Sold Car to Someone Else Because Not a San Diego resident!
by Rob on 12/16/2021Kearney Mesa Ford doesn't appreciate customers from out of San Diego county nor has any integrity. I found a 2022 Ford Maverick online and reached out to confirm availability. After receiving their price quote I agreed to it 100% without… any negotiation. I only asked if it could be delivered to me as logistically it would be challenging. I did however say that I would figure it out if otherwise not the case. I've made prior purchases basically online for 2 other vehicles which where some distance and in Los Angeles county where traffic is much more horrendous than Orange County or San Diego traffic. I was provided a link to apply to Ford's site and this page asked which dealer was I going to go with which of course was Kearney Mesa Ford. Seconds after the submission the site said I was approved and to provide the reference number to the dealership which I did immediately. About an hour later I was told to fill out another online application but from Kearney Mesa's website because they can't get the initial one from Ford. I applied immediately and texted that it was good to go. Literally minutes later I'm being told that someone else is looking at the vehicle and if they don't proceed with the purchase it would be mine. I can say being upset is an understatement but I kept it cool and professional as getting angry gets no one anywhere. I called and spoke to the manager in which I was told I was given the wrong application and that the owner prefers to sell to San Diego residents. I was promised that the next vehicle would be mine which I know is a false promise as inventory of Mavericks and especially hybrids are going to be very challenging to acquire. And don't forget I was told SD folks get priorities so why would I be in line for another vehicle? I basically wasted my time and effort and now have 2 credit inquiries on my credit reports. Thank you...not!Car buying

I had heard really bad stories about car dealerships in the past. But with them it was very transparent and… easy. Through out the whole process of purchasing a car, he gave my a lot of information and was very thorough, he was also quick and simple. He told me what he could do for me, I told him where I stood and they ended up working something out with me. After the purchase he was very kind to follow up and check on me from time to time to see if I had questions or concerns. I can confidently say i ended up making a friend. I can confidently say Brian will make your car buying experience great, he is a no pressure sales advisor and he has a nonaggressive tone. For me being a first time buyer he helped me get approved and gave me a great deal. I also have to thank his manager MIKE MOHKTAR due to so much experience in the car business he was able to get me approved. Couldn't be happier. Already planning on getting a second car for my family and of course planning to go to them again. If you plan on purchasing a new ford or Kia or any used vehicle go see Brian.Great place to buy a car!

Bill was fantastic. He was extremely knowledgable about the car and took quite a bit of time… going over it's unique electric vehicle quirks. Great buying experience.Thanks Adam
by kipper1975 on 09/28/2011updated 08/03/2025Adam, was awsome, treated me and my wife like people not just another sale, explained the different cars and showed us what we wanted to see, even took us to see the brand new off the truck cars. From the time we found our new car, till we… signed the papers he made sure it was cleaned and full of gas. TD handled our loan contract, explianed everything, if it wasn't writen out he wrote it out, very good job. And at delivery I don't remember his name but, he took me and my wife to the car and explained all the features for us, very knowledgable. All in all very good job from price quote on the internet to me driving my new car off the lot. I would refer a freind here...
