NOT RECOMMENDED FOR PURCHASING A BMW

by Chuck_E on 04/17/2017

This place is by far the WORST BMW dealership to buy your car from. I would give them ZERO stars if I could. I owned eight BMW`s in my life, still own two and I was looking to get my 3rd one. Here is my experience: I went to Bill Pearce on 04/10/17 for an advertised this 2011 BMW 535 Xdrive. The car was not available for a test drive, but I saw the exterior of the car and Carfax report on it. I agreed on $21,000 price on the first try and I was asked to put a $1,000 refundable (because of not being able to drive it) deposit to reserve the car. I also signed a purchase order with them. Six days later, after the car went through their shop, I was able to test drive the car. During the test drive, I noticed that the front brakes were shaking when you brake, steering wheel is vibrating and the car had a unpleasant smell in it. It did have new tires though. After thanking for the test drive, I mentioned about these safety related issues to Mike and Steve (managers) while they were very comfortably watching TV in the Customer Lounge. They told me in a very rude and cold way (in front of my 6 year old daughter) that "We are not doing anything else on this car on this price. If you want you can take your money back and go!". I must have distracted and interrupted their TV watching and I felt like my safety related concerns were irrelevant to them. I think, it was a mistake to advertise and agree on a price with a customer on a car that was not even inspected. Why do you advertise and give a price on a car that is not ready to be sold? At the end, of course I asked for a refund and backed out with this kind of treatment . I should tell you that I truly felt very stressed and upset after leaving this dealership, I would highly recommend avoiding this place and driving 100 miles to other BMW Dealerships for purchasing which will probably save you money especially on a new BMW.. By the way, I saw the car next day on the web advertised $1,000 more than what it was advertised before. I would like to end my review with Robert Bosch`s famous quote as a reminder to Bill Pearce BMW Sales "I Would Rather Lose Money Than Trust". Thanks for reading my review.

Not The Place to Buy A New BMW

by pavement1 on 05/15/2015

Bill Pearce BMW business philosophy is they know their the only dealer in northern Nevada and they are not at all price competitive. I have purchased two new BMW's in the last ten years and I gave them an opportunity to earn my business. I found multiple quotes from Calif dealers that were less. After having my BMW's serviced under warranty at Bill Pearce I will not be buying any more BMW vehicles.

1.these guys does not respect the client. I preordered a car , I paid the non refundable down, but when they delivered my new car, they driven it already 25-30 miles just for fun! 2.financing with BMW, they did not give me the $750 instant/holiday credit of which I was entitled, they said "it is ours!" Would you believe it?! 3.they do not offer much to their clients in order to get fidel customers. 4.it seems they are not a certified BMW dealer. Why I am not...? 5.their Service techs ,I hear now , are not high class trained.

Why kids shouldn't be selling $40k plus cars!!!

by dmkhnr on 01/13/2008

My wife and I recently decided to upgrade our 2003 Camry, to a vehicle that would be a little more exciting for the 2 of us. One of the cars on our list was a BMW (also being the first we crossed off our list). Our intent was to spend the day looking and test driving the 4 cars that we were interested in. There was no motive to discuss pricing, or even buy a car, just find the vehicle we were going to be happy with for the next 5 years. Upon arriving at Bill Pearce Motors, we of course were greeted by a salesman (everybody knows how that works) and several questions were asked of me, as to what I was looking for. At this time the question of price came up, and I threw a range that I would be able to purchase any of the other 3 cars at. Well, I could not buy a BMW from that dealership and stay within that price range. I being a busy man, and a little hungry an not one who wants to waist time, so I politely thanked him for his time and proceeded to wrap up the conversation with the intent to move on. The salesman then asks me to wait, so he can brainstorm and find a solution to my problem of being under budget for one of his cars. He walks over to a gentleman who was introduced as a manager, and they come up with a plan that will work for me if I want to lease. Well, I don't need to lease a vehicle, I can afford the premium asked, I just choose not to pay it when there are better cars for less money. I keep to myself about the lease, and decide to take one of their base BMW for a test drive. Of course, much like the Lexus is250 that I drove an hour prior, I ended up with intentions for the 300 hp is350 as 200hp was like driving the 03 camry, the bmw was the same and I would need the next motor up to stay on my list of vehicles. This one of course was well out of my budget, and again, I was heading off the lot. The salesman (he was a nice guy) proceeded to shuffle my wife and myself back into the dealership. At this time were ready to leave, but decide to give him 5 more minutes as he was hospitable in showing us this vehicle. He then approaches us, and introduces another salesman, some young kid (maybe 24) who is going to help us as there is an appontment waiting for the original salesman. O.K. shuffle us off thats fine, we're ready to go anyway. The new guy proceeds to ask me all the same questions that I was asked when I first came on the lot, and I cordually answered them. In the middle of his questioning, I told him, look, I've already gone over all this, and you don't have a car that will suit my needs, thanks for your time. This pompus kid starts ranting off about how their cars are the best, they don't need to deal on vehicles as people are priveledged to be able to even buy a BMW off their lot. He then proceeds to inform me of the economics of buying a car, and how loans and interest work and my wife and I should do our research on all this before we get ourselves into something we're not qualified to handle. Now I'm a General Contractor, and build spec homes of which I borrow money from lenders to construct. I own 2 homes, and moved $750k of borrowed money through my bank last year. I am pretty firm when talking to people as that is what my busieness warrants, however I never belittle or demean as I feel that is cowardly. Somehow this young kid moved himself into a position of telling me I'm an uniformed consumer who doesn't understand how to buy or sell a car. (I forgot to mention that I buy a new $45k truck every 2 years for tax purposes.) I honestly had never been treated so rudely in my life. I honestly think that if his mother were there, she would have slapped him. Anyway, thats my experience with Bill Pearce Motors, this will be a good story to tell over the years.
