Excellent

by erinfaith on 04/04/2018

This was the first time we bought from a dealer in years. Dave worked hard to get us what we needed and keep us in our budget while being patient. The staff was very friendly and accommodating of our 4 kids, and they fixed everything in their power on our used van, which we now love!

Nobody waited on me.

by skreamz on 03/15/2018

I drove from New Castle to Wexford on 3/10/18 to Baierl Honda to look at 2015 Accord LX they had for sale. I was outside for at least 20 minutes looking at this car and nobody came outside and waited on me. Terrible way to conduct business I'll never go back.

Wonderful place to buy car

by Jrkvermont on 02/12/2018

I've purchased cats from Bairel over the years. I moved to the other side of town so decided to use another Honda dealership but was never satisfied. Now I drive 40 mins to go to Bairel. I'm treated with respect and I do not feel like they are playing "sales pitch games".

Great service!

by KMills33 on 01/31/2018

This is my third time buying a vehicle from Baierl Honda and salesman, Ken, and every buying experience has been hassle free and quick. There always seems to be a good variety of the particular vehicle you want and you dont have to go through the hassle of them getting the vehicle you want from another dealership. I would definitely recommend and purchase again from Baierl Honda.

George was the best. Never had a smoother experience purchasing a vehicle. Found me what I wanted quickly, was very nice, and was great to work with. Will never buy a car anywhere else.

Be prepared to walk away...

by jonchris8 on 09/13/2016

Below is a story of my encounter with this dealership. Here is the summary: The management at Baierl is unprofessional and will try to take advantage of you. The manager was condescending and unwilling to honor their own advertisements. Because of how we were treated, we walked away and bought our car at Rohrich, where everyone was professional and welcoming. If you're looking for a new Honda in Pittsburgh, drive right past Baierl on your way to Rohrich. I was looking to buy a new CR-V and had shopped around in the Pittsburgh area for the best price. Baierl had initially given me an offer $400 higher than Rohrich, so I asked them to match as they were in a more convenient location. The sales associate told me over the phone that "of course we will match it, I'm not gonna lose a sale for $400." Everything was in place, they had even acquired the exact color I wanted in a matter of days. All that had to be done was appraisal of my trade-in. This is where it all fell apart. We watched the appraiser examine my car (a great condition 2009 Civic with low miles) for a matter of 45 seconds at most -- she didn't even start the car. We waited for the offer sheet and much to our surprise low-balled us quite a bit (more than $2,000 below the lowest KBB trade-in value). We said we expected at least the KBB value, as they have a sign in their dealership that reads, "Let us put you in something new! We'll take any trade at much better than Blue Book value...." The sales associate went back to get his manager (I'll refer to her as Felicia), who happened to be the appraiser, and whose last name happened to be the same as the one on the dealership. She greeted us by asking, "What's up?" and when I explained the situation she offered to show us her appraisal via Vauto. She initially offered $5,000, and went up to $6,000, but said she planned to retail for $10,600, which is a mark up of more than 100% over her initial offer. (This is NOT standard in the used car business.) I showed Felicia the sign in her dealership, and she said, "it's just a guide, our profit margin is $2,500, and that's what we'll give you for the trade," ignoring the fact that none of those numbers added up. She explained to us in a most condescending tone that we were already getting a good deal on the new car "for only $100 more than I could buy it, and I'm [Felicia] Baierl." I went outside to call Rohrich, they said they would give me a deal at least as good, and we decided that after the way we'd been treated by Felicia that we'd rather take our business to Rohrich even if it didn't save us any money. In the end, Rohrich beat Baierl by $400, which is amusing because Baierl said they 'weren't going to lose a sale for $400' just a few days ago. Before we left Baierl we told them that we had a better deal lined up at another dealership, and Felicia made no effort to keep us there (she didn't speak to us again), even after we explained we would be in the market for a couple new cars in the near future. As it turns out, a decent portion of the sales team at Baierl left for Rohrich just a few months ago. I can see why -- Baierl's management is the worst I've ever dealt with in a customer-service-driven industry. We genuinely felt bad for our sales associate; we were able to walk away. Bye, Felicia!

