  • Great Staff, Seamless Buying Process

    5 out of 5 starsby smith335i on 04/03/2015

I am normally a BMW owner/buyer. I currently have 5. I am very used to not only the performance of their vehicles but the customer service which goes along side. That being said I would have to say Bridget H. and fellow staff at Towne Ford are top notch and completely on par. Her efficiency in helping me figure out what i needed to actually acquiring the vehicle was a painless and actually enjoyable experience. To the point i would defiantly buy from her again and will be back in the near future to purchase another Ford.

SF Bay Area buyers, if you are considering a Ford, make sure you DO NOT waste time going to Towne Ford at Redwood City, CA. We have decided to buy/lease an all-electric car and we also decided to go test drive the Focus Electric first. So I scheduled a test drive of the focus electric 3 days ahead through Ford's website. I got 2 confirmation calls from customer service and everything was fine and confirmed. I even had a confirmation number and everything. Despite all that preparation, to my surprise, nobody at the store had any idea that I had a test drive schedule! So that was just the bad 1st impression I had. Then, luckily, there was a focus electric available at the store that I could test drive. That part was OK. The employee that rode along with me and my wife was very nice and kind. But while we were test driving the car, I explicitly asked for an appraisal of my wife's car that we want to trade-in. The car was sitting there for more than 30 minutes while we were test driving and, again, to my surprise, my appraisal request was completely ignored and when I asked for the numbers on a 36 mo. lease of the car, considering the trade-in, then the 2nd salesman asked me "where was the car" when I had clearly asked for the appraisal before because my wife had an appointment and would need to leave and take the car. Even worse, when I explained that to the salesman, he actually got upset with me because the car wasn't there. From that moment on, things only went south. The 2nd salesman was the complete opposite of the 1st one. He was very rude, he did not take me to a place where I could sit down and wait and then possibly have a conversation about the car and the lease conditions. He was just running around, clearly giving me the impression that he did not care at all about my business. And that turned out to be absolutely true when he finally gave me the numbers without considering the trade-in, of course. Turns out the monthly payment for the 36mo. lease was more than $100 higher than the number I had already simulated on Ford Finance's website for the very same car, same trim, same msrp, even same color! And when I tried to explain and ask about why there was this insanely high difference, he simply dismissed me as if he had much better and more urgent stuff to attend to. Well, too bad. As people use to say, first impressions are very important. And the one I left with was the worst possible. Very unlikely that I'll do business at this store, much less recommend it to anybody. PS: today I began to understand why I can't find any Focus Electric on the streets but I see a Nissan Leaf at every corner...

  • False internet pricing to get you in the door.

Bait and switch. Got quoted on a 2013 Fiesta with a $3,000 rebate. It was much lower than my local dealership, so I double checked and was assured it was the correct price. I called and specifically talked to the agent quoting, telling her than it was a fairly substantial drive for me and I wanted to be double sure. Again, I was told it was absolutely the correct price and to just talk to Wilson when I got there. Well, when I got there Wilson was always busy, so I got a salesman. After a quick test drive, despite having told him the price I was expecting within the first 5mins, I was told it was a mistake and that the best they could do was adding multiple maintenance agreements onto the price as well as financing the car through them being required. The two maintenance agreements that had to be added were exactly the cost of the $3,000 that rebate I was told I should receive. Despite the fact that I had a detailed email on the car price, and a detailed "out the door" price, neither of those were honored and I received nothing other than, "The price was a mistake."

  • Ford C Max SEL

No problem whatsoever. A car purchasing experience without glitches. I went for a slightly different car than the one from the Edmunds.com email "price guaranteed". They applied the same discount to the other car without a fuss. No condescending attitude towards my wife, a pleasant experience all along.

  • Wonderful store!

I don't normally write reviews but I have to for this store. Since I feel like I owe them thru great experience I had. The visit at Towne ford helped me to overcome years of therapy worth experiences I had from other stores. Also what an energetic and fun danamics they had, it made my day! Did I say 'day'? Instead I should say 'years to come'. The store doesn't seem like a mega store but they had what I wanted. What I really liked about them was that they did not pressure me to settle with anything, they helped me to tailor what I wanted. They were efficient and thorough in the search of my Mustang. What can I say? I am now their #1 customer and recommending to all my friends. And I love my Mustang.

I went to Towne at the recommendation of my friend who also bought a car from them. I was definitely not disappointed. From the beginning I was treated with respect and felt like a member of the family. The car I wanted was not in their inventory but they were able to get the exact one I wanted within a day. Brian was a great sales person - very knowledgable - and Bass (paperwork guy) was extremely helpful and funny. I would like to commend the ownership of the store for their employees, who represented the store in a very favorable light. Thanks, Towne Ford!
