Spent 5+ hours with bad customer service

onWe were turning in a lease to buy a new car. We contacted RO Ford before going in and provided a bunch of info. Go into the dealership and have to start from square one. My husband arrived at 10:30am and we didn’t leave until 3:45pm. I was working and couldn’t be there all day, I said I could swing by and sign the papers at the end. I get there and have to wait 50 minutes for the process. It’s 2023 - I’ve gotten jobs fully online, bought a house by signing online and yet I couldn’t sign these papers online. They wouldn’t even scan them, have me sign and scan them back. The sales guy left my husband sitting with no direction or how long things would take repeatedly all day. When we voiced these frustrations nothing changed or went quicker. My husband spent 75% of a work day waiting around. What an antiquated process and obviously they don’t value customers time - even though we’re spending thousands upon thousands of dollars with their company.

Wasted my time!

onI’ve never had to work harder to purchase a car than I did at Royal Oak Ford. I did the research, I knew exactly which make/model, I walked in prepared to pay cash or finance whichever was more lucrative for them, and I still couldn’t get a deal done. 4 hours wasted and because my Wife couldn’t come to sign the paperwork that day, I was told that the vehicle could be sold to someone else. We have 3 kids, we both work, I had to take a day just to go up and sit for 4 hours of process. Apparently, you can usually e-sign all documents but the odometer form… but not at Royal Oak Ford. In the year 2022, be prepared to have all parties present to be able to purchase with a wet signature. Somehow, I can get a mortgage entirely online but must ink at this dealership. The franchise dealership model is utterly broken, and I look forward to a time when their lobby (NADA) stops protecting franchise dealers, most of which are bankrupt of basic customer service skills and modern processes. I should also add that I was looking to buy an $85k vehicle and could barely get a “how do you do”. I understand the market is hot, but where is the service? How am I to perceive the Ford Motor Co. brand from this interaction? Take a number, get in line, and maybe we will sell you a car? The best I could get from the Sales Manager was “we don’t hold cars”. Well, I’m sure that level of service works alright in this market, but I wonder what things will look like if/when supply returns to normal. Maybe I’m a bit old fashioned but I expected some small bit of courtesy, especially when making such a large purchase. Unfortunately, this doesn’t happen at Royal Oak Ford and maybe just not from Ford Motor Company in general anymore…

Unhappy Mustang Owner

onAs usual when I took my Mustang into Royal Oak Ford for warranty service I walked away as an unhappy service customer. I took my Mustang in for three issues, a bulge in the sidewall of the left rear tire, the puddle light on the right mirror had a broken lens and the tire pressure monitor did not work on the right rear tire. The only issue that was repaired with out an argument was the tire and that was because I purchased the extra tire warranty. The other two issues resulted with a couple of arguments. I gave a one star rating because I got the Mustang back and the issues eventually got repaired. I would not recommend Royal Oak Ford Service to anyone.

onAbsolutely fabulous. The folks at Royal Oak Ford never fail to impress. All aspects of the operation are first rate. My wife and I have purchased from Royal Oak Ford for almost two decades and have never been disappointed. The service department is top notch. You know how you sometimes might think to go with another local mechanic to save a few bucks? Don't do it. I love my Ford vehicles and want them to run forever. The service department here does it right. I get a warm fuzzy feeling knowing that, whatever the issue, they'll put the car back to showroom new. Wow!

Parking Issue

onThe receptionist was nice and helpful. The car was finished in the time period promised and the staff was helpful with me paying over the phone. But my 2017 Mustang was parked with the plastic under the front bumper scraped over the parking stop. Also my front right tire was pressed to the corner of the parking stop. The tire was compressed all the way to the rim. I was very surprised that my tire wasn't flat from tire/rim damage. Most likely many bands inside my tire were broken due to this. I have pictures if further explanation is needed.

onThe used salesman Mike M. just attempted to charge my husband $3000.00 extra, by adding 12 months of payments onto a deal. Now the police are coming, I called the wrong manager Mike M. to complain, manager Mike M. has called me 6 times threatening to sue me, if I put his name in the review. Once we realized they added the additional 12 months onto the price, he had to get his trade in back. The correct manager Mike P. has offered to make the original deal, minus the 3 grand. Manager Mike P. called back again, after I asked him not to, to offer the deal, take names off the review, or be sued. I picked being sued. Mike M. said he will ruin me..
