Pleasently Surprized

by bobbybear on 05/29/2017

Yesterday my wife and I purchased a new car from Royal Moore Subaru . This is the first new car we have ever purchased. I'm 68 years old and was expecting stress. I was expecting pushy salesman, sneaky financing, you know all the horror stories of buying a new car from a dealer. I was wrong! Buying a car thru Royal Moore was a stress free pleasant experience. Our sales person was Derek Whitmore, He was knowageable,.friendly and helpful. He knew everything about our car and explained all the new high tech stuff that comes with a new vehicle. We are High Tech challenged so that was kind of tough for him, but he took his time and explained the information so even I could understand it. Don Lilly, who was responsible for figuring out the financing, was a total professional in every way. He worked with us until we had a plan that would work for our financial situation and did it with style and a smile. And last but not least, Patty. Patty is responsible for all the legal paperwork for the car, and again nothing but professional friendly service. Thanks to Derek, Don and Patty for making our car buying experience as pleasurable as possible. So I guess that's it. That's my story. Bob .

Excellent experience purchasing a 2017 Impreza

by TylerJames on 04/16/2017

Brandon went through extra effort to help me get the exact car I wanted at a really competitive price. We drove almost 4 hours to purchase from him instead of a closer dealer, because we were confident that we would be taken care of at Royal Moore.

Best car buying experience ever!!!!!!!!!

by Happy4me on 04/03/2017

Recently bought a new Subaru Forester from Tim Parkyn at Royal Moore Subaru. He made the process so easy, and all the people there were amazing! I also had help from Daniel Chumley and Dan Beaupain. I can't say enough about this dealership and all the people there, even the paperwork was quick and enjoyable. Royal Moore has a lifetime customer here. If the service department is anything like the sales department, I am looking forward to it. I would recommend Royal Moore to all my family and friends.

Loooking for a used Forester. But! Guess what!

by peopleperson on 02/27/2017

To be honest, my Wife and I never look forward to dealing with Car Sale Persons! Wife and I were looking for a used Forester (both of us are retired), with reasonable low mileage and at a particular price for a specific year range. Dan Beaupain showed us what they had, answered our questions as to the used model(s), and as we test drove one answered our questions as well as pointed out some of the features of the vehicle. All through this my Wife and I didn't feel pressured by Dan into deterring us to look at other models at higher prices, as he was showing us what we wanted to see for the price we had in mind, period! When we sat down to talk about the price and other particulars, then Yes, the old need to talk to my manager about this! Okay, here we go, same old same old, right? Wrong! Daniel Chumbley (Sales Mgr) came over, introduced himself and showed us two info sheets. One with the lowest price they could offer for the Used, and another for the lowest price they could offer on a new 2017 model with no hidden fees after the fact, $ amount shown is what it was! Again, No pressure from Daniel , answered some questions we had about the new vehicle and after my Wife and I taking that night to talk about the offer(s). Well, we either take a Used 2015 Forester, As-Is.., 35,000 miles, and other used qualities, Or take door 2 with new 2017 Forester with new car smell for just a little more $$ but really not that much more then what we would have paid for the Used! All in All, Wife and I felt no pressure during the transactions from either Dan or Daniel, and even Karen Wood the Lady that does the paper work who is "bullet proof" didn't try and pressure us to purchase extra add-on-services\warranties that we didn't want, although she is required to ask, but if you say No, then that is as far as it goes! I'm giving these folks this awesome review cause of the No pressure attitude, Take your time to make a decision on offer, Questions answered in a prompt and if question not known Dan would say so and try and find out, and the most important one is the People Skills these folks showed, which I have not seen in past car sales persons we have dealt with! If you who are reading this don't know what people skills are, then obviously you don't have any and I would hate to work for you, or work with you!

Frustrating 1st Car Experience

by CordovaAK on 05/25/2016

Upon arriving at Royal Moore to pay for and pick up a vehicle I had previously made a $500 deposit on, my salesman met me as he was finishing a cigarette. He led me to my car and to my dismay, proceeded to casually sit in the passenger’s seat and show me how to connect my phone to the audio system. Distracted, I was stunned and frustrated that the guy who had just finished a cigarette was now sitting in my $24,000+ brand new car. This was my first brand new vehicle and I wanted to do everything I could to keep that “fresh and clean” smell long as possible. All I could think about was how I was going to get the “cigarette smell” out of my car. I politely let him finish his explanation and quickly exited the vehicle. Hoping to test-drive my new car, I was informed that the salesman (the same one who had been smoking) needed to at least just “sit” in the backseat. Irritated at the thought of inviting more cigarette smell into my car, I skipped the driving test. As the sale progressed, the same salesman wanted to return to the car and explain some more of the features. Normally, I would have welcomed the clarifications, but the last thing I wanted was more cigarette smoke lingering in my car. I politely declined his offer, figuring I could do my best to learn it all from the manual. I understand that smoking is an employee’s personal choice, but I feel it is very unprofessional and incredibly insensitive to have a smoking employee assist a non-smoking customer in their brand new car. Why should the paying customer have to endure and be left to clean out the pungent cigarette smell of a smoking employee? Overall, for customer service incidents such as this, I was disappointed in my experience with Royal Moore and will not return in the future or recommend this dealership to friends or co-workers. Customer service is an integral part of building loyalty for any company and I believe employees’ actions, especially salesmen, directly reflect the values of their business—both good and bad. If my car were available at another dealer in the area, I would have taken back my deposit and left. ***The general manager of Royal Moore has since graciously reached out and apologized for my negative experience. Hopefully, positive changes will be made to benefit future potential buyers. ***Also, do your homework on the “Lifetime Powertrain Warranty.” I had a very difficult time finding positive reviews from customers of other dealerships who have dealt with “Fidelity Warranty Services,” who handles the warranty claims. ***On a positive note, would like to give shout-outs to the 2 outstanding employees who were the highlights of my otherwise poor experience at Royal Moore. DAN BEAUPAIN and MANNY NETTLES were not my main salesmen, but thoroughly answered questions and treated me very respectfully during my 5 visits. I cannot say enough good things about them and only wish I could have worked exclusively with them from the beginning. If you choose to visit this dealership, ask for them.

