  • BEWARE - classic bait and switch

    On 02/13/2015 at approximately 14:00 PST, I contacted Longo Toyota and spoke to a sales representative by the name of Amanda Cadenas. I saw an advertisement on their website and advised them the particular stock number for the eligible advertised price. She confirmed that the vehicle was available and scheduled for my to come to the car dealer at 16:00 the same day. She said to fill out the credit financing online which I need under pretense that the car was available for lease. In addition, I told her I would only fill it out if the car was available and she placed me on hold and confirmed that it was. I went ahead and submitted the application and came down to the dealer. Once arrived, she was not available and the internet sales manager by the name of Walter Kostecki then assisted us. After 45 minutes, Mr. Kostecki finally explained that the car was never available as it was previously sold but the system was not flagged as sold. Mr. Kostecki then tried to sell us a more expensive vehicle which is a classic of bait and switch. I requested the dealer to remove the credit inquiry, which they pull through experian, as I only applied under the pretense that the vehicle was available when in fact it never was. Please remove the credit inquiry as this was a blatant lie and false advertisement.
    • Longo would like to apologize for any ill feelings the consumer may have based on the case description against our dealership. Guest went into our website and submitted an online credit application on or around February 13, 2015. By clicking “Accept/Submit consumer submits and certifies that all of the statements provided in the credit application are true and are made for the purpose of obtaining credit. They also further acknowledge having read the company’s Privacy Policy Notice. It also goes onto say the consumer authorizes Longo to begin a credit investigation, including obtaining their consumer credit report. Consumer also authorized the dealership direct electronic access to their application to lenders, financial institutions, or other third parties in order to process the consumer’s application: Once again we would like to apologize to the consumer and regret we will not be able to grant their desired resolution (removal of the Experian credit check). If the consumer is interested in the removal off their credit report, they simply can go onto the Experian website and hit dispute. Longo Toyota/Scion will not contest the dispute.

  • Greatest Car Purchasing Experience

    My husband and I wanted to tell everyone our greatest car purchasing experience EVER at LONGO TOYOTA!!!! We researched the car at Edmonds and decided to go to LONGO Toyota. We met with Rene, their internet sales director and she made sure we were taken care of by Oscar. Thank You Oscar and Rene for helping us yesterday.... I have to honestly tell you that we never had such a pleasant experience buying a car.... No hazzle, No Pressure, No frustration and most of all, No time wasted. I never thought buying a car would be so fast. We test drove the car, look at other options, and got all the paper work done within 2 hours. I have never felt so enthusiastic about buyer a car. We would definitely refer our friends and family to them again in the future.

  • Tony H. - Best Sales Person Hands Down

    Tony H. was sensitive to my personal and financial needs and provided me the best options available. He quickly developed a personal rapport and treated me much better than other dealers I had visited days prior. He made my purchase enjoyable and I felt like I was treated fairly. Additionally, he managed to provide me a fair trade in price on my 2011 Camry which allowed me to purchase the vehicle I really wanted. The trade in was fair, the finance experience was exceptional, and most of all, the service was phenomenal. Longo, Tony is worth his weight in gold. If you are looking for a car, contact Tony.   • Best Place to buy a Toyota

    I had an excellent experience buying my 2006 Highlander Hybrid at Longo. They were one of only a few dealers willing to put me on waiting list 1 year before the HH came out. They called me 2 days after the car came to market, I went to test drive it, and bought it, NO HAGGLING, FOR LIST PRICE. Contrast that with Miller Toyota in LA, who tried to gouge me for an extra $10,000 for the same vehicle! Longo was completely professional and straight-forward. Also, the phyiscal dealership is very comfortable. They literally have a mini-mall food court (Starbucks, paper stand, fast food franchises) and lounge in the dealership to keep you occupied while waiting to get paperwork done. In other words, best deal, best service. Longo gives customers a fair deal, unlike dealers (like Miller) trying to rip you off. Even though Longo is an hour away from where I live, I will go there again to buy another car. (I don't usually write ecstatic reviews, but when a business earns one, I want to tell others.)

