Deceptive ad

I have bought cars from Quirk in the past. It's the first place I turned to lease a car for my daughter. They advertise in the Herald a price for a lease on a Ford Escape S. I didn't want anything else. $99 per mo with 1999 down. I wanted only what was advertised. I was paying all of the other expenses so I made it clear it was not to be wrapped up in the monthly payment. I was ready to sign UNTIL the dealer came back with a monthly payment 2x of that was advertised. $189 is a huge difference to the advertised price. I don't deal or haggle on an advertised price and I expect to pay that price. I quickly walked out and won't return. When a dealer advertises a price they MUST give that price. Their tactics were deceptive and in violation of GL c 93a.

2017 EXPLORER SPORT

I feel like a kid at Christmas. Got the SUV I've always wanted, finally. With Rob Kulch's supper help and Darrin the finance man. They got me into the truck I wanted; at lower than I was willing to pay monthly payment. Very happy Ford owner. You guys ROCK!

Game Playing Sales People

Went to Quirk after internet sales guys said the only way they would give me pricing on more than one truck was to come in. I fell for that and went in, they pushed me into the truck they quoted on the internet and wouldn't quote the truck I really wanted, insisted it would be "way more money." I signed and gave a deposit. I get home, my buddy makes an internet inquiry for the truck I wanted and they came back with a lower price. I called Bobby to tell him I wanted them to give me that truck and that deal and the guy sales person freaked out and cancelled the sale completely. What dealership walks away from a sale???

Useless

It’s hard to begin to describe how bad their service department is. I had heard this anecdotally, but now I have experienced it. I bought a certified, pre-owned, 73 point inspected, 2012 Ford Edge on 9/30/2014 for my wife. The vehicle had 21,870 miles on it. Brought it to Quirk in early 2015 because the rear brakes made a screeching noise. Was told there was nothing wrong with it. Brought it in on 3/21/15, for an oil change at 24,159 miles, also asked to check the brakes due to the same noise. Was told there was nothing wrong with the brakes. Brought it back 5/29/15, with 25,312 miles, due to the rear brakes locking up. Rear tire hot to the touch. Service tech called me and said it was an $800.00 repair. When I protested, he said I had to understand that I bought a used vehicle. I reminded him that I purchased a certified, pre-owned, 73 point inspected vehicle. Service tech called the next day and said the repair was covered under warranty. Brought it in 7/7/15, with squishy front brakes. Dealer replaced the front brake booster. Interesting that they didn't find this in the 73 point inspection since it’s a known issue. See Ford Technical Service Bulletin 13N02. Summer 2015, Sync system kept cutting out. Brought it to Quirk. They did something. I thought they updated the software. Sync system kept cutting out. Discovered a water leak from the front driver’s side pillar and a leak of power steering fluid. Brought it to Quirk March 2016. Asked them to look at Sync system, water and power steering leaks. Was told it would take a day or two to update the software. They said the door gasket had to be replaced for the water leak ($300) and parts had to be replaced for the power steering leak ($200). They kept the vehicle for two days to update the software (they said it took that long), then told me it wasn’t the software, they had to replace the APIM. Part won’t be in for two days. Came in and was installed under warranty. Took the vehicle to my regular mechanic. He tightened a connection to cure the power steering fluid leak ($40). Took the vehicle to a body shop for the water leak. He checked it and said the vista roof wasn’t closed completely and that Ford knows there’s an issue. He said a dealer gave him the fix by resetting the open/close buttons. He said he couldn’t understand why Quirk didn’t know it ($160). In January, 2017, my wife told me the rear brake was locking up again and the wheel was hot to the touch. Knowing that Quirk’s service team would most likely give me the run around again, I took it to my mechanic on February 2, 2017, at 41,847 miles. The rear brake pad was completely worn, the brake hose was collapsed, caliper slide pins all frozen. Mechanic did the work that should have been done two years ago by Quirk. $669.00 You should call me if you really want to discuss it. [Phone number removed]

Great during sale forget it once you signed that paper

My husband and father went to quirk to look at new explorers for me and they worked with Robert and Darren. They were torn between a lease and buying for me but eventually Robert hit the numbers we wanted and it was great. The sales experience was exceptional. My husband and I were a little tricky because he is a disabled veteran and my maiden name has not yet been changed. The dealership worked with us to get done what had to be done but I swear to you the second they had our signature and number in for year end sales we got the run around. The day we were supposed to pick up the car Darren was off which is acceptable especially being 12/30, but what a cluster! We were told we could transfer plates from my trade in which at the time we could only get 1 plate off and shop was closed so I was told to come back tomorrow for my front plate and sticker......which is over an hour from my house and the city of Boston is smack dab in the middle. I bit my tongue because I had a brand new car so who could complain? The following day was 12/31 and New Year's Eve,thank you but no thank you to driving through Boston for my front plate that really should've been taken off for me without having to drive 2 hours total! My husband talked to Robert and my front plate was mailed. No harm. No foul. Until today....5 days after getting my car and driving all around we get a call that our plates did not legally transfer! Quirk had the new plates ready for my husband to pick up.....in the middle of the day..when we both work! My husband drove from Gloucester to quirk to my work in downtown Boston! I am so glad we waited to write this review. It is so annoying that we spent so much time Back and forth over nonsense ! I went from a 5 to a 2.5 all because of how we were treated once they had our signatures.

After months of looking for the right truck and with the weather changing fast in New England. I'm happy to say I'm a proud owner of the F150 I've been looking for. Quirk not only had more trucks in stock than other dealers, the sales team was right on. Rob Kulch and the finance team got me the truck I wanted and what I wanted to pay for. Looking forward to those SNOW DAYS now!

When I go to purchase a new vehicle for a family member or friend, I always go to see Robert because he doesn't play games. Robert knows I'm serious and won't let me leave without a great deal. We went to Quirk Ford at 4:30 on a Sunday (they close at 5) just to look and ended up buying a car. Our sales rep Robert was absolutely amazing and made our experience so easy and so pleasant. We had no intention on purchasing our vehicle in the beginning and Robert stayed after hours to answer all of our questions and made us feel comfortable enough that we just couldn't leave without buying our new car. Last week my husband and I stopped at Quirk Ford, Quincy, to look at the Escape. We were greeted by Chris Baron, who was friendly, knowledgeable and informative, professional, and anxious to satisfy our needs. He patiently considered our requests and answered questions as we looked at inventory and drove the Escape. My husband, who was interested in the Escape, has not made a decision, but I came home with a Fusion for myself.
