Don't buy a Hyundai from Ontario Hyundai

Purchased 2021 vehicle July 7th, 2 weeks later notice chips of paint on the ground and around the windshield area. Checked the vehicle carefully found previous damage to bottom driver side door which looks like someone tried to repair it, paint coming off bumper, hood, door, dent in the roof. Made an appointment to bring vehicle in, couldn't get in until August 3rd. They have sent the vehicle in 3 times to Caliber Collision and have not gotten it fixed came back again from Caliber Collision on Aug 25 with new damage or further erosion of the vehicle so it will need to be sent back 4th time. It is sitting on their lot still and Service Manager Dan Feldman's answer to what is going on with it is "I don't know " GM Sam Labib has never returned my calls or emails. Sales Manager Dominic Montes offered to take the vehicle back then said he couldn't then offered and agreed to make my payments until this is resolved and recently called me and said he couldn't. Told my to go file a case with Hyundai. Hope i can add pictures they tell the whole story

IF YOU DON’T WANT TO WASTE 5 HOURS OF YOUR DAY – DO NOT GO TO THIS DEALER – that’s HUYNDAI ONTARIO to be clear, so you don’t think I’m posting the review for a different dealership. They have FALSE advertising AND DECEPTIVE practices. I failed to read the reviews of this dealership, prior to going, but it’s as many have said. If they could be rated lower than 1, I would rate them lower They advertised a car for $12336. When I called on the phone to inquire about the car, Sabrina answered, I asked if the $12336 was the absolute lowest price they can offer, and the she told me, “That’s what I can offer you on the phone, but if you come in, you can work on a better price with the sales people,” to which she told me they have a few available appointments to come in (due to Covid). My wife and I drove over 1 hour to get there. After test driving etc, the sales person gets a piece of paper and writes down and tells me the "retail price" is $13,995. I’m like, “That’s irrelevant, because you have an advertised price on your website of $12,336.” He said he just has to do it that way, and then proceeded to tell me this optional protection package which costs an additional $2,585. I told him I’m not interested in any protection package, but again he said he just has to put it down on paper, and then proceeded to calculate the taxes, license, registration etc. I asked him why he’s wasting our time starting with the $13995 price and adding the $2585 which also increases the sales taxes when the advertised price online price was $12336, and that I was not interested in any additional options - I told him to get the manager. The manager, ALFONSO came out and tells me that the $12336 online price is ONLY IF I add on the $2585 package. I’m like WHAT?? IT DOESN’T SAY THAT ANYWHERE and I wasted my entire afternoon driving here and test driving and sitting here negotiating a falsely advertised price!! If I knew about these mandatory adders I wouldn’t even be sitting here! He reluctantly agreed to take the $2585 off but told me there’s a mandatory $995 alarm system (that other reviews have mentioned as well) that I MUST purchase. I told Alfonso the price online should say $13,331 then, not 12,336!! Again I told him I did not want that alarm, and he told me he would give me the alarm for their cost of $597. I said I don’t even want it even if it’s $1! And his sales tactics are deceptive and false! The manager Alfonso finally said he would take it off and they would sell me the car for $12,336. I told him “NO, the person I spoke to on the phone, Sabrina, said I can get a lower price if I came in and talked to the sales people!” He said Sabrina was incorrect and he was sorry about that, and has been reprimanded. I told him that’s not good enough and it’s unacceptable. He would not budge. I told him I was going to leave a review online based on my experience and their deceptive sales practices and he actually said he did not care, and what is one bad review amongst many. But as you can see, many people have experienced the same thing. THESE GUYS ARE [non-permissible content removed], STAY AWAY, YOU WILL THANK ME, my wife and I wasted 5 hours in total from the time we left our house to the time we got home. I spent the time to write this so you would not get suckered by this crooked dealer.

I agree with the last review "scam alert"

I did my research for two weekends before emailing a few dealerships about some appealing cars I wanted to consider for my new one. Brian W from Ontario Hyundai replied with a great offer on a new Elantra, so I went last Sunday with the goal of buying one. Like the prior customer, and past reviews, I experienced a scam, and it never feels good to be deceived. The price I was quoted for the new car, including rebates, was then jacked-up with three 'options' which were not optional at all--they were already installed and could not be removed. I should have spotted it when Brian took me to the car and pointed out those three features, which were not the things I really wanted to see: seats covered in scotch guard and plastic trim around the doors. Big deal. Security alarm was the third, but usually that's included in new cars so I assumed it was part of the original quote. The three non-negotiable extra features added another $2400 to the price. Brian didn't mention the change in price when he ran my credit and started writing the sale, but then the sales manager Dennis come over to show me the additional costs. I was annoyed to say the least. His defense was that a lot of other dealerships do the same thing. Seriously, it's nothing to boast about. There's a reason salesman have the rep of being dishonest. Brian W and Dennis were polite, I will say that. They said 'no pressure' and I was free to walk out (after spending hours there), but it's like being misquoted on a restaurant dinner price when everyone is seated at the table ready to eat. You can leave, but then you have to start all over. Dennis and Brian did cut prices on the three added features (that I didn't want) but it still put the price of the car above the quote I originally got. Then when the papers are signed, the finance guy, also Brian, tried to sell more 'protections' in the form of three different kinds of service warranties, on top of the Hyundai warranty which is good. I have no complaints about how these gentlemen treated me as a customer in terms of being polite and friendly. The problem is the lack of full disclosure and transparency upfront; in fact, the lure to get me to the store was false. I did buy the car, and I hope it turns out to be a good one in the long run. But looking at the Edmunds recommended price a day later, I see that I overpaid, when I had gone there excited for a great deal. I was unsettled when I left the dealership. It would have been much better if the first contact was an honest offer. My rating is 3 stars because the staff I met were all friendly people, but not 5 stars because they played the dirty tricks of auto sales. No one likes that.

