Haven't sent the $50 Referral Fee they said they would

by Shannon_M on 01/18/2017

I bought a Mazda CX5 just before the holidays. I really like the car and my experience with Hamilton Mazda was good but there was one problem. I was referred there by someone and was told that person would get a $50 referral fee. I provided the information requested and made several follow up contacts but the referral fee has been sent. What's disappointing is the lack of responsiveness. It turned a good experience into a Meh experience.

At Hamilton Mazda they listen!

by Mazda_Convert on 07/12/2016

After doing lots of homework to create a viable wish list, I found too many sale folks who tried to sell me a vehicle I did not really want without a good deal and in a high pressure approach. My sales guy, Marlon, helped me find the car I wanted with a terrific deal on both the vehicle an the loan. I would recommend this dealership without reservation. Bravo!

Great service, no pressure!

by Spooley on 04/21/2016

We were very impressed with Mazda's new model of having salaried sales associates as opposed to commissions ones. Jason was super helpful and professional, as well as Allen, the Sales Manager. We felt like they listened to what we wanted and presented us with several options to compare. They were not pushy at all.

Excellent Experience Love my CX9 !!!!!!!!!!!

by dmkurst on 09/11/2015

I want to start off by saying I never write reviews. However I feel compelled to Praise the whole Hamilton Mazda team. I was in need of getting out of a vehicle that was very unreliable (only 2 years old) and was going to purchase a Jeep mostly because of the ridiculous deals they have going now. I have always loved the CX9 and it has always been just out of reach price wise I have looked at it on several visits before buying the death trap as we like to call it in 2013. My husband who was dead set against the Jeep suggested I go talk to Hamilton Mazda 1 more time. So off I go to Hamilton Mazda as soon as I get there I ask for Neal S who had helped me previously. He was off but came in quickly any way to meet with me. We talked I explained that I wanted (the Mazda CX9 Touring on the Showroom Floor Pearl White with Almond Leather interior with AWD) and where I wanted to be payment wise all the time thinking this poor guy is probably loosing this gorgeous day stuck inside with me on a deal I didn’t think was possible. I also want to say the Mazda CX9 was well over $2000 more than the Jeep so I really thought I was wasting my time and Neal’s. He repeatedly told me it was fine and if there was anything he could do he would to make this happen so I could have the Mazda SUV of my Dreams. I have to say I was shocked when he came back with the numbers and they were so close to the other suv I was shocked. I saw right away this was possible and likely going to happen with a little tweaking to the deal running my credit and such. Within 30 mins we were under where I wanted to be and I was set to pick up my CX9 the next day since it was Neal’s day off and I could certainty wait another day. I called 1st this in the morning to add Automatic start which my husband reminded me when I got home that I cannot live without. I went back the next day did the paperwork which was painless and found out the deal got a little better since we already have a Mazda 6 registered in the house within 1 hour I was done with paperwork and synching my phone. I was treated with respect which any woman knows is hard to get at a car dealership. I was never talked down to as I was other places or dismissed and told to come back with my husband. I was not harassed to make the deal right that minute or it was “going to be off the table”. The whole Hamilton Mazda team was great and helpful and courteous. I will recommend them to anyone looking for a vehicle new or used. I feel like I got a great deal and feel when I return for service I will be treated with the same respect I received from the sales team. Again all this from someone who really doesn’t write reviews Hamilton Mazda does deserve to have people know they are AWESOME to work with!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Smooth Process

by Djeverett on 06/05/2015

From the test drive to the signing, my experience was very smooth and hassle-free. The test drive was very personal; I was able to drive and fully experience the vehicle as if it was mine already. A few days later, I came back and the guys were able to solidify and fulfill the quote they initially provided me. I enjoy the vehicle and will refer anyone I know looking to Hamilton Mazda.

