by Molly on 04/23/2024Unfortunately I had an awful experience at Corwin. If I can save even one person from giving their money to this dealership, I will consider this review worthwhile. Specifically if you are a woman or a first time car buyer, please read. I… went into the dealership because my lease was up. I had already visited 3 other dealerships in the area but last minute decided to visit Corwin. This was a Friday night around 5pm, and I wasn't expecting to be there for more than an hour or so. Of course, how things always go, I ended up finding a car I liked, and started the process of purchase. It was clear that my sales rep was a bit inexperienced-- he didn't really know what he was talking about and brought over his sales manager to help close the deal. No issues quite yet. It's starting to get late and everyone is leaving, including the sales manager (around 8pm at this point). Fast forward to 10pm, I'm still at the dealership, alone with the sales rep and the finance guy (in the back). This is where it gets upsetting. I'm told that the sales manager had made a mistake, and in order to get me to the promised monthly payment he has to bump up my loan from 72 months to 84 months. Clearly that is not the same deal that was promised, so I told the finance guy that I'm going to walk away. He starts gaslighting me, essentially telling me it's not a big deal and he's confused why I would want to walk away. I stand my ground & go back to the sales rep, told him what's happening & that I'd like my keys back and to finish this up another time. The rep is upset, stands up, and starts screaming expletives. "[non-permissible content removed]. GOD DAMN IT. GOD [non-permissible content removed] DAMN IT." are just some examples. Again, I'm a young woman alone at the dealership and it's now almost 10:30pm at night. I'm just trying to stand up for myself. I was sooo uncomfortable. Deals fall through all the time, it's a part of life if you're in sales. I also didn't make the choice for this guy to stay hours after his shift-- HE made that choice. It was unprofessional for him to take his anger out on me. 2 minute later, the sales rep & the finance guy come back to where I'm sitting and tell me "GOOD NEWS!". Apparently (at 10:30pm) the finance guy called in a favor with the colorado credit union and got me a better interest rate. Ok great, they are honoring the original deal. I felt uncomfortable but made the choice to follow through anyway. We finish the paperwork and finally everything is done. I get my new car and there is no gas. When I test drove at 6pm there wasn't any gas either and the sales rep was supposed to fill it up-- He clearly forgot. He's clearly even more pissed now & tells me he will put gas on his personal CC and get reimbursed. He gets in the car with me at 11pm and gives me directions to a gas station 5 minutes away, we sit in silence. I'M SO UNCOMFORTABLE. this could be the beginning of a horror movie. He doesn't fill up the tank all the way, and I drop him back off at his car at the dealership. I shouldn't have been put in that situation. That was my experience the night of, however, the worst part of my experience was my conversation with the GM, Greg Heinz. When telling others about my experience, they were all shocked. When telling Greg, he could not have cared less. He didn't validate my experience at all, saying things like "IF that's what happened", telling me that the dealership had sold 60 cars since I had been in sooo, & saying that unfortunately buying a car is nerve-wracking for some people. He put everything back on me and didn't take any accountability for how his employee acted towards me. He said they didn't hold me hostage. He truly failed to see any issue with my experience. At the end of the call, he shocked me by requesting a 5 star review in exchange for a second set of keys for my car. I was taken aback-- it wasn't a 5 star experience, nor a 5 star problem solving conversation. There's only so much I can convey through typing up this review, but I truly wish I would have purchased a new car from literally anywhere else. To some of you, this experience might not seem like a big deal, but it was upsetting for me. I hope no other young women or inexperienced car buyers have to go through such a [non-permissible content removed] customer service experience like this.Classic upselling
by wbrewerMD on 12/09/2023We have bought 3 new vehicles from this location. It was recently acquired by "Corwin" . We went in intending to purchase a Highlander Hybrid, $45,000. They only had dark or black colored versions. We requested a light color. They said… they could get one. 5 days later they said we would have to pay $3000 more because of "supply and demand" (basically inflation which is currently 3.2%). I told them that was 6% inflation in 5 days which is absurd. They then said they would waive the inflation premium if I bought blinky brake lights and theft insurance. I said no. Then they requested that I trade in my Prius. I said no. Then they asked me to finance the car even though I had cash on hand to buy it outright. At this point, I decided to go elsewhere. The manager insulted me for refusing to negotiate further. These people are dishonest and greedy.