Worst dealer in western pa!!!

by Jbsmith11 on 10/22/2015

This is the worst dealership in western pa. They were yelling at me for asking questions, YELLING at me in front of other guests. My child was fussing (being fidgety but not crying) and cp horn the sales manager told me to go outside and come back when he was going to behave. John Thomas said to put my kid on a leash. I wanted an SUV that would require a dealer trade and they told me it wasn't worth it and told me to get a used car instead. They are the worst people I have ever dealt with in my life and I was only there 15 minutes. They do not have any respect for women at all. I have never been so offended and insulted in my life. I have good credit and they wanted to give me an astronomical percentage rate because I am a woman. Every positive rating on their website is FAKE. Spend 5 minutes there and you will leave infuriated. I made the mistake of giving them by address and they somehow found my cell phone number and having been calling me harassing me none stop yet they didn't want to help me when I was there. I HATE BAIERL!

Worst Sales Experience - Don't Waste Your Time!

by no_bull1 on 04/17/2015

If I could give it a no star, I would. I contacted the dealer though the Internet and agreed on a Costco/USAA price. After that, I arranged a visit to Baierl Honda for a test drive. Upon arriving, another sales agent (Ken Dash) intercepted us at the counter and tried to sell us the car himself, bypassing the Internet sales people. When I questioned and challenged the selling price, K Dash got upset. He refused to let us test drive the car and refused to honor the verbal price he promised. He further told us that he didn't want our sale and to go to another dealership. Not wanting to waste our time, We left the dealership. I call the General Manager (Jeff) immediately after leaving the dealership. Jeff apologized profusely, but I don't think he will do anything to correct the Ken Dash's bad behavior. Ken Dash was rude, arrogant, acted with poor manners. I truly feel sorry for the people that have to deal with him, but again, maybe they are all like him. My experience at Baierl Honda today reminded me of everything bad about car dealers of yesteryear. In the era of internet, I thought they were all extinct. Apparently they are still around to pray on unsuspecting shoppers. My advice to you: RUNAWAY as fast as you can from Baierl. There are other good Honda dealers in the area who will treat the right way.

Pleasant experience

by BLEQA on 02/22/2015

I was on the look for a Honda Minivan and searched in and around Pittsburgh. I finally opted for Baierl Honda because it had a descent choice, competitive prices, and obviously because of the closeness. So overall, I recommend this dealer. I dealt with Art Morgan, whom I also want to recommend because of his knowledge and ability to listen to the client's needs and preferences. If I'm buying a car in the future, Art Morgan will be my first stop. Finally, my advice to anyone buying a car (or any substantial purchase) to be careful with details during the final stages before signing the sales agreement.

Purchase 2014 CRV

by Bnejez on 04/06/2014

We used the dealer because they were part of the Costco auto purchase program . Price was quickly negotiated. They had a good selection of cars and we were treated with respect. Only negative was the hard sell for extended warranties. Hard to convince them the answer was no!

Very bad experience and rude stuffs

by bbdou on 03/22/2014

Very bad experience! Very rude sales staff and sale manager! Highly not recommended! I contacted the dealership for a quote on one of their 2014 Honda Pilot AWD XLE model. They sent me a quote and today (3/22/2014) I went to there for a test drive and see whether could get a deal. I went to this dealership this afternoon with my wife. When we got there and entered the showroom, no one comes to talk to us. We walked around and looked the cars we are interested (the Pilot and the Odyssey). After about 20 minutes, finally there was one agent talked to us and asked whether we need any help. I told him that I had contacted one agent (name Arthur M) and want to test drive the Pilot and Odyssey we are interested. The internet sales manager Lindsay B (she is actually the only one nice person we talked to today) then lead us to M who was at the used car sale building. We waited about more than 10 minutes and finally he spoke to us. The conversation was about 20 minutes. He did not introduce the car to us but kept asking us for the money we want to pay. He told us he was very busy (three customers in line) so he would like to ask how much we would like to pay the car. We told him a number and he said he will work on it and then he asked us to go outside to look the car with the color we like (it is cold and windy outside). After another 40, 50 minutes waiting, he introduced us to the sales manager Jeff N and told us they can not sell us the price we would like. I could understand that but the really bad thing is that they refused us to test drive the car. We told them we could not work on the final price before we test the car but they were rude and I and my wife just walked away. Mr M followed us out and I told him he really wasted us a lot of time since he told us no matter what, we would be able to test drive the car. He was rude to me and said that I wasted his time as well. He only spend about 20 minutes with us but we waited him more than 1 hour. This is the first time that a dealer refusing us to test drive a car! I am really disappointed with their customer service and definitely will not recommend the dealer to anyone else!!!