    Because I was in the market for a new Toyota Camry with navigation, I check with dealers in the area to obtain the best price possible (don't we all?). After a frustrating attempt to work with the local Toyota dealer, I sent out an email to several othe dealers requesting their best price. Longo answered back quickly. I responded the price was higher than I wanted to pay. They said that they would work with me on price. I set up an appointment. Going in, I knew that Longo had the largest inventory of Camrys in the area. Ali Adnan, one of the internet sales managers, met me at the dealership. He was low-key, but informative and answered each of my questions competently and thoroughly. He showed me the car and took me on a test drive to experience the car's performance on the street and on the freeway. It was short but very complete. Believe it or not, I have had dealers "forget" this step. I asked for his best price and received a very good one, which I negotiated to a point at which I was willing to pay. No heavy handed tactics. No sales manager coming by to tell me that I should close the deal. As mentioned by others, the paperwork was easy and painless. George Huang in Finance ran it through the computer quickly, so that it took no more than 20 minutes total to complete. Mr. Huang was also very friendly, humorous, but competent. I was in the dealership at 11 a.m. and out before 1 p.m. owning a car I liked very much. Mr. Adnan promised to deliver the car to my home (about 30 miles away) at 11 a.m. the following Tuesday. At 11 a.m. on the dot, it was in my driveway. The gentleman driving the car out showed me all of its features and answered my questions thoroughly. Again, he was very friendly and a credit to the dealership. In summary, I would rate my buying experience as excellent. The professionalism, competency and approach of Longo and its staff are to be commended.

    I am trying to buy a new toyota Corolla a week ago. Before I came I was shopping for the price. I called Longo Toyota and talked to the sales person named by George Sun. He was referred by a friend of mine who bought his toyota Camry 2 years ago. I specifically mention about what I want over the phone and repeat the spec to him twice. I asked him if he got what I want and he said he had it. So George Sun gave the quote over the phone and I immediately came to the dealership within 1/2 hour. After I talked to him he asked me to fill out the paperwork. He said that he want to talk to his sales manager. After 15 minutes he came back and he said that he couldn't give it to me with the price he quote it to me over the phone. He said his manager wouldn't approve it. After several negotiation He said that he won't give it to me. So we left the place and feel disapointed and waste our time almost 2 hours. A couple day later I found out that he run my credit report without my permission. I called him right away and he said he apologize because he thought I am going to buy the car and finance it thru Toyota. I talked to his sales manager and fleet manager named by Kahn. and they repeated the answer the same things. I feel violated and mistrust by the company and its staff. You guys show a very bad customer service and disrespect to your customer. I know that these people put the great named of Longo Toyota down to the drain. I did not expect anything in return but feel violated and humiliated. I hope someone from Toyota Co read my comment and fix the issues. thank you

    A friend bought a 08 Corolla & I bought my 08 Yaris S there. Service is great. Different from all the others. They took me very seriously even though I look like im 15 years old, (really 19) while others questioned my seriousness in purchasing a new vehicle. They don't hassle you. The sales associate told me "whenever you are ready, just let me know, don't rush to buy a car." I easily talked down the sticker price by simply asking. no arguing. nothing. :) They don't follow you around. They take you around in golf carts. FASSSST paperwork. was in an out with my new car within one hour :)
  • Online / Internet sales experience - slow responses, seemingly uneager

    Tried to obtain information and purchase a vehicle online. Communication was sparse and it took a long time to get response from the internet sales associate. Internet sales activities need to be quicker and more forthcoming with information. It took 4 hours at one point to get a response and the car was already sold by that time... I imagine that internet sales reps are supposed to be at their computer much of the time - but I did not get that impression. We previously purchased a Subaru online form a dealer - the entire process online within a day. This dealer does not seem to have the internet sales process coordinated efficiently, which does not give an eager impression to sell online.

    Man, this dealer is so huge. Longo sales more than 30,000 Toyotas a year. Their parking lot and garage is bigger than shoppingmalls, and customers are been transported by golf carts inside. As you can expect, this is the best place to compare models side by side and to find one with color and equipment you want. You can also find a Starbucks and Subway there.

    Purchased a 2007 Highlander in June through an internet salesperson. Due to excellent selection and very competitive price, the 6 hr drive to the dealership and another 6 hr drive back home was worth it. All the inventory was online to browse and to choose from. Paperwork was straight forward with no pressure to purchase any add ons. Highly recommend the dealership and the internet sales department.

    We recently purchased our 5th Toyota from Longo Toyota, a 2013 Tacoma Double Cab long bed. For the last several years our salesman has been Donald P. This was, as always, a NO pressure purchase made as simply and cleanly as possible by Donald. We have always been treated with the utmost courtesy and have always made truly fair deals in our purchases. We ALWAYS recommend Longo and Donald to any of our friends who are considering the purchase of a new Toyota!

