Great purchase experience

byRobAndLorraineon 05/13/2018

The staff at Audi of Smithtown was friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. It’s our second purchase at this dealership and we are very pleased. Our salesman, Mustafa Ali, really sealed the deal. He treated us like friends. Showed us everything we asked to see. Took us on numerous test drives. And never ever pressured us. Mustafa made all the difference. We WANTED to buy a car from him. This is what a car purchase should be. Well done Audi of Smithtown.

Terrible Experience

bybrian_k1on 10/03/2015

They are a $2 used car dealership, I custom ordered an RS7 ($120k car) the 1st night it arrived the rims were stolen off my car, they lied to me every step of the way, and tried to sell my car (that I put a deposit on and had a legally binding contract to purchase) out from underneath me and did everything in their power to prevent me from getting my car. I even had my friend videotape a slick salesman trying to sell her my car in the lot (without wheels) and when asked "what happened to the wheels?" he said they took them inside so no one would steal them. Only when I got my attorney involved did they finally give me my car knowing full well they would have been thoroughly embarrassed in court, I ordered it on May 13th, it arrived to the dealership on July 23rd and I finally took ownership of my car on September 5th!!! This dealerships complete lack of competency, transparency, and empathy as well as the compulsive lying are something that I have NEVER experienced in my life. I truly feel bad for anyone that buys a car from them because they [non-permissible content removed], ownership included. I was absolutely disgusted with my experience with them. The only reason I went through with my purchase was because they did not want me to take the car, they knew they were going to lose money because they had to pay for my new rims and tires and fix the undercarriage of the car. They were hoping to sell it to some unsuspecting consumer at full MSRP without them knowing the true story behind it. Hence if I did not go through with my purchase the dealership gets what they want.

great service and nice showroom

Serviced my uncles Q7 here a few times. We get great incentives in the mail from them and their service has been top notch. Very happy with their facility and service members. On my last visit I had time and a sales rep showed me the updates on the new cars that they had (Q5 and the A5) which I had some interest in. Very nice and courteous. Was introduced to a Maurice who was their Sales manager.

Service Audi of Smithtown

I had a simple problem with my new Q5. I blew a fuse in the cigarette lighter. I brought it to the dealership and the salesman tried to find the fuse. Unfortunately he could not find it but made an appointment for the following Monday morning. I returned with my truck and the problem was repaired within 15 minutes.

Untrustworthy

bylabdocon 09/02/2007

My wife's A4 blew its engine with about 60,000 miles. We had serviced it regularly and were initially told by the service representative that it looked like a timing belt problem and that there should be no problem; Audi should cover the repair completely. All we had to do was OK a “tear down” to define the damages to get Audi’s approval. Two days later, the same representative called to say that a defective water pump caused the timing belt to fail and that Audi would not cover it because it was “obviously” leaking. Smithtown Audi would be happy to fix it for $3000+. In any case, we owed $800 for the “tear down”. When I asked if it was obvious that it was the water pump and that Audi would not cover it, why take the engine apart? The water pump is visible by just looking in the engine compartment. I told him I would not have approved a “tear down” if Audi was not going to pay for the repair. He stated that I OK’d it and it was tough. We were left with a car whose engine was in pieces with the choice of paying Smithtown over $3000 or paying $800 and taking it someplace else. We chose the latter. I paid the $800, Smithtown Audi dumped the engine parts in a box, very unprofessional, and we took the car to our local repair shop where they rebuilt the engine for $1800. The repair shop told me if Smithtown did not take the engine apart the way they did, I would have saved $200 to $300. The bottom line, do not trust Smithtown Audi.
