After visiting local dealers and requesting quotes on several websites that specialize in getting… prices, my decision on where to buy was easy and well worth the drive from Stonington Ct.. Stephen at Hartford VW offered a great out the door price on exactly the car we wanted. Their Internet sales dept is far superior to others no coupons or other gimmicks. Stephen personally delivered the car to the commencement!! Thank you Stephen and Manager Bill for an easy and painless purchase!Great service and flexibility

We identified things that needed repair on the vehicle and the Subaru was serviced accordingly. John the salesman… even came in on his day off to deliver the car. by Jffchn on 05/19/2014updated 08/02/2025Having searched on line and then traveling to one VW dealer I thought I found the car I was looking for. I had but the sales process bogged down and as a highly motivated and qualified buyer I was delivered nothing but road blocks and… negative feedback. Communication was spotty as well and had to go through a higher authority each time. Frustrated I walked away. Searching dealer inventory on line I found the vehicle I was after at Hartford VW. I sent an email and got an immediate response from Stephen. When I started the process by throwing something out to initiate the "process" Stephen never reacted negatively or tried to counter he simply said "let me see if we can do that. That was an answer he gave repeatedly. That he was willing to explore my terms and offer motivated me to visit which I did and no changes from my email conversation sealed the deal. No BS just an earnest and credible effort to close a reasonable deal. No dealer is set up to give a vehicle away and there is no motivation to loose money on any sale but VW of Hartfird seems to understand part of the equation is moving inventory as they offered me the vehicle for significantly better terms than 5 other dealers I negotiated with. My experience with Stephen and VW of Hartfird was refreshing in that it never seemed me against them more like we worked together to get a deal that met my expectations and still for them paid some of the rent. Great experience.Wonderful Experience

Was able to get a great deal on a VW Jetta SE and have it parked right outside my house in less than a week! My salesman, John C., was simply wonderful! Friendly, genuine, down to… earth and helpful in every way possible. He helped choose the right vehicle, suited to my needs and budget, without being pushy like other salesmen and even called later on to check up on how things were going! Being new to the City I was anxious about going through the difficulty of finding a car in a timely fashion and within a reasonable price range but found the whole process at this dealership rather stress-free and very smooth. If you want a great deal, excellent service, a friendly face and supportive attitude, VW of Hartford is the place to go and ask for John C. when you walk in!Great Customer Service Experience!

I had visited 3 other VW dealerships looking for a new GTI. They matched the best price I received for a '13 GTI with a… '14 equipped at the same level. Not at all high pressure, they honestly seemed willing and able to go those extra steps for my business. I would highly recommend Volkswagen of Hartford.Easiest deal I have ever done

by travisophila on 03/14/2011updated 08/02/2025Very poor experience, first time I bought a car from a dealership, I thought I did enough research, but still completely ripped off, on price and trade-in value. Was not allowed to give as much of a down payment as I wanted, the only reason… I suspect is to rip me off on financing charges. Car itself "passed" their inspection, but I keep finding more problems with it, including problems with the battery, brakes, oil filtration system, transmission and oil leaks. I bought the car with a warranty but it appears the dealership is reluctant to do anything about my problems. I can not stress enough that people should not deal with this dealership and due to the lack of help from VW America I think buying any Volkswagen product is a huge mistake.Leasing for Expat

I have contact VW of Hartford and get a great support! I get the car within only one business day. My sales manager… Stephen exactly know which documents (VISA, I-94, employer statement, etc.) I need to get the approval form VW Credit as soon as possible. Great job guys! I love my new VW CC Sport!Would Definitely Come Back!!

Each time I worked with Ernie and each time I came to see a different car (an EOS, a 2010 beetle convertible and lastly, a 2013 TDI beetle convertible). Upon entering the dealership I was always… welcomed by a courteous employee. I was not left standing around waiting. Ernie was very patient, easy going, knowledgeable and pleasant to deal with while going thru each test drive and during the negotiating process. He took the time to find out what my driving patterns were. He recommended that I try a TDI (clean diesel) vehicle. Steve the sales manager, Ray in finance and Rich also were courteous, pleasant and personable. My overall experience surpassed my expectations and I believe that I could not have gotten the car from another dealer for a better price. I would definitely return to this dealership to buy our next VW.The accelerated sales process here at VW of Hartford aims to please!