    I found this dealer on Edmunds.com with a great Internet price ...the Longo Internet sales lady confirmed the price , but the next morning she told me she would not honor the price ... then her supervisor told me that this car on Edmunds.com had never existed .. VERY DISHONEST

    I like everyone else hate going to dealerships but Longo would be the exception. I called and asked for the internet fleet manager. Once I spoke to Eddie I was sold the guy beat anyone else's quote and gave me a trade in value for my truck that I was happy with. I could not be happier with my purchase. Their was no need for negotiating. I was in and out in about an hour and a half. The only reason why it took a little longer was because they were washing the car :) Thanks again Eddie!     Just got a Prius c here from Tony H. I had asked for quotes from over 30 dealerships in California. Tony gave me the lowest price. On the day of the purchase, the whole process (including a pre-purchase test drive, DMV paperwork, and financing paperwork) took less than two hours. If you don't want to waste time or money, hit up Tony.

  • Slam dunk on our new Sienna!

    This review is for the New Car Sales at Longo. Specifically calling out our sales guy Tony H. and his Manager Casey K. Typically if you were to say you got tag teamed by the dealer it would be a bad thing, but this is not the case for the dynamic duo of Tony H. and his manager Casey K. They really made the deal happen and they were going in with a difficult hand to begin with. I happen to be at Longo this past week getting one of my Toyoto's serviced (which was also a pleasant experience this time as well) and decided to go check out the new Sienna's. Our family is growing and we needed to find out more about the van. We did not expect to drive off with one. Tony was available and took me and my wife to the lot where all the Siennas were and let us take our time to get in every single one walked us calmly (never rushed) through all the diff models and when we couldn't decide on color he drove a few of them side by side so we could compare. That was amazing service. We told Tony that we have a lease ending for our Lexus and we wanted to run in one car for the the Sienna and we were a few months away from lease ending and didn't want to make two car payments. He said don't worry he promised the deal will happen and it did. After he negotiated with us and his manager he also talked with the leasing manager and worked with the managers of Lexus to make the transition smooth. We worked out all the details and setup an appointment to drop off the old and in with the new the next day. I brought in my Lexus the next day and he drove us back and forth between the Lexus and Toyota to handle the return of Lexus and paperwork for Toyota. Knowing it was taking a bit longer than expected he grabbed us some water. His constant follow up to ensure we were happy with our car was also a plus. Tony made sure our new Sienna was spotless and even helped us move all the junk we had from our old car into the new. Gave us some shopping bags to boot. I highly recommend Tony H. We have bought 3 cars in the past 4 years, 2 of them have been from Longo. This has by far been the best experience we have ever had in buying a new car in the last 10 years! When he promised the deal is going to happen it did. He said I won't be wasting your time if it wasn't going to happen. He promised and he delivered. We walked in with just wanting to find out more about the car and ended up buying it. He really made it really easy not to say no in a good way. Both my wife and I agree that we left with a smile on our faces, got a great deal and excellent hand holding service. We will be going to him from now on and I am recommending my family and friends to see him for sure. They deserve no less than a 5 star review!

    I work in the automotive business as an expert host for Car Craft, Hot Rod and Popular Hot Rodding Magazine as well as I review cars for for Auto Trader. As you can imagine I get to see the automotive business from both the customer experience side and the behind the scenes dealer / manufacturer side of things. From time to time I am asked to help people find great deals on cars. Since I love to test drive cars and I know where to find the best deal, I am always up for helping people find a great deal. This past week I purchased a Toyota Prius (package 4) for a client; this would be my third car in just two years that I have purchased from Longo Toyota. Every time I approach finding a car, I put the word out on all the different Internet sites, requesting specific colors, model and trim. Because of my schedule, I ask for on the lot availability via email and please no calls. It’s worth pointing out that there are about 75-80 Toyota dealerships in Southern California, so immediately, my phone explodes with sales people responding to my request for no calls. One sales person after another from the usual dealerships, calling to tell me how “rare” and “hard to find” the color or trim level I have requested is. I didn’t ask how rare the car was; I simply asked if they had the car on the lot… and I guess “no calls” means, call me in car sales speak. Keep in mind; I am shopping for a white Prius, package 4, not a 1962 Ferrari GTO. Rare, hard to find, limited edition, today only, Just for you, Elvis would have bought this car… I think I have heard everything. It’s amazing how the different dealers approach a customer, regardless of what you write in the online request. Longo reminds me of Disneyland. Think about it, Longo, like Disney, is owned by a family, the Penske family. Even though the Penske family has been involved in over 330 automotive franchises and 40 vehicle brands, they, like Disney, the Penske family have never lost sight of the customer AND the customer experience. I have yet to meet a "B" player at a Penske property.. Last week, I worked with David Liu, Derek Nguyen, Henry Lawanson (who called me back from vacation in Nigeria) and Kevin Holley to bring together an amazing deal of a 2012 White Prius, package 4. Not once did I have to sit through the theatrics of "old school" sales tactics, it's just not the way they do business and I am grateful for that.