worst experience I've ever had in my nine years of leasing new vehicles

by LosDaBoss on 05/17/2015

The sales people at Mazda of Hamilton seemed very polite and helpful. however, the person that my wife and I dealt with personally, Marlon, was probably the worst salesman I've ever dealt with in the past 11 and a half years of me owning and leasing nothing but new vehicles and dealing with 5 different dealers, Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Subaru and Hyundai. I wish looking into trading in a lease early and the amount in payments that I would be making monthly didn't sit well with me after being offered what I feel was an unacceptable amount for my next to new 2013 Honda Accord EX with only 16K on the odometer. the salesman never once tried to help me get a little bit more for my trade, he never entertained negotiating on a deal for the price of the car which would also improve my monthly payment amount, neither did he go over my options with me and explain the different monthly payments I would have depending on different amounts of down payments I could put down. In other words, whereas I have dealt with a handful of different sales people from different dealers who will go above and beyond to make you a satisfied customer, this salesperson did absolutely nothing to keep me at the dealer. Rather, his attitude was "this is what it is and either you take it or you don't". So when I told him I was not happy with what I was being offered he proceeded to shake my hand and send me on my way. I failed to mention that this entire time we did not have his full attention as a customer, in fact, although I made an appointment to see him at 2 p.m. he also had an appointment with another gentleman for the same time who arrived shortly after I did. there were times that I was looking for him to ask questions but he was nowhere to be found because he was helping out the other guy instead of dealing with us! I don't only think that this is bad salesmanship but also bad customer service and it shows a gross lack of respect for me as a buyer. I left the dealer and went to route 33 Subaru in Hamilton where they treated me excellently! I would not necessarily say that I do not recommend the Mazda dealership because there were other salesmen at Mazda who tried to take care of me but instead like an idiot I turned their help down because I specifically made an appointment with Marlon. In retrospect, had I known I would have gotten such horrible service I would have dealt with someone else. So if you're looking for a Mazda I will highly recommend looking elsewhere, however, if you do decide to go to Hamilton Mazda I will highly recommend working with any salesmen beside him. there are others. This site has others who gave excellent reviews but they probably did not deal with Marlon as a salesperson and they probably didn't have the great customer service that I have received from multiple dealers within the last 11 and a half years that I've been owning and leasing new cars to weigh their experience against. I wish I had their salesman to deal with instead.

Good Expereince!

by LFromm on 12/12/2013

Hamilton models good customer, service from top to bottom. Many folks were involved in our transaction, and all made sure that we walked away happy...and then even received calls afterwards. Impressive.

Very honest car buying experience

by sabbasmas on 07/14/2013

I just bought my new 2014 Mazda6 Touring and I love it (white exterior, almond interior). The salesman, Neal S,, the sales Manager, and the contract/Finance Manager, John, were excellent. I found them to be honest, straight forward, and very reasonable. They get to know you on a personal level and don't use the normative sales pitch that others do. This was my 7th car that I have purchased. I typically dread the car-buying experience because I cannot stand the judgemental, skeevy sales people and contract manipulating people that I have unfortunate experiences with in the past at may other dealerships. I have left every other dealership feeling judged, pressured, and manipulated. This time around, I left on great terms with a great car. Not that my opinion matters, but I personally recommend them. They were recommended to me by my buddy and I thought, "hey, what the heck". They are one of the smaller dealer outfits and they seem to strive to promote a family oriented experience. I communicated with Neal via email and phone and the car I wanted was ready to go by rhe time i arrived. It was definitely worth the 30 min drive from north/central NJ as they are right off the turnpike. I wish John and Neal well and hope their good practices continue to lend to their success.

Amazing Car Buying Experience

by carolineg on 01/31/2013

I have not gotten service work done here yet, so no review on that. I recently purchased a new 2012 Mazda 3i Touring. I went to look at a 2010, and was helped so much that I was able to buy the new one at a great price! I worked with Jamie on the sale- she was friendly, informative, patient, and overall a great sales person without being pushy. She offered her suggestions, answered my questions, and then accepted my decisions without taking insult or continuing to push. The sales manager Mitch got involved in the final dealings, and with his friendly attitude and jokes, helped even more to get me into the car I wanted. When in the financial office with the final paperwork with Don, he explained everything fully. I have never felt so confident every step of the way, and the people at this dealership really make a difference! I look forward to dealing with them in the future, and after visiting dozens of other car dealerships throughout NJ, I don't ever want to go anywhere else!

