Great, No Pressure Experience

5 out of 5 starsby Lonnie Mo on 07/11/2025

Just purchased a Kia Seltos here, had a wonderful experience. Daniel Diaz was incredible to work with. Car being purchased was for my 80 y/o mom. He was extremely patient with us and answered all of our questions. I appreciated how knowledgeable he was with all of the vehicles and made mom and I very comfortable. No pressure sales. Overjoyed with our purchase.

  • Run away! Shady and unprofessional!!

1 out of 5 starsby Kristen on 04/29/2025

We had the most unprofessional experience with a car dealership ever!!! There were SO MANY appalling aspects of this whole experience. I actually don't have enough space to list all of it here. We only put up with it because the auto tariffs were expected to go into effect the next day, and we were trying to buy before they started. The salesman, Daniel, was actually watching the Dodger game on his cell phone - volume turned up - during the entire test drive. We couldn't believe it! We're big Dodger fans, too, but we expected a show of respect and modicum of professionalism. I had to ask him to turn the volume down so we could listen to the car as we test drove it. We were looking at a CPO 2023 Kia Forte. To make matters worse, he was sick and coughing up a storm in the compact car with us, and all throughout the entire sale. No mask whatsoever. He told us he was home, sick, the previous 10 days. Since he was hacking up a lung all over us, he actually got me sick. Just two days later, I ended up with whatever he had. It was awful. There was also a Sales flag sticking out of the backseat window. So, while we drove, we could vividly hear it flapping in the wind. It sounded like we had a flat tire. My boyfriend asked what the sound was and that's when Daniel said it was the flag. The flag sound made it difficult to listen for any noises the car may have been making. You'd think they'd take it off for the test drive. Daniel made no attempt to sell us the car. We had to come up with the questions. The one question my boyfriend asked, (gas mileage), Daniel didn't have a solid answer for. He did, however, tell us the size of the gas tank. When inside the dealership, Daniel had my boyfriend sit at his desk to enter his application information on his germ infested keyboard and mouse, rather than he, the saleaman, take the application information and enter it himself. Never have I had a salesman do that. My boyfriend had to hunt down some hand sanitizer off another salesman's desk somewhere. So gross. I don't know how Daniel is still working there. These are all fireable offenses, as far as I'm concerned. After this whole mess, then we had to deal with Sarah in finance. It was late at night by this time, and it was clear all she cared about was going home. We were exhausted, too, but when you're spending $20k, you want to feel confident in the transaction. Sarah had my boyfriend write his signature so it could be saved to digitally sign the paperwork. The customer is supposed to be the one to click on each item to sign on the tablet. However, Sarah took it upon herself to quickly scroll through the entire file and applied his signature everywhere. She explained nothing. When she got to the end, she said that we were done. I told her that, no, we weren't done because she didn't review any of the documents with my boyfriend. She literally asked, "Oh, did you want me to explain that?" I couldn't believe it. This is her job, after all. While she was explaining everything (finally), she slipped over the Due Bill. I had to stop her and ask why nothing was on there because we discussed several things with Daniel that needed to be done before we would take possession of the car. Apparently, Daniel didn't tell her anything about it. I really don't have any idea what this guy actually did, except for ride in the car with us and get me sick. A lot of back and forth happened with getting the Due Bill right. We explicitly told Sarah we didn't want any sort of theft device added on. So she deactivated the alarm. However, when we were driving home, I had the nagging feeling that something in the contract wasn't right, and that maybe I didn't catch it. We immediately pulled off the freeway and pulled out the contract. Sure enough, she snuck on there on item that was never discussed. I called the manager, Alex, right away, to ask what this line meant on the contract. He actually had to Google it because he didn't even know. It turns out that it was to have the VIN etched onto the corner of the windshield as a theft deterrent. I told him the contract was wrong, as we never agreed to this. He said he's have Sarah fix the contract the following day. Ugh, there's so much more that happened, but I just don't have the energy to detail all the rest. It was a complete nightmare. Finally, I had to call the General Manager, and told him we needed to cancel the contract because after multiple rounds with the dealership, they still couldn't get things right. He didn't put up much of a fight (thankfully), and canceled the transaction for us. He did, however, send me a not-so-friendly email afterwards. Two days later, we went to Browning Mazda in Cerritos and received top notch service. Nobody tried to swindle us. Everyone was very professional and attentive. The finance manager went line by line to explain everything being signed. The experience was *WILDLY* different than what we just went through with Covina Kia. We ended uo buying a 2025 Mazda3 and drove away with total peace of mind. I hope this review helps buyers carefully consider dealing with Covina Kia. I would avoid them at all costs.
