Smooth car buying process with Alex Yakovlev

My husband and I knew exactly the car and features we wanted and we used the AARP and Consumer Reports car buying tools. When we received the call from Stohlman, I explained to the salesman, Alex Yakovlev, that we were shopping around for the best price. Alex gave us a great price and then spoke to the manager and the price was further reduced $200. The other dealer I called was not even able to match the price Alex offered. Alex was professional, helpful, and very knowledgeable and I would highly recommend him to anyone. In addition, the color we wanted was at their sister dealership, and Alex had the car transferred from there the same day. Also, we were able to move the car buying process along largely through email in an effort to minimize our time at the dealership since we were coming from Maryland. Since it was the end of the month and a weekend, we did have to wait for the financial department, but this couldn't be helped.

I purchased a 2018 Forester from Stohlman Subary and my salesperson was Richard Kuenzler. Simple, straight, and to the point. After discussing pricing online with a few dealers, I came to this dealership because they were the highest rated online and had good customer service reviews. I finished up discussing pricing with Richard once I got here, and was out quickly. That's how car buying should be, and needless to say, I am extremely happy with the purchasing experience. Richard was a great salesman and I wish him much luck in his future endeavors!

total rip off and scam job

I brought my car to this dealership for an emergency repair. I was on my way to hospital and in no condition to haggle with them but I clearly stated twice that the car had just been serviced (at my home dealer), that I just wanted them to fix the one thing wrong, and that I knew everything else was in perfect working order. Instead the fixed the problem but also did an unneeded service, rotated tires change oil, changed bulbs and more -NONE OF WHICH needed to be done. After I was out of hospital and went to pick up the car I spoke with on duty service manager who adjusted the bill but still managed to only reduce it by less than $100 because he kept putting on "misc. charges" This is the single worst experience at any dealership or car repair that I have ever had.

When looking to lease a new vehicle, I visited all the major dealerships in the area and Alex was by far the most knowledgeable, kind, and professional salesman I encountered. We test drove the car and he was able to answer all my questions and point out features not listed in the brochure. He was very patient in answering my questions and friendly as well! In addition to Alex providing excellent service, the Subaru Crosstrek (and Impreza) are simply amazing cars!! The EyeSight features are the best safety features available across brands in our price range and I wish it was required for everyone to have such a safe car. I'm terrified of driving and this car really makes me feel more safe and comfortable. Thanks to Alex for making this huge decision easy (and fun!) for me. It's a huge help to have someone so friendly and knowledgeable walk you through the process of choosing a new vehicle!

I test drove cars with Alex and later wrote up the exact specs I was looking for in a 2018 Subaru Outback. I shared these with Alex as well as with a number of other dealers in the area. Alex was very professional and responsive and ultimately earned my business. I appreciated his respect for my time and after some back and forth over email agreed on all details. By the time I arrived at Stohlman in Vienna to complete the purchase I was in and out with my new Outback in a very short time. Thank you Alex.

Great Sales by Alex Yakovlev

I got an email about 0% APR for 63 months from Subaru, and Stohlman was closest to me. When I and my wife Ksenia came, we luckily got greeted by another Russian speaker Alex Yakovlev who works there as a dealer. He kindly took us around several lots and showed us everything they had, at the same time explaining some new Subaru changes because we already own a 2009 Forester. It is great but we found exactly what we wanted, a white 2018 Outback with all most of the options such as wheel arch moldings, etc. And of course we bought it with help of Alex. The only problem was the financial manager made us wait for 3 hours but that was OK as we really wanted to drive away in such nice car. Alex even gave us a free gift in the form of a cargo net.

Great service. Great People. I feel like I'm taking this from a Papa Johns Ad or something, but honestly... Sales rep: Richard Kuenzler was fantastic. Very knowledgeable, polite and professional. The Finance manager, Anson, was very easy going and to the point. Simply presented the options and let me make my own decisions without pushing me one way or another. The sales manager, Al Shibly, was very helpful, and if I wasn't able to reach one of them, I would get a pretty quick reply. I appreciate a job well done, and this. This is a job well done. I wish them much luck in the future, no matter what they decide to pursue, though in general; Stohlman has been and continues to be a very fine place to purchase a vehicle. I am thoroughly impressed, and would recommend this place to anyone and everyone I know.

I visited Stohlman Subaru a few months ago and spoke to a younger guy named Richard who was very energetic and thorough. I had no intention of buying a car at that time, since I already had a 2010 Outback, and wanted to see what the new ones we're like. I got into a new one, and Richard went over all of the features and explained all the improvements. We went on a testdrive, and I told him I must admit.. they drive great. To which he responded that if I was interested, he could show me their current deals on the cars. I told him I wasn't interested in purchasing just yet, but I appreciate the offer. When we got in I sat down and we began talking about the car, and I mentioned that my brother just got a 2018 and loves it, which is what got me interested. So he asked me once more, and said he did not want to be pushy, but they are currently pushing very hard to meet their sales quota, and are willing to offer some great deals and they just need someone to take them. I laughed and said sure! Lets see what you got! I left with an Outback that day, and am still in love with the car. Richard was went over everything on the testdrive while cracking a joke every now and then which made the whole experience actually enjoyable compared to what you usually expect when buying a car. In terms of finance, the gentleman there was very thorough (Hasham was his name I believe) and explained everything so that I did not have any questions, but I was still out of there fairly quickly. I would definitely purchase another vehicle from ths dealership and recommend it to all my friends and family. The fact that they have the metro right next to it is also very convenient!!