Good deal, tough to get the facts

by nejnna on 02/27/2014

We purchased a used car from Baierl Honda within the last month. They were reluctant to negotiate via email but relented in the end. Problematic in my experience was the attempt to hide fees from me. At one point, we agreed on a price but then the salesman wanted to talk on the phone to discuss the extra fees. I explained to him that I didn't want to get there on Saturday and find a surprise $500 doc fee. He said that Baierl didn't charge a doc fee on used cars. (This was a lie. But as I don't have his claim in writing, I can't prove that ever said it. Very smart of him.) He wanted a range that I'd be happy to pay. I said $xx,xxx-xx,yyy. He then told me the fees based on that number. The actual price he was figuring the fees was $50 higher than my upper range. I almost was tricked into agreeing to a higher price than I originally wanted. He refused to talk further until I came in on Saturday. A short time later, I had another email from him saying that he would agree on an even lower price. That was fine by me. We agreed on that price and I asked (again) to have the extra fees itemized for me in writing. The salesman ducked, dodged, and absolutely refused to itemize the fees that would be added onto the sales price. When we got there Saturday, the fees still were not itemized. They were called "tax + plates" but tax and plate fees (standardized fees set by Pennsylvania) did not add up to the final number. Aside from absolutely refusing to put the fees in writing, my experience was a good one. We were in and out as quickly as it was possible to do on a Saturday. The fees weren't crazy (aside from there unsurprisingly being a doc fee) and I'm not sure why they won't just publicize them. We paid: - 6% PA sales tax (obviously will be different if you live in Allegheny County, city of Philadelphia, or elsewhere) - $22.50 title (standard PA fee) - $6.00 plate transfer (standard PA fee) - $133.00 doc fee (I paid $100 because he took the extra $33 off the sales price) - $14.50 notary fee - $14.55 online registration fee (We didn't have any financing so there were no additional fees for that for us.) We would go back to Baierl again for sure but we'd do it knowing that trying to get them to talk via email was hard and that their fees are fair despite them not wanting to put them into writing ahead of time.

Lazy old school salesman

by leonard125 on 10/16/2013

Didn't buy a car, will not buy a car. Salesman would not help at all. We just wanted to sit in and look at a few cars, no driving or buying yet. Salesman just leaned against a car drilling us about how much we wanted to spend or what our "budget" was. Then when told why we do not have a budget yet and we just guessed at a number, he told us our thinking was all wrong, and he could never get us in a car for our number. Pushy, demeaning, would not really let us talk, no help at all. No information at all about the cars. All he wanted to know is how much money we have so he knows which car to shove us into. Guess what, that type of selling doesn't work anymore!!! Now we have a bad taste about Honda cars.

Terrible treatment from Sales staff

by irideaharley on 10/05/2011

I talked to their salesmen over the phone and was assured that if my trade was in as good condition as i told them, then they could give me the price I wanted. After driving over an hour to get there, suddenly the deal was taken off the table even though they admitted that my trade was mint. The salesman I dealt with was rude and even sent me countless e-mails that were less than flattering. Definately wasn't a professional. I had sent him an e-mail stating my displeasure with their treatment and that is when the e-mailing back and forth started. I would not reccomend this dealership to anyone who wants a fair price while being treated well. They fail miserably at those two traits.