Buying a Car at Royal Moore Subaru a Pleasant Experience

by Randy2016 on 04/29/2016

In the past 6 months we have bought two new cars from Royal Moore Subaru. In each case we had the fortunate opportunity to work with Tim Parkyn and Daniel Chumbley. In my 50 years of buying various cars, these two salesmen proved the most accommodating, ethical, and honest. Randy

Great experience buying a BRZ

by headtrauma on 04/04/2015

Had a great experience buying a BRZ from Brandon at Royal Moore Subaru. My internet price quote was very competitive, test drive was great, and Brandon was super helpful with my first new car buying experience. Detail shop also did a great job prepping the car, and the web photos showed extra effort put in instead of just phone snaps of the car on the lot. Worth the drive down from Redmond (and the drive back up 101 was a great scenic route if you have the time).

Excellent car buying experience

by Rebel_Gearhead on 11/11/2014

This was my 3rd new vehicle purchase from Royal Moore over the last 20 years. Each has gotten better, with this latest being by far the best. What made it so? First, GregB was prompt in answering all my questions via email and of course gave me a fair price quote. Though they didn't have in stock the exact configuration I wanted, instead of pushing one of their in stock vehicles, he immediately just said to order it so I get precisely what I want. The ordering process was painless. Of course, this only worked because I could take the time to wait. Second, when the delivery day arrived (earlier than projected!), Greg was prompt and on time to begin the paperwork. He made the usual offer of additional products which I reviewed and politely declined. Instead of getting the hard sell, he just moved on. Perfect! Same thing with the business manager Karen with whom I signed my life away. The products I was interested in were presented and once I made my choice, that was it. Now how cool is that?! Third, Greg took me for a test drive and when we returned, went through ALL the major features of the vehicle (there were MANY with this Outback!). This last part did not happen with my first 2 purchases and was a pleasant surprise. I drove home in my new car and when I sat down, realized just how painless a process it was, which is exactly the way it should be. As I said, this was by far the best car buying experience I've had in 20 years. Perhaps some of that was because I did my research and knew exactly what I wanted and was not emotional about the purchase. I can't thank Greg & Karen enough though for making a great buying experience.

Hassle free. Simply professional.

by nikita81 on 10/03/2014

I came in for a Subaru Impreza with an Outback in mind for a second car. Will wait for newer Imprezas to arrive, yet came out with an all-new Outback. All done in 2 days. All pre-work completed through e-mail. Problems solved without my involvement. And Greg is simply the best salesperson: he listens to you and never presses with his own judgement or extras. The price is the best available and the paperwork is smooth. The office has an open space that makes you feel comfort: you are not locked one-on-one with a sales-guy who drains the money out of you, but rather you come to the place where people do their work together. I also noticed a private corner with a TV and some toys for the kids. All in all: thank you very much!

Worst Customer Service

by mnholcomb on 09/23/2014

I've had the worst experience with purchasing my car from Royal Moore. To start, the first salesman left me for over 40 minutes after having me take a test drive, alone. Multiple salesmen walked past me while I stood outside waiting to let someone know I was interested in purchasing the car. I, then, sought someone out to initiate the conversation that I wanted to make a purchase and hadn't been helped. Once someone was able to help me, it took 12 hours to finalize the sale of the vehicle. I sat around and waited all evening, attempting to stay positive, while other customers were helped who hadn't been in the dealership before me. When I finally signed paperwork, it was after 11pm and I still had an hour's drive home. Because it took so long, I wasn't even provided with all the copies of the keys I purchased with my car. To date, I've yet to receive the additional keys. It's been 23 days since the sale of my car. Since signing my paperwork, it has taken the dealership 23 days and counting, this issue is still not resolved, to finalize the sale of the car and provide me the paperwork to pick up my license plates. I have had to buy 2 additional trip permits, at my cost, in order to drive my car. I am now no longer able to purchase another trip permit and cannot drive my car because this issue cannot be resolved. Every time I call, I'm passed around the finance department and not provided any answers. My voicemails go unreturned. The general manager is little help. The best anyone can provide is a "I'm really sorry." Sorry doesn't allow me to operate my car, instead I'm now relying on others to help make sure I can get to work, run errands, and manage all other day to day tasks that so many people rely on their cars to do. I would give zero stars if it were possible. This has been the worst car buying experience, I didn't know I could experience such poor customer service. From the start, it's been horrible. Do not buy a car here.

