45 was $18950.