Scam Alert - Bait and Switch

Scam Alert! These people give car salesmen a worse name than they already have. I end up taking my 9 month pregnant wife 35 miles away based on what this Cody person said. Cody, Julian, the manager and everyone we interacted with were the usual sneaky sleepy car salesmen. Even though we were assured through Text that we wouldn't get any bait n switch going on that's exactly what we got. Stay away at all costs- very disrespectful, very disappointing, and just plain sneaky and canniving

Awesome!

Chris and Pierce both helped me and were straight shooters with me. There was no up selling and they made me feel welcome. The environment of the dealership is so much different than most dealerships. The sales manager, Rocky was so easy going and again, no pressure. They were complete open about the $$$ and I would send everyone to Ontario Hyundai.

Great all around service from management to mechanics!

number one reason I keep going back to Hyundai is because of the staff. It feels so good to go somewhere and don't have to have your guards up because you think they are trying to get over on you. At Romero Hyundai Ontario I actually look to the team for their input because I know they have the best interest of me and my family in mind. Thank you Sam, Marina, Fernando and Spencer!

Hyundai Dealer Review

We had optional for premier paint and low jack when we purchased the vehicle. We informed in few days we do not need but the message was not forwarded to the finance department. On finding that we are being charged it was informed that they were not informed and they cannot help. We were forced to pay for services which were not needed and the dealer did not help much in the matter as they refused to take responsibility that there employee did not pass the message

Playing games with my time

I went in to look at a new car. The salesman was very nice and answered all my questions. When it came to game time it seemed we had everything moving along. I had to leave and come back on the weekend to finalize things but I could never get a price out of them. When I arrived on my Saturday the salesman wasn't there and I got stuck with someone i had no report with. I told him what I wanted and he said he didn't think he could do that. I wanted fair market value for the car not MSRP. We are talking about a 300-400 dollar lowering of the price. He got the manager and he wasn't willing to work at all either. I told him I was leaving and emailed and called the salesman I was working on to let him know the deal fell through. I didn't get a call back for two days and by that time I had another dealer who wanted to work with me finding me the right car. I bought a Hyundai just not from these guys.

We really didn't know what to expect at the dealership, and we were surprised to discover a level of caring competence that assured us we had made the right choice. I went to look at and test drive the Elantra and Genesis. The Elantra wasn't available but the Genesis was, and it was GREAT! This car has a great price and lots of power. If you want a Hyundai, go to this dealer and ask for Joey. he is down to earth, laid back, knowledgable and cares to hear what you need and want and doesn't push the sale. best experience I've had at dealerships and I've been through plenty! I'll be back when I'm ready next month! :)

I went in a few weeks ago to look at a new Hyundai...I got really great service from Ivan Martinez who was no BS, no pushiness, no pressure, and no hassle. He was relaxed, straight forward, and just gave us the information we were looking for...with a willingness to accommodate our budget. Rare traits in car salesmen! If you want to buy a car, I really recommend asking for him to give yourself an easier and less stressful experience!

Friendly people, good car.

Despite the popularity of the new Hyundai Elantra and the fast rate at which they are currently being sold I was able to acquire a brand new Hyundai Elantra within a week of test driving one. I immediately fell in love with this car and love the way it drives as well as the savings I make due to the increased gas mileage. The sales people I worked with were very friendly and made me feel right at home. Still need to get Zee that Pastrami sandwich. As a first time buyer they made the process easy and non-threatening, and I walked away feeling satisfied that I made a good purchase that was both fair and cheap. I would definitely recommend my friends to this dealership.

I thought i stepped back in time cause i felt i was getting hustled from the first hello i heard, no good people there i was lied 2 numerous of times by diffrent workers in the sales staff and head managers. Waiting 2 long 2 drive a cx7 which had alot of things going on 2 it and they said it ws new abunch of [violative content deleted].