Disappointing test drive

by akekee on 08/21/2010

I came to this dealership looking to test drive the Mazda 3 5 door. The inventory was impressive, but I had a disappointing experience. The salespeople seemed reluctant to help me, and the associate that drove with me did not seem particularly knowledgeable or enthusiastic about the product.

Excellent experience - top choice if shopping based solely on dealership

by rarthur on 06/29/2008

This review is to an extent tied to other reviews I am posting - for the past two weeks I've helped my wife shop for a car, visiting some ten different dealerships and checking out some fourteen different cars. We well recognize that dealerships are in the business of needing to sell their cars, and need to make their various sales pitches. Some, however, employ games and tricks and generally leave a lousy taste in your mouth. Others are quite honest and forthright and helpful. Hamilton Mazda falls into that later category. Note, that this is a very positive review for a dealership from which we ultimately did _not_ buy a car. With that preamble said... If we were buying a car based solely on our experience with the dealership, this would have been our top pick. Our primary salesperson was very knowledgeable about the product and all the services of the dealership. Other salespersons were friendly and team-like - not competitive with each other. If you don't know what I'm talking about, then you haven't had the experience of going into some dealerships where the other sales staff outright shun you since you are aligned with another salesperson. Also, the salesperson gave us an at-length (~15 minute) test-drive on a well-planned mix of roads. He also was very clear with printed out information about the offered price and various cost scenarios with rebate and low-interest rate incentives to help us find the best deal - for instance, though the $2250 rebate versus the 2.9% financing option resulted in the nearly the same monthly cost with our down-payment, he pointed out that we'd have more equity/value to re-coup if we were to trade-in several years down the road by having taken the rebate. He also handles internet sales at the store, and was very well-informed about financing and depreciation, especially of other brands. Plus, they were just plain really pleasant people to talk with and deal with. A lot of salespeople at other dealerships seem to not even hear what you are saying sometimes - you tell them what is important to you, and they just proceed to push whatever it is they are emphasizing - in one ear, out the other. But the Hamilton Mazda staff seemed to very much want to hear what we had to say so that they could best meet our needs. We also liked learning about the service hours and options (loaner cars) available. It helped that we know friends and neighbors who have dealt with the Hamilton Mazda service department and only had very positive things to say. Regarding the actual selling/negotiating experience, there wasn't an undue amount of haggling nor making us wait repeatedly while the salesperson disappeared to crunch numbers. The initial figures we got were right in-line with Edmund's TMV quote we had going in. Yes, as with most dealerships, we got to meet the Sales Manager, but here it was more a polite brief introduction, not some forceful follow-up to the salesperson's efforts to try to close the deal. So why didn't we buy from Hamilton Mazda? Because the car my wife liked the most turned out to not be the Mazda6. We liked a lot of things about the Mazda6, but for my wife's purposes and personal preferences, it was the second choice to another car. While it was notable that it was our second choice after all the cars we'd checked out at dealerships, it was unfortunately for Hamilton Mazda not her top choice. They did all they could in terms of giving us 1) an excellent sense of the car, 2) a fair offer, and 3) a dealership/service dept. we'd feel comfortable being associated for years. It just wasn't the right car for my wife. When it comes time in the next year or two for me to replace my car, though, I fully expect my first stop will be to test the latest Mazda3 from Hamilton Mazda.

2008 Mazda5 Sport -- Great Experience

by dmouton on 12/11/2007

Recently, I needed to buy a second car for my family. We're on a tight budget, living on a single income, and are price sensitive. I contacted about 10 Mazda dealers in north/central NJ in order to get a good price on a basic 2008 Mazda5 Sport. The professionalism, courtesy, and flexibility at Hamilton Mazda made this purchasing process the best buying experience of my life (this is the 6th car that I've bought). Our sales consultant, Scott Dalton, went above and beyond to help us get the best price, which was as good as or better than any other dealership in NJ. Further, he personally delivered the model that we wanted (the one with fewest options possible) from PA to the dealership in Hamilton, NJ. Everyone at the dealership was friendly and helpful, and no extra or hidden fees were added to the cost of the car. The detailing of the car was immaculate and Mr. Dalton gave a detailed explanation of the car and its features. I would not hesitate to buy from them again and happily recommend the dealership to others.