A Great Experience

I recently purchased a Subaru Forester from Stohlman Subaru and had a really good experience. My sales associate was Alex Yakovlev, and I would highly recommend that you consider contacting Alex for your next Subaru purchase. I first contacted the dealership through my employer's "TrueCar" program. Alex responded to my enquiry and was happy to proceed at my speed. He didn't nag me or bug me with daily phone calls, but when I was ready to come in, he made himself available without any fuss. Alex proved to be a straight shooter, very personable, sincere, and importantly, very knowledgeable about the vehicles I was interested in. I came to the dealership twice, and test drove three vehicles, and Alex was very patient, spending a lot of time with me, explaining vehicle features and cost/benefits. My entire interaction with Alex was at my own pace, and he didn't once try to pressure me to make a choice that was wrong for me. I was very impressed. When I met Alex's manager, Al Shibley, I found him to also be very personable, and felt no undue pressure from him either. This "softly softly" approach was perfect for me, and definitely made me come back to this dealership to make a purchase. When it came time to negotiate a price, I showed up ready to buy and in my hand a lower offer from another dealer. Alex took the offer to his manager, and they matched the lower offer without a fuss. The entire "negotiation" took about two minutes. There were no "hidden" fees, no "fine print", no arm-twisting, and no discomfort. In a jiffy, I had a great deal, and everyone was happy. Next, Alex parked my car on his lot for 10 days until I was ready to take delivery. He then came into the dealership nearly 90 minutes BEFORE it opened for business, to release the vehicle to me and do another run through all of the systems. Alex and I spent an hour in the car going over everything and he was as patient with me at this final stage, as he was the very first time he met me. And so, as you can see, I really had a picture-perfect experience here and have nothing but good things to say. You will read one review after another saying good things about Alex, and given my experience, they are all true. I would buy another car from Alex in a heartbeat, and so should you.

Horrendous treatment by service manager

I was verbally abused and humiliated by their service manager Joe Lischman, and told to go elsewhere. This has to be the single worst customer experience Ive ever encountered. There are many Subaru dealerships, highly recommend not wasting your time here.

Very positive car buying experience with Alex Yakovlev

I requested online quotes from several car dealerships and Alex Yakovlev at Stohlman Subaru of Tysons Corner quoted me a guaranteed no-haggle price that no one can beat. I'm a skeptical type of personality, but Alex was very friendly, helpful, and honest! His car lot did not have my color choice and he went above and beyond to find one for me at the other car dealership. He listened to our needs and did his best to fulfill them at the guaranteed price. No bait and switch, no slick sales gimmicks, no pressure, no attempts at manipulative ploys. Alex just simply offered me great and accommodating services. Honesty is the best policy. Alex, you know as well as I do! I gave Alex my highest recommendation, without reservation.

Worst customer service I’ve ever had

Sure, buy a car here but don’t get it serviced here. Service VP Joe Lischman is an incredibly rude and hostile individual, did not try in the slightest to understand my problem and under his dismal management his team discriminated against me and wasted my time. This is enough to put me off Subaru. Cathy Stohlman - I would be gravely concerned on the poor management of this team under Joe. Absolutely disgusting behavior and I will be following up with Subaru head office, VADA. Shame on you!

I would like to acknowledge our recent experience at Tyson's Stohlman Subaru. We worked with Jim H. and he was extremely easy going and not pushy. He took time with us and helped to make the buying experience positive. While we wanted to pay a little less for the vehicle, the financial process was transparent and allowed for us to make an informed decision. My wife and I had an excellent experience buying our Subaru Outback from salesman Alex Yakovlev at Stohman Subaru of Tysons. Selection: they have a much better inventory of cars than the other dealerships that we contacted. Honesty: Alex was very sincere throughout our visit and there was never any bait-and-switch, fine print, or hidden fees on our purchase. Service: Alex made us feel important, and not just another sale, while being very knowledgeable about all aspects of the Outback we purchased. Price: Stohlman's price was so competitive that we felt no need to continue shopping anywhere else. Our experience with Sales Consultant Alex was very pleasant. Alex Yakovlev took his time explaining the Forester, took us for a test drive, understood our needs and was able to successfully get us just what we needed at a price that was most acceptable. With much trepidations about going to any dealership for purchasing a new car, we went to Stohlman Subaru. Out sales representative was Alex Yakolev(and his charming manager Alaa Shibly). Despite Alex's youthful looks he is eminently mature and patient. He made us feel comfortable by being totally candid and focused, gaining our trust. Most pleasant car buying experience ever

My experience at Stohlman was absolutely wonderful. Eli was the sales representative I dealt with and he was just amazing. He knew his stuff and was quite the comedian. He helped me find the perfect car, a white Impreza wagon and made the entire process seem effortless. He has since kept in contact and really made it clear that customer service is his top priority for the entire life of the car. If I ever need to buy another vehicle I hope to be able to deal with Eli again.
