My purchase occurred 14 December 2023. I purchased a 2015 Mercedes-Benz ML 3504Matic, sight unseen, relying on pictures, the Carfax report, and conversations with the salesperson (who is also the General Manager) Scott Knocksin. Bottom lines, I later discovered that the car was potentially unsafe to drive and needed $8.000 - $10,000 to repair/service. After taking possession of the car, I took it to a Mercedes certified mechanic to look over the car. I learned that the car has advanced rust to the rear subframe. Not only is there surface rust present, but the subframe and associated parts have holes where the rust has eaten through. My mechanic called to tell me the bad news and suggested that the car could present safety issues. He also stated that the company from which I purchased the extended warranty (for ~ $4,000) would not cover it. My mechanic checked with Mercedes, and they would not cover the cost to repair – between $6,000 and $8,000. I also learned from my mechanic that the car needed service, including servicing worn brakes. It cost me ~ $2,000 to replace filters, brake sensors, brake discs, and brake pads. In essence, I paid full retail value for a car that needed $8,000 - $10,000 of repairs to make it safe. I reached out to the salesperson, Scott Knocksin, to inform him of the rust issue. He was surprised, stating that the car was checked out/inspected twice. He suggested that perhaps it was just surface rust. I assured him that it wasn’t and that I would send a copy of the video showing the advanced degree of the rust. That information has been sent and still no response from Scott or anyone at the dealership. I blame myself for not having the car checked out by a local mechanic prior to purchase. I trusted the dealership general manager, which was my mistake. Don't get cheated like I did. Before purchasing car from this dealership be sure to have it checked out by an impartial mechanic.