Excellent service

by acorbeau_04654 on 03/20/2014

I was in the market for a new Impreza wagon. I had taken one for a test drive in Eugene, but the dealership in town wasn't able get the trim level I wanted. When I called Royal Moore Subaru, the salesman, Jeff A., told me he could have it at the dealership in an hour. I drove up to Hillsboro expecting to sign the papers and head home. Instead I got an incredibly thorough explanation of the car and all its features. Jeff even took me for a "driving lesson" to show me how to maximize the benefits of the paddle shifters and how to increase my gas mileage. I left feeling comfortable and confident that I was going to get the most out of my new car. I can't recommend Jeff highly enough!

great deal, professional salesmanship

by curiouseng on 10/27/2012

I just purchased Subaru Outback 2013 from Royal Moore, and I am very pleased with Internet sales department. First, they offered me an extremely good price by email, it essentially yanked me out of the sales floor from another dealership (that other dealership was not able to match the offer), and they stuck to this: configuration and price remained as offered. I got very good deal, and the whole experience was very professional . Special kudos go to Greg B.

Worst Dealership Franchise I've ever had to Deal With !!!

by begado on 01/02/2009

Worst Dealership I've ever been forced to deal with. And unfortunately, I have been forced to deal with them often, due to numerous problems out of the LEMON which they sold me. I have had to have the car towed to the dealership twice in the last 4 months, once, waiting 4 days for a call from the Service Manager Michael, telling me, that they didn't know what was wrong with my car. I also had to have the LEMON towed in again this week for the same problem. When I picked up my car, I asked Michael to explain my bill to me and tell me what they did. As I had done some research and knew that there was a Mazda Issued TSB for the problem issued in October, I asked him if they performed the recommended procedure. Upon asking him, he looked like a "deer in headlights" and he had no idea what I was talking about. When I asked him why they didn't perform this TSB service he simply became quiet. Incompetent Service Department which is only interested in gouging their customers. They charge $104 "diagnostic" fee, which is hooking up the same code reader which AutoZone does for free (takes about 2 minutes) and overcharge for their parts. When my LEMON which was sold to me by Royal Moore recently needed service, I asked if I could supply the dealership with the parts for the repair because I could order them from Mazda cheaper than they would sell them to me. They responded that they would not fix my car using parts which I supplied and I had to buy parts from them at a 67% mark-up to me. This dealership also sole me a LEMON which was previously owned by one of their sales managers. After purchasing the car, and seeing a clean CARFAX report, I found out that the car was wrecked, repaired at the Royal Moore Body Shop and then put up for sale at their dealership. The damage was not reported and I was told that the car had never had any damage. I only found out later after demanding a complete service record from the dealership, that the car had body work performed at the Royal Moore Body Shop. BEWARE of Royal Moore Dealerships !!! Worst Dealership I've ever dealt with.

Royal Moore in Hillsboro does good w/ Service

by kurtamaxxxguy on 07/12/2008

I found this Subaru Service Center courteous, well trained and generally did good work installing a number of Subaru "add-ons" such as side protectors, cargo nets and hood guards. Pricing was reasonable and the work was efficiently handled. Techs (some of which have been there many years) were well informed and offered helpful comments. The few minor slipups (one part of the hood protector wasn't fitted properly) were promptly fixed with no additional charges or accompanied by discounts on other services. Highly recomended. And if you are in Beaverton, OR. needing Surbau service, go here instead.

Nothing special

by kurtamaxxxguy on 03/23/2008

This dealership is sort of halfway between old and new schools. The sales staff was laid back and helpful when I did the test drives. However, I did get one surprise that a model they said I could drive was, when I got there, actually parked in their showroom and not available to drive (the only Turbo Outback they had). Also, they had marked their vehicles up substantially and the impression I got was there would be the usual bargaining process involved with any purchase. In the end the markups and impending old-world buying experience drove me to other Subaru dealers in the area.

Really Great Guys

by mercedesfan on 07/31/2007

I bought my Subaru Legacy at Carr Subaru and hated the sales staff with a passion. While my car was under warranty I had it serviced at Carr as well and hated the whole dealership so much I swore I would never ever go back. Since I live in Portland I thought I would start taking my car to Wentworth but Royal Moore ended up one of my routes so I decided to stop in. I was thoroughly surprised. The guys out there are really friendly and really seem to care about you and your car. I had a problem with a leaking moonroof and they really worked hard to find the solution, somthing Carr was never capable of. Now everytime I go out there the guys know me personally and really take the time to listen to what I would like examined on my Legacy. From now on I will only visit Royal Moore for all of my Subaru needs. This service staff reminds me of the service staff at Mercedes-Benz of Portland where my parents' service their cars and that is saying a lot.
